Once you have visible access to the battery, a bolted down stay bracket held everything together. Connected to the bracket was a battery junction box. I applaud the multiple technicians at AutoZone who not only were patient in figuring out how to remove all components safely, but also helped with the installation and calibration of my new battery. German cars are complex, and I'm fortunate that the main mechanic Bruce was able to solve the disassembly mystery.

I was informed through pictures that my brake pads and rotors were a very low percentage. (which is not a surprise to me because I've never had that issue in the past several years). There's some nice and honest mechanics at Pep Boys . They have a new manager named Craig, and Alfonso I've known him for over a year now. Great guy as well. I also went back to get that tire repaired (see photo) I went shopping around for a good price, at multiple locations. Pep Boys did give the best price for my specialty tire. that's including installation, balancing, etc. Once again, five stars, - I always usually wait a few days before I do a review on car repair / services, to ensure validity.

I brought a little bit of used oil to give them because they are technically considered a oil recycling center. He brought me back the jug of oil with about a quarter of it still in the container. I didn't want to say anything, but it's just an unnecessary hassle for me too go somewhere else because he doesn't want to spend the extra 10 second making sure it's empty. I know it's a little bit silly but stuff like this makes you wonder what the other things get skipped out on.

Working in automotive service for a long time now, you get to learn that knowing about cars is not exclusive to male or female these days, but for many working in the business, you often encounter that the employees are just working - they don't know anything or take an passion or interest in cars and how they work. So I have dealt with both males and females who just don't know anything, and it's rather disappointing. Everyday customer are relying on their expertise. Kennia is amazing. She is thorough, detailed, and goes out of her way to help and find other solutions, proactive, when me, a little shop - is in need of something. She is very knowledgeable. It doesn't take a lot for someone to take the extra step - and it shows. She doesn't have to, but she does anyway. Too many times, these days, we all become satisfied with doing the bare minimum, and don't think about the business or where our heart is it with doing the right thing and the best job we can. I immediately drove across the street to have my battery checked...yep no good. I purchased my battery (reasonable price) and the young man helping me at Kragen asked if I needed help changing the batteries out...um ya, I didn't think they even did that for you. Things were starting to look up, I was so glad I didn't need to go any further to complete this task. Well turns out my car isn't that easy to pull the battery out of but he remained friendly and patient and helped me get the battery replaced. No kidding he spent about a good half hour on my car and honestly he really didn't have to so I was greatly appreciative of his efforts and made sure to tip him for his time.

With most of the smaller auto parts stores like this one you go there because it is the closest one to your place. I go to this Kragen because it is close. For the most basic needs you'll be ok. Outside of that you might have better luck winning the lottery than you would getting knowledgeable help. It's not even that the people that work there don't know anything about cars, its that they know just enough to look up a part and tell you the price. However I don't go in to places like this expecting a lot. This is more of a "you wont be surprised" review than anything else. My only beef with this place aside from being entirely underwhelming is that most of the staff can't seem to be bothered when you need help. Come in Lo-riding your expectations and possibly leave listening to "You cant always get what you want" by the Rolling Stones, because, really, you can't always get what you want but if you drive here sometime you might, get what you need.
