Im originally from Pittsburgh Pa where there are a bunch of Asian restaurants. Restaurants where you walk in and your the only non-Asian. For me, when i see a diningroom filled with people of every background, ALL enjoying the food, I rate that as pretty high up. Now Im here in Souhern Arizona, lVE tried just about every Asian place i came across. They were good, all about the same as Panda Express. But then, for some reason we pulled into Jumbo. I think we wanted to try the buffet but we were late. Between the two of us we ordered Beef and Broccoli, Shrimp and Chinese Vegetables, Combination Chow Fun, Egg drop soup, Wonton soup, steam and Fried rice. OHH MYY GOODNESS I was back up in Pa. would not answer the phone, servers are unbothered and hostess just slowly meandering back to the front. had to go inside to order to go for three entrees. took 51 minutes when there was only three tables inside buffet closed and two servers on the floor. I'm not too sure how else to place a complaint but this has been the same issues for years! only decent Chinese in town so I'll deal but if you're from out of town just get something else I promise it's not worth it. read more

Ok! Now this is a small town Chinese restaurant that does a great job of delivering what you would expect from a small market environment. The huge plus comes from having a lunch buffet. Quick in and out if you need it. My faves: Hot and Sour Soup, Twice Cooked Pork, Lo Mein, Fried Shrimp, and Crab Angels. Not Faves: Fried Rice. It needs to be less "Fried". Made and order for pick up, I was told that it would take 25 minutes but it took and hour this places staff is butt cheeks.

This restaurant used to be our favorite. Lately , service is disappointing: no consistent to go orders availability. Don't answer phones. Dining in- buffet items are old and overcooked- also not replenished after the noon rush. Restaurant also needs a good cleaning and storage area away from dining room. read more

Great food I absolutely love this place but HORRIBLE SERVICE from the OWNERS!! Forget trying to place an order over the phone, calls go straight to a recording that states they aren't taking to go orders. They close at 8 pm but stop taking tables at 7:30 same w/ to go orders. I've been trying to order food for THREE DAYS over the phone doesn't matter what time I called, i got the same recording. So I went in & questioned the hostess she said "we shut our phones off sometimes so the cooks can catch up." In person I could not place an order or dine in because it was 7:30. Menu given 4/6/2021 - Take-out only. No buffet. Hours are not consistent. You open the door and there is the counter, right there! Draped heavy duty plastic for distancing Covid measures. You either order, pay or call in, pick up, pay and when food is ready they will bring it to your car. The lady who brought my food out was masked and gloved. I called us in an order and took it home, of course. We hadn't eaten here for several years (5 or more). We didn't care for it then even though we tried it a handful of times. So I thought we ought to try it again since a few friends told us we ought to give it another try. We ordered an order of egg rolls, crab angels, (Dinner Combination Plate) Sesame Chicken and Low Mein. I had chicken added to the regular lo mein, I think it was an extra dollar. The combo came with rice, fried or white. I chose the fried rice. Also a large Egg Drop Soup. The dinner combo, and other items, was definitely enough for two people, but 3 of us ate off this with plenty to eat. There are good and not so good reviews, but not many. I was hoping to like or enjoy my meal. The egg rolls were all vegetable, but I did enjoy them. The Sesame Chicken was fair, but good. The Lo Mein, not so tasty. The crab angels, I'm sorry, absolutely too fishy tasting, not very pleasant. In an order of 12, none of us finished eating our fist one. The rice was good. As for the egg drop soup, we did not finish what we dished out for ourselves. We did NOT finish anything but the egg rolls. Like I said I was hoping for a good dinner. So sorry. I would say this is probably the best Chinese option in Graham county, the food is really good, the buffet is a little small. Prices are a little high, but overall it really decent. Used to be a family tradition to order from here for New Year's, their hours seem to be very flexible sometimes, they are not always open when they used to be. One of the downsides also is that this business closes regularly for a vacation, which I have no problem taking vacation, they're just be nice if they have other stuff to be able to run it while they were away. I really like their family meals especially the to go ones, were you by each person a meal, take it home and it usually last a couple three meals. Inside the restaurant, the staff can be hit and miss, love the decor. The motif is Jade Chinese, it's old and it needs to be refurbished, a little bit of TLC would go a long way, but I also understand that everything costs money. Another really good thing that they could have is delivery, it's the first place I've ever lived where the Chinese restaurants don't have delivery. Well of course now there's like GrubHub and Uber eats, but I don't like paying the extra price I'd rather give the driver a few bucks for the delivery like with the pizza. read more

I LOVE this place. I work in Safford 5 days a week but I don't live in town. So when I don't have leftovers, this is my go to place! I call in a pick up order so often, the main waitress knows me from my phone number... Yeah, I eat here a lot. They have the best egg drop soup in town, FYI... Usually I got between the chicken lo mein, the general tso chicken, or the sesame chicken. When I order just for me, I go with the steamed rice but when I'm taking it home, I get the fried rice. And always some egg drop soup. The servings are big. I usually can get 2 or 3 lunches out of an order. I have tried several different things. The egg roles are good, the crab angels are good. I didn't like the beef sticks, but I know others who love them. The Kung Pao chicken has a kick, as does the Hunan chicken. It is not fancy. But it is clean. And the main waitress is lovely and friendly and funny. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes to pick up an order. They also have an all you can eat lunch buffet that I have't tried yet, but there are a ton of options and every time I have gone to pick up an order at lunch, it is well stocked. I got the curried chicken and it was good. While I wouldn't rave about its splendor, the entrée consisted of crisp, seemingly fresh vegetables and had a pleasant taste. I enjoyed the decor and the service was okay (although I would have assumed that we would be waited on a little more seeing as there were only three tables - but whatever). The "fried rice" is not your stereotypical fried rice. It didn't have anything in it (like the usual mixed vegetables and egg). I think it was just put in a frying pan and stirred around. It still tasted alright. The bathroom wasn't the epitome of cleanliness (a little pumice would go a long way). As far as I was able to observe, the food was prepared by actual Asians (I know that some people are particular about such things). I gave 4 stars because of the freshness of the food and the price of the food. Ordered for take out. Chicken lo mien- good flavor, used spaghetti noodles Sweet and sour pork-awesome Pork fried rice-mediocre, had a bit of sweetness I didn't care for. It was really dark, not sure why. Pot stickers-mediocre, the dough was super thick for my liking. Egg rolls- had a nutmeg flavor or something that I didn't care for. Kids didn't like them and they usually devour egg rolls. Price was reasonable, I'd order the sweet and sour and lo mien again. read more

This place has always been bad... It closes sometimes for months at a time, has horrible service and bad food. Recently my family went there, heaven knows why... While they were eating at the buffet they noticed a little friend staying in the buffet... A cockroach in the crab angles! And as if this is not enough, when the manager was approached about the cockroach, they treated it like nothing, no apology, no offer to eat free. Just a simple, "oh, that will be 19.99." I was traveling through and ordered the combination dinner plate chicken chow mein and sweet and sour pork and when i got my food there was some chicken and bean sprouts on my plate. I told the waitress it wasn't chow mein and she said the fried wontons on the plate was chow mein. WTF I been going to Chinese restaurants my whole life and know chow mein are noodles. Mein in Chinese means noodle. Google it people. Won't be returning here. Only reason for two stars is because of the Bao Bao appetizer came with a little fire decoration. I am surprised this place isn't rated higher... it's delicious food! It honestly taste like Panda Express and the fact that it's a buffet, like you can literally have an unlimited amount of Panda tasting food, is insane. We've come twice so far and my goodness, that orange chicken, breaded shrimp, white noodles and egg drop soup is so so so good. I hate that I found this place now that I'm trying to start a diet because every time I come to Safford now, I want to eat here. It's not good for my waist line at all. The price is super good (cheaper then Panda) and the waitresses have all been so nice. What knocks a star off for me is the cashier is rude. The first time she was obnoxious and was like, "hello, your card? I mean how are you going to pay?" There is a better way to ask for payment lady! It's been a couple of years since I was last here. The service is quicker now, and the buffet seems to be kept a little fresher. While I wouldn't say this is the best Chinese I've, been to, it is the best in the area. I think they're the only one that routinely has chop suey. read more

Ordered General Tao's chicken for take out. When eating the meal at home I couldn't eat a single bite of chicken without spitting it out. It was like scrap wing and leg meat with more breading than meat. Have had many take out meals before and was satisfied with them. This past weekend I went to Safford with my family for my little brothers football tournament. After a long day in the sun, we were all feeling exhausted, drained and "hangry". As we were contemplating about were we should eat as a family, my mom suggested Chinese food. Anyone that knows me, knows I HATE Chinese food. Not anymore. After one hour at this restaurant, my opinion of Chinese food has changed. As soon as you walk in the doors of Jumbo Chinese Restaurant there is a peaceful ambiance that over takes you. We had a special lunch of Chicken Hunan, eggs rolls, rice and sweet and soup. The flavor of each dish was not only spot on but made you wanting more.... even hours after you had left the restaurant Amazingly, Safford has only three Chinese restaurants. Jumbo's is hands down the best out of the three and out of all the American-Chinese restaurants I have been to. It is the triple threat: great food, good service and very reasonable prices. This place is a gem considering the location.The only negative thing I have to say about this restaurant is that it is sadly a couple hours away from where I currently reside. If I had the option I would try to each here at least once a week, if not every month. to anyone who is on the fence about trying Jumbo Chinese Restaurant: get off and go inside. We were in Safford for a fiddling contest, and so had to make the best of the dining situation. We are a Chinese family, so never expect much from Americanized Chinese food. This place was actually not bad! I give it four stars for its quality in such a small-town location in the middle of nowhere. We had a great ma po tofu, a nice scallop stirfry (a bit skimpy on scallops), egg drop soup (not too salty), and another dish I can't remember. If you're in Safford, give it a try! read more

Amazingly, Safford has three Chinese restaurants, and this is by far the best of the three. It is even better than most Chinese places I have been in big cities. if you like Chinese food and are in the area skip out on the others and try Jumbo's. read more

I love this place it has great food, good service and reasonable prices. There's only three Chinese food places in town and this is the only one worth going to. Moved here from Phoenix and this is even better than most of the places I've been there. Only thing that does sucks is they do close for a while in the summer when they go to visit family. read more
