Enjoyed the vegetable egg rolls again, and the Singapore Noodles and Vegetable Bean Curd soup weren't bad, but the Fried crab stick had a weird consistency and the General Tsos Fish had a STRONG fish taste. I also expected the fish to be prepared like general tsos chicken or tofu, but it was in a fish stick breading with sauce thrown on top. I ended up throwing out the fish and saving the undercooked fried rice it came with. We ordered carryout on a Wednesday evening. There are 2 tables for customers to wait. The menu on the wall with photos of dishes were faded so you should refer to the paper menu instead to order. We had Sesame Chicken for $9.95 and Triple Delight for $10.95. Both came with steamed rice, which was soft. Both entree portions were large and can accommodate 3-4 people. Sesame Chicken was over cooked and dry even with sauce on it. Triple Delight had adequate amounts of chicken, beef, and shrimp with mixed vegetables. I was in town visiting family and we stumbled across this great place. We ordered orange chicken, crispy beef, Mongolian delight, and the house special chow mein. We've been on the hunt for good take out Chinese, and this is the best in the area. Not only is the food delicious and good quality but the owner is very nice and helpful. They also deliver with a $12 minimum order. One note: We're from the west coast and for us chow mein means soft noodles. However, here chow mein is more like a chop suey with crunchy wonton strips. I tried the wings and fries the 1st time, the wings were a hot fried greasy tasteless mess, the fries were mushy and full of oil with no salt. Even the Mambo sauce was tasteless. I thought maybe it was just a bad order so tonight I ordered General Tso shrimp...EWWW! Hubby and I discovered this place back in February when we decided to go to my parents' house one night but were too lazy to cook so we decided to pick up some food. So, as soon as we stepped inside, I had to remind myself that it was a carryout, because the place was nowhere close to what I had in mind. I was kind of hesitant because it seemed like nobody ever comes here, it was so quiet and sad. Well it just goes to show you cant judge a book by its cover, because this has been our favorite Chinese place ever since. They make the best crispy beef and combo lo mein ever! And something should be said about their wings, which are really flavorful. The service is good. The girl who answers the phone speaks really loudly but she is a pro. So today Me, my boyfriend and my boyfriends tried goodies delivery for the first time. I ordered two large fried rice on chicken and one shrimp, and 2, 4 piece wings with french fries. Let me tell you. The rice tasted plain did not look like rice rice. Looked like they had poured soy sauce right in the middle of the box. On top of that there was more veggies then meat in the fried rice. Now on to the chicken and fries. All of the fries were mushy and over cooked. The chicken was absolutely just disgusting. It was sitting in a puddle of oil which was leaking from the box, It was dryer than anything will the oil leaking off of it., and it was tasteless. Just horrid. I ordered from Goodie's Carryout for delivery. When I called in, the phone etiquette was less than appealing. To be honestly it was actually quite awkward and left me feeling uncomfortable as though I had given my card information to someone over the phone that I shouldn't have. Thankfully when I checked my bank account I saw Goodie's name, which was a relief. The delivery of my order, which consisted of an order of honey BBQ wings and orange chicken, took a full hour to arrive. However our delivery person was very nice and polite. Next time though, I'll order ahead of time or drive the 3 miles to pick it up. The orange chicken was a good deal! The platter comes with chicken, fried rice, and 1 egg roll for $7.95. The chicken and rice were both good and the egg roll was just okay. The wrapping on the egg roll was a bit too doughy on the inside for me. My perfect egg roll consists of a very satisfying crunch rather than tearing at the wrapper. The wings were a decent price as well, we had an order of 10 for $7.25. I tried Goodies for the first time last night. I used their delivery service which was a big mistake especially in light of how close we live to Goodies. I called 40 minutes later and was told that the order was en route. I was going to rate Goodies one star because it took over 50 minutes to deliver; but the food was worth the wait. The General Tso Chicken was great. The Kung Pao Chicken tasted a bit different than what I have had before, but it was top notch. Egg rolls were OK. I'd rate this five stars if it were not for the delivery time. I plan to give Goodies another try, but next time I will pick up the food. read more

I would give this place less than 1 star if I could. I've tried this place a few times with lousy customer service and more importantly horrible horrible food. I kept coming to this place to give it a chance because of the overall good reviews but was unsuccessful in getting good food. The food is questionably Chinese food or even Asian for that matter. It's like they completely Americanized each dish and then used prepackaged everything and heated it up on the stove. To be honest, I could get better food in a microwave dinner than this place. This place is great! My fiance and I go here WHENEVER we want chinese food. I like trying new places but ever since we moved to Burtonsville a year and a half ago she hasn't let us go anywhere else. We tried Hunan Manor which is a stone throw away, and did not enjoy it nearly as much. If you pick up the food is always ready within 10-15 minutes no matter when you order it, we have been there early and very late and they have never let us down. I am not sure about the delivery time, we have never gotten it that way. It also always comes with 2 free egg rolls, I think you have to spend $15 to get that which isn't hard for 2 people. Takeout Chinese food is usually pretty basic. You have your deep fried , your salty, your General Tsu's...but what makes Goodie's attractive is the freshness. You dont usually get that with Chinese. Trust me. I know how old the refried "fried" rice really is. I've lived right near this place for years and never went in but today I'm glad I did. The tofu is good, crisp and nor that soggy shit most places serve. They ALWAYS give you two egg rolls. And the cutest part ? Its a family establishment!
