The service was good and the price felt reasonable for what I got. The only downside was the buffet-style dishes -- they didn't look very fresh, and there was only one server working, who was also acting as the cashier. It made me unsure if they were just short-staffed or not too busy. Overall though, the food from the menu was great, and I'd definitely come back for the Singaporean Vermicelli again! read more

This place makes the best Chinese food I've ever eaten, everything is so flavor, for instance the chickens or so crispy and flavor and the chow mien while being a little greasy has excellent over ridding flavors. Chinese food, especially with buffet options, is so iffy. For one, do you want authentic Chinese food, or American-Chinese food? Do you want healthy Chinese or yummy, fried Chinese food? I, bring the chubby girl that I prefer the latter. We were out exploring today and I found Jumbo. They offer the buffet, which you can peruse when you arrive, or daily lunch specials, or if you're really hungry, order dinner. There were three of us and we all opted for the buffet. Check this out! The cost is $6.75 per person! This includes hot and sour or egg flower soup. Our waitress suggested half and half. Wow, that was delicious! Speaking of our waitress, she was excellent. She had a wonderful personality and truly enjoyed her job. I tipped her much more than the cost of the buffet. We enjoyed fried shrimp, several chicken options (sweet and sour, kung pao, teriyaki, etc.), and many noodle options. The chef replenished the food on a regular basis. So, to recap, here's the breakdown: 5 stars for value 5 stars for flavor 5 stars for service 5 stars for food options 3 stars for environment I am always watching for cleanliness and you can only get a feel for the this from the main dining room and bathroom. Ate lunch at Jumbo Chinese and was truly impressed. The quality of the food was excellent and the quantity was abundant. I had the Chicken Curry Lunch Special. The Hot & Sour Soup was both the right temperature in flavor and heat. I was happy to see they served it with won-ton crisps. My Chicken Curry was also flavorful and not too spicy. It was a large enough portion with the fried rice that I was able to take a serving home for dinner. The fried wontons were plentiful and crispy. They were served with a big bowl of sweet and sour sauce. You usually don't have such a large serving to use at most places so it was nice. The oolong tea was hot and the waitress checked to make sure we never ran out. Service was spot on. Our waitress was attentive and saw to all our needs in a timely manner. She brought our food out quickly and we didn't have to wait for our ticket or to pay. I will definitely be back. I wish I had been there before now and used them as a take-out spot during the pandemic. Now I know I can grab dinner from there on the way home from work and expect a delicious meal. read more

Not sure why there's low reviews on this place. You can't beat the dinner special here! 10.95 a person for soup, appetizers, and you each get to pick out an entree. Plan it right, and you can have plenty of options from sweet to savory. Plenty of food to eat and enough to take home for lunch the next day. I love the service here. The ladies are so nice. My issue with this place in the 5 times I have been here is the freshness of the food. There is only 1 buffet table, so I thought it would have fresher food than another place in town. Not so- every time I have been here the food is old and not hot, not even warm. The last time I went, just a few days ago, the fried shrimp was room temperature in the middle. That is scary, because it was under a hot lamp. I know that 'hot' food is supposed to be at least 135 degrees for hot holding, and room temperature is about 70-75 degrees. Some of the food was old and sticking to the bottom of the pan, and items such as the fried shrimp and chicken on a stick was not warm at all. The wontons were mushy and almost NO filling. How can you have a cream cheese wonton with no filling? I have faith that this place could be really great, and I will try again and be glad to update my review if the food is just more fresh. read more

We got food to go on 07-19-2018. We had an order of golden shrimp, sweet and sour chicken, and pod stickers. Every single thing was over cooked and mostly inedible except for the rice. I was disgusted that they took my money and gave me that garbage in return. With China Taste and now Bloom you can't afford to lose customers. But you lost my business. I called and tried to explain it to the girl working. She spoke very broken English and she had no idea what I was talking about. I hung up and kissed my $35.00 goodbye. I concur that this place has experienced much improvement compared to when it first opened. I notice that the quality of the meat is better, before it used to have a hint where you can tell it was frozen. Now you can't taste that taste. I also want to mention that this place has really large portions which is great for my wallet. One meal can be split between myself and another person and we are able to get full off it. Passed this place several times and I decided to try this time. The staff was extremely friendly and seated me and took my order quickly. I asked for an explanation of one of the menu items and the waiter described it perfectly. I ordered seafood and it was fresh and well-prepared. I had the seafood delight soup and it had a surprisingly good flavor. I ordered a shrimp dish with almonds and peanuts and it was also very tasty. I had enough food to be satisfied that night and I ate the leftovers for lunch the next day. I noticed a good complement of regular customers who ordered from the menu without looking at it. The staff seem to know the regulars very well and welcomed them, even asking about loved ones that weren't present that night. On the way out the owner asked where I was from and when I mentioned my hometown, she immediately asked if my family was okay in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy; this impressed me and seemed genuine. Was seated at 12:30 for lunch. The table was wet from wiping it off so my napkin and silverware were wet from soaking it up. Many of the food warming trays were close to empty. I ordered a few items common in dimsum, but they did not have it. Can't hold it against them since we came in near the end of lunch hour. What I do hold against them was when my wife ordered a salted egg yolk bun which have three of them in a dish. What she got was one salted egg yolk bun and two lotus seed bun without informing us. Bait and switch, hoping we would not care. My wife also ordered a Paradise Jumbo Shrimp. Evidently, because it was near the end of lunch hour, they rushed this dish as they didn't properly drain the unflavored broccoli and so the water mixed in with the cream making the cream less creamy and watery. I ordered what was supposed to be spicy chili and cumin beef dish. Since anything that was 'spicy' was given little chili pepper next to the item on the menu, I requested that they make it extra spicy. What I got was a pepper and onion beef dish that was not spicy at all. What happened to my 'make it extra spicy'? They gave me a small ramekin 1/3 filled with hot chili oil on the side... I dumped the whole thing into my dish. I mixed it around and still did not get any real kick. So I order another side of hot chili oil and dumped the whole thing into my dish. Finally got enough kick out of it to not be sicken by the meal. I had to eat/drink my food to get enough spicy kick to be all right. I gave never ever had to do something like that in my life. Now I know I can handle spice, but I also know I am not that much of a chili head. For me to have to treat my dish like soup and drink their chili oil speaks more on how unspicy the chili oil was. And how bad this dish was. I may change my mind again in the future as I will give this restaurant one more chance. But first impression was not remotely good nor can I right now recommend to anyone. read more

I tried this place out and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff is very attentive and friendly. It reflects the service. I love the food there and I'm a picky eater. They only have a small lunch buffet and a small dome container of treats. I believe this is great for families. The atmosphere is very inviting and quiet. We were staying at America's Best Value Inn in Globe and were looking for someplace for dinner. We decided to try Jumbo Chinese. We're from Los Angeles and go to our Chinatown quite often for lunch or dinner and we know good Chinese food and how it's made. Unfortunately, we didn't find that here at Jumbo. We both ordered the combo plate of Almond Chicken, Sweet and Sour Shrimp and either fried or steamed rice. The Almond Chicken had a good amount of chicken in it, but it was 99% celery, a few mini-chopped carrots, and approx. two, very small dime size water chestnuts. That's it. Well, there was definitely almonds and chicken, so the name of the dish was correct. But where's the bell pepper and the onion? That's is how I've had it at most if not all Chinese Restaurants, no matter if it's Cantonese or Schezuan.The celery taste was so overpowering we picked out the chicken and carrots and were left with a very small amount. What we did leave was a half plate of celery. Very disappointing. The Sweet and Sour Shrimp was good, deep fried shrimp with sauce. I had steamed rice so that was a no brainer. My friend had the fried rice and he said it was ok although it just had egg in it and no veggies. Service was good, prices were reasonable, restaurant was clean.
