Really amazing boba!! The cashier was very kind and polite. The store is incredibly clean, too :)

It's been a while since I came to Jumbo Jumbo! I tried a new dish today, but I typically get the Taiwanese Chicken over Rice or popcorn chicken. Tomato Chicken on Rice 8/10 - Tasty -- also came with egg - Very filling, generous portion Food came out in about ~10 minutes and service was good. I would come back again to try their other dishes!

Yesterday was the second time my partner and I used Uber Eats to place an order here. Both times our food arrived within about an hour. A couple weeks ago I bought a Taiwanese cookbook so wanted to compare the taste of homemade fried chicken bites (yan su ji) with a restaurant. I used an air fryer but assumed Taiwanese restaurants would use traditional methods of oil in a wok or some sort of deep fryer. The crispy chicken as well as the fried squid from Jumbo Jumbo were pretty tasty. I also enjoyed the oriental ground pork noodles. Personally I'm not a huge fan of dry bean curd but it reminded me of my parents' home cooking and it was nice to have rice as a texture contrast with the rest of the meal. Other Taiwanese places do have fancier offerings and presentation of bubble tea but Jumbo's simple mango milk tea still tasted good. The tapioca pearls were pleasantly 'Q' (having the Taiwanese prized 'Al Dente' texture). Will continue to order from them when I'm craving authentic Taiwanese street food!

A classic in the college park area. If you have to try something here, get the Taiwanese chicken w rice! It's a super satisfying meal and doesn't break the bank. Service is usually pretty quick so don't worry too much about being hungry

We came here unexpectedly on a Sunday evening at 8 pm on 10/25/20. We were surprised it was still open since most places close early on Sundays. Carryout is only available currently due to the pandemic. We ordered the Taiwanese chicken platter with ground pork rice and vegetables (cabbage and carrots) for $10.85. It was very large that it could actually feed 2 people unless you're starving. The chicken looked burnt, but was juicy inside. If you're not a regular customer, the menu is a little confusing because Taiwanese chicken could be ordered alone as an appetizer for $8.30 or as a platter for $10.85. Wait time for an in-person order was 15 minutes. The prices seem to be high if you are a college student. But an occasional visit would be best if you're on a budget.

Such a convenient location for College Park to have Jumbo Jumbo as cheap eats and boba. As always, they're known for their Taiwanese Popcorn chicken (I highly recommend). They're very generous with their portion sizes. I also ordered Ground Pork on Rice with an egg which tasted okay and I probably wouldn't order it again. It didn't impress me but it is incredibly filling. A friend ordered The Cripsy Asian Chicken which looked more appealing in my opinion. I'd say their noodle based dishes may be a better option.

i love coming here for boba and taiwanese comfort food! cheap 4 buck boba??? YES PLEASE. i always get the jasmine green tea. best classic. j a warning, their drinks are on the bit sweeter side! Beef noodle soup [4/5] They use like udon noodles which I'm not a HUGE fan of, still loved it regardless tho. Rlly tasty and has chunks of meat. Taiwanese Chicken with Pork on Rice [4.5/5] Pretty straightforward. Their tasty crispy popcorn chicken with rice and minced meat on the side. The minced meat was a bit on the blander side but all in all super comfort food that always makes me happy. The veggies were also kinda bland and dry with the fried chicken but I'm not complaining lol.

In Domee Shi's animated film, Turning Red, a thirteen-year-old girl, Meilin, transforms into a room-sized red panda whenever she starts to feel a crush coming on. One memorable infatuation: the members of the late-nineties boy-band 4*Town. As a teenager, my wife's infatuations included the lead singers of Duran Duran (Simon Le Bon) and Wham! (George Michael). But what if the setting for the film was today and the metaphor for coming of age (puberty) was Taiwanese food and/or Bubble Tea. The Campus Drive location of Jumbo Jumbo, across the parking lot from the University of Maryland, could fill that role in a pinch. With entrees like Taiwan-Styled Combo Noodle Soup, Tomato Chicken on Rice, Taiwanese Chicken, and Spicy Pepper Pork on Rice, your taste buds will twirl like a red panda's tail, without attracting any unwanted attention!

Finally stopped by this place, I had the Taiwanese Lo Mei and forgot to ask for shrimp instead of beef. Not sure if that is even possible. I enjoy the portion of this plate, but as you can see I did not eat the beef. We also order the Fried Combo as appetizer and it's sprinkled w/old bay and Cajun I believe. I really like the Taro Milk Tea, i had the jumbo size. This was such a nice treat post eric nam night at the Filmore. I will recommend stopping by the ice cream shop next door after as a treat This is the menu and right now the restroom is out of service so the restroom has turned to a single restroom. Very clean place not only that but if you happen to eat in, they have the trash can is near the entrance/exit and they have a lil section on top of the trash where you can dump your leftovers or stuff and then place the plates for them to pick them up.

I have been coming here for many years now and i've never had a bad experience! Truly the best place in the DMV to get Taiwanese comfort/fast food! Whenever I come here I always order popcorn chicken. It is so delicious and they give you a good sized portion. If you don't know what to order, get this!!! it's easy to eat in the car and always so good. I also always order their beef noodle soup & their seafood combination soup. Beef noodle soup is a huge comfort food for me and they make it so well. Everything tastes so good here, I live in Virginia and I drive over a hour to come here each time but it's always worth it. They have a HUGE drink menu and so many different flavors you can choose for your boba. I always stick to their house black milk tea with boba and it's always so good. Right now they don't allow dine in but they do have tables outside of their restuarant where you can sit at. If you're in search of a good Taiwanese restaurant like i was, this is a great place to go to!!!

Jumbo Jumbo is a casual sit-down restaurant that specializes in traditional Taiwanese dishes. They are most known for their popcorn chicken but also have a lot of other delicious small plates to choose from! I highly recommend their tofu dishes. You won't be disappointed!

I LOVE this place... cheap, great food, comforting. I always come here on a rainy day. Their bubble tea is OKAY, but definitely come here for the food.

One bite was enough for me to know the dish was prepared to near perfection. The high heat (not spice) of the dish remained within the noodles. The touch of oil was apparent and not overwhelming. This dish was amazing. The roasted duck noodle soup was also great. The duck was juicy and tender. The soup balanced out the duck's greasiness. A fine dish as well. The GuiFei chicken was okay to good. The chicken was slightly dry, but it was still tasty. This dish was definitely a miss on my judgment but it was good enough. Generally speaking, I thought the food was fine. Was the food amazing? No. BUT, it was not horrible - I would say that my meal was slightly above average. Also, I thought the prices and portion sizes were pretty fair. I think the noodle soup was about $14 and the wontons were about $7. My order arrived to my home around 45ish minutes. However, I think the delivery aspect is more of a Grubhub thing rather than the restaurant. While the restaurant provided separate containers for the noodles and the broth, I wish they provided a larger container to mix the soup and noodles like many of the ramen and pho places provided for its delivery/take-out orders. Although I was not blown away by the food, it was good enough for me to reorder in the future.

We have been familiar with the area for years, as my father-in-law lived 3 minutes away, and recently we realized this was his go-to carryout. After 3 visits, I can say it's one of the best in the DMV, thanks to its flavor and food choices. You will find Japanese options like sushi, American-Chinese dishes like orange chicken, similar dishes, and Cantonese food like roast duck, Hong Kong-style noodle soups, and whole fish. They are family-owned and operated. Every time we come, the elder father is always gracious and provides excellent service. The restaurant is always quiet; you can hear conversations in the back, and as customers arrive to pick up their orders, we haven't witnessed any negative interactions. Customers are always happy with their food, and the staff say thank you. The only negative is the space. The building itself is older and outdated. In the summer, it is hot, and now in the winter, there is no heat. They have found ways to make it work, like space heaters on each table, but it can still get uncomfortable if you are dining in. The back area near the bathroom and the bathroom itself need a thorough cleaning. To me, it's a turnoff; it doesn't affect the food, but it does affect the dine-in experience. Again, overall, I love their food and believe it's a local gem worth a try.

Prior to week before last this review never would have been necessary. I get the same meal almost every single time we order from Yum's. Chicken in garlic sauce. I never ask for it to be made differently, I never request substitutions. Leading up to Thanksgiving I was getting over being sick and my throat was torn up from coughing (I could taste just fine before someone assumes that was part of the problem). I wanted my favorite meal but I couldn't handle it spicy because of my throat, so JUST ONE DAMN TIME I asked for it to be made very mild. Normally I enjoy the heat. My husband called and ordered, I heard him repeat my request and I could hear the girl acknowledge it. I don't know if the cook was feeling pissy because of special orders or if he just thought I had no right to ask for a single meal to be slightly different than usual, but the meal I got was so drenched in chili oil that even if I hadn't been sick I would have had trouble eating it. I couldn't swallow a single bite. The chili oil was so thick that a sauce which is usually brown was bright orange instead. It didn't even taste like garlic, and I don't think they added almost any of the brown sauce to it. I asked my husband to call back and let them know what had happened, assuming they'd offer to fix it. Nope. The girl on the phone just gave us some BS about how that's just how their orders are made, like I don't eat that at least once a week after my 12 hour shift. He got off the phone and I tried again to at least eat a little bit of it, but with my throat all scratched up it wasn't possible. So I called the restaurant to find out what happened. I got the same girl, same hapless garbage answer, and then she asked me what I wanted her to do. Like I'm supposed to do her job. I said if they weren't going to offer to remake it then I wanted the cost of the one meal removed from the receipt because it was inedible to me and not what I ordered. To do that, she said I had to bring the food back. So now I'm a liar apparently. I asked if she was serious and said no I am not coming all the way back out there to give her some chicken. And at this point I don't trust anything coming out of that kitchen. I asked for one damn meal to be made less spicy than usual one time and I get punished for it and treated like some scammer? Screw Yum's, we will NEVER eat there again. We have always been good customers and we get treated like this? Sorry but I have self respect and dignity and I'm happy to save the money. It would have taken no effort to make this right. Maybe tell your cook that a small request one time isn't the end of the world.
