My husband and I came here for the second time for a Valentine lunch together. The first time we came, we accidentally ate before we came and so we had so much food leftover (which is not a bad problem!). So this time, we split the zesty orange chicken and a Philly roll between us for the perfect amount of food for the both of us. The food was delicious too. The orange chicken had the very essential and yummy flavor of an orange! And anything that can get me to eat more veggies (such as this dish) is a win to me. If I had any complaints, I would've wanted more chicken in the dish, since it was made up of mostly noodles. The sushi was good! Maybe not "knock-your-socks-off" good, but we did just go with the basic Philly roll instead of something more exciting. Their menu had some really interesting sounding sushi rolls. I will say though, that the Philly roll was very pretty! Otherwise, our waitress was great and checked up on us. Our food was out pretty fast, and for Globe, I would definitely consider this more of an upscale/still casual place for a date. We'll be back to get more fancy Asian fusion food. read more

The reason I am giving this place 2 stars today instead of 1 is because our server Lauren saved me from having an allergic reaction due to observed cross contamination in the kitchen and told us. We haven't been here in years due to the last time we visited we had a very negative experience. Today was a little better, but not by much. My 6yo and I ordered 3 rolls(california, rainbow and caterpillar) and an appetizer(coconut tempura shrimp). We received 2 rolls before our appetizer, which to me was weird. They all came with wasabi and ginger, and I asked our waitress Loren if I could have some ginger without wasabi as I am mildly allergic. She said no because they use the same hand to serve both so the wasabi is in the ginger. I thought 'that sucks, cross contamination'. When the final roll(caterpillar) came out it had 3 sauces on it; unagi sauce, spicy Mayo and Siracha. I asked her when she came by again if it was supposed to have the spicy ones, she said 'oh yes, the caterpillar comes with all 3'. I had ordered it for my 6yo to eat, the menu has none of the spicy sauces listed in the description, just the unagi sauce. So, buyer beware, not all sauces are listed on the menu and if you have an allergy you might want to eat elsewhere because if there is one cross contamination, there are bound to be others. read more

Found this hidden gem as I was driving through globe and the roads were closed on my way back down to the valley. I have never been more thankful to have roads closed cause without it I would have never stopped here. Got our after dinner to go trays along with how are you going to pay! Nope no " is there anything else you like " not one thing but pay and get out atmosphere. This is a peculiar place. 5* for quality of food, 3* for authenticity/it being what it is. It's excellent if you take the dishes as being American rather than Asian. I'll start with the strong. I ordered hokkien mee--the noodles were cooked perfectly, the shrimp and chicken were extremely flavorful and the perfect texture. You can tell the ingredients are fresh, everything is cooked to order, and they know what they're doing. That said--I've had a lot of hokkien mee, including in Singapore and at several Malaysian restaurants in North America, and this dish had little if any resemblance to hokkien mee. I ordered the squid salad and it had such a variety of flavors and textures that were surprisingly delightful. The atmosphere wasn't super memorable, but I liked the cozy and close seating, typical in Asian cuisine. The sashimi was also exquisite; the smoked salmon, tuna and yellowfin each surprised me with their tender meat and smoky flavor. This place serves Coke products (YAY) and ordered after perusing the menu. Crispy Eggroll : 2 eggrolls cut in half. They were very crispy with fresh ingredients. Red Dragon: Hubs thoroughly enjoyed it. Wasabi really cleared his sinuses. (lol) Chicken Katsu: Now, here is where we go a little sideways.... Menu says lightly breaded with Panko breadcrumbs. I like Katsu, chicken or pork. Curry or not. To me, the chicken was not breaded, not a cutlet. Not quite representative of Japanese Katsu. It was more teriyaki - like. It was served with a heaping helping of rice, cabbage & a couple of pieces of broccoli. The portion could have fed 2. Don't get me wrong - the food was yummy. The two servers were quite busy. It was yeomanlike Chinese food, but didn't have the kick or unusual flavors I was craving. DW ordered the Garlic Dream -- again, competent, but without the intensity of garlic she was expecting. The most enjoyable port of the experience was eating outside in their cozy little urban alcove, equipped with all-season heaters and misters, among shady trees, where our retriever was welcome to spend mealtime with us. Such cute, small spot. We drove over from the Thatcher area which is about an hours drive. We called in our order to go. When we got there to pick up our food I walked in and there was a lady standing there with a menu in hand. I stood behind her and after a couple minutes asked if she was in line as she didn't move and looked like she needed help. She was, waiting to order food to go. Okay, so I stand and wait a few more minutes but I was never greeted by the sushi line staff that stared directly at the door. Not a "Welcome in, we will be right with you." "Hello, welcome" nothing. We just stood here doe eyed. Hence the 3 stars. I gathered I waited about 6-7 minutes until I finally saw a waitress and flagged her down to help the now 9 of us that were standing like sardines by the front door. This was our first time here and they did not make a good impression whatsoever. The food was good we ordered the tuna roll, Philly and California roll. The Edemame we asked for extra salt on top which they forgot. I would be back just based on the fact that this sushi place is the closest one to us even though it's an hour away. Well, this place would be one of my favorites even if it were located in any city I know. It is sooo good. Plus, I love the atmosphere of the place. If you want the vibe, sit inside. If you want chill, sit on the porch. The sushi is always fresh. My favorite roll is the Evil Sister. The Lantern Flame is my go to entree and we almost always start with the calamari and spicy garlic edamame. They always have great specials if you want variety. This restaurant does well when I ask for gluten free. They modify most recipes to accommodate. They don't always have tamari, but that is okay. My aunt quested sushi in such a small town, but she was pleasantly surprised. It can rival good sushi in the valley. We all ordered our plates for dinner. And without getting into specifics, it was good for everyone. My mom needed some modifications, spot on. My aunt and uncle shared and they brought extra plates. My husband ate it all! No complaints. The only thing we noticed was the large amount of food was slightly less. Which honestly is good, we would always take home some with enough for 1.5 other meals. Their drinks were good. The place was very clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The potstickers were some of the best I have had since they had a nice crunch to them. I would have liked a dipping sauce with them, but they were still quite nice. We had three rolls, all of which were perfectly made, fresh, and very tasty. 1 star for being quickly seated. 1 star for how quickly the food came out. Every restaurant starts off with five stars. If you are a sushi, connoisseur, do not come here. You will be highly disappointed. We ordered sushi. The salmon was very slimy and smelled horrible. The yellowtail and tuna were not good quality but weren't as bad as the salmon. We let the waitress know that the salmon was bad she said "OK can I get you anything else?" we politely declined. She brought us the bill and said "they said the salmon was fresh". I replied with "at some point it probably was". To the waitress: The customer is always right. You must have missed that training.. 1 star removed for invalidating the concern 1 star removed for not discounting the salmon when we didn't eat past the first bite 1 star removed for the comment "they said it was fresh". The it's always sunny in Arizona roll came on a plate that had a huge chip out of it, my husband had ice tea and when the server offered a refill for him she brought him water. Really?????? They were not that busy as we were there toward the end of Lunch Rush. When I told the server that the plate had this huge chip and needs to be thrown away, the response was "oh". No apology or anything. Also when the server came to collect, she cited the total due off her I-Pad without offer an itemization. I had to ask and she did not offer a receipt. Globe has a lot of mining history, since 1875 it's been finding precious metals and rare turquoise, but Bloom might be the town's most valuable treasure yet! To be honest, I was slightly concerned about ordering anything with fish--it's Globe, AZ, the middle of the desert and I was thinking fresh fish seems like a far off catch. But I was completely wrong, the salmon SUPER fresh! The second time I tried their Trust Me Roll, which changes daily and is a unique creative roll designed by one of their chefs. The roll was sublime! Thinly sliced Korean beef on top a California-like roll with wasabi peas and spicy mayo! So good! It was crunchy due to the wasabi peas, it had spice, and also bold flavor from the beef. All of it came together perfectly! I also had their Miso soup and it was the best bowl I've ever had. No joke. It had BIG pieces of tofu, carrots, broccoli, rice, and also the usual green onion and seaweed. Worth getting! The best part, besides the food, was the atmosphere. It's an amazing 5 star restaurant settled in the historic downtown area of a mining town where most people seem to know each other, or of each other. While settling in, locals were talking to each other from their own respective tables and raving about what they were eating, "You gotta try the pork shank today!", "Have you tried the Trust Me Roll yet!?" It was like being in the coffee shop from Gilmore Girls, everyone collectively weighing in on what to order, but instead of a coffee shop it's their own personal amazing Asian restaurant.
