I came in during the morning because I had to buy some lights for my car. I went in and as I was checking out the light bulbs, Jonathon politely asked me if I needed any assistance finding anything. I'm glad he did lol. He ended up locating the specific lights that I needed for my car in under 5 minutes, so I really appreciated his efficiency and quick service! I also needed a screwdriver which he also helped me to locate. The lights I ended up getting were perfect and the check out process was quick and easy, too! Good place to buy all your automotive needs! This is my third time here, mostly because it is the closest place to where I live! But no complaints here. I've asked for suggestions and I've asked for help with some DIY car projects and so far the staff has been very helpful and honest. If they don't know, they'll tell me. Not honest. Do Not Buy Battery warranty or batteries from them. Sold me a 5 year old battery a year and a half back. Purchased warranty and have had multiple dead batteries. Taken it to them twice and they tell me battery is fine it's my alternator. Brought vehicle to two mechanics that both say battery isn't good and alternator is fine. Straight lied to me to avoid warranty. Awful! Should be one star read more

I visited this location for car battery since my car didn't start a few days ago. I had called in advance to get more information. The gentleman who answered my call was very nice and helpful. He recommended coming in Friday or Sunday (Saturday that I was initially planning to come in won't be good due to short staffing). I came in on Friday, and Rami at the store was very nice and helpful as well. He tested my car battery and confirmed that it's dead. I purchased a battery, and he installed it right away free of charge. Everything went very smooth thanks to Rami. On May 20th 2020, I visited O'Reilly Auto Parts in Lake forest to purchase Engine Oil with the sole purpose of receiving a rebate which I saw was marketed online. Being a relatively new customer to O'Reilly, I have never purchased an Item with a rebate and was not familiar with the process.  The cashier that help assist me with my purchases was Justin, and not once did he inform me on the necessary steps to receive the rebate, all he said was that "it would come in the mail". Fast forward to July 10th 2020. I walk in to O'Reilly parts to purchase a new cabin air filter and inquire about not receiving my rebate for the purchase I made 2 months ago. The cashier told me that I had to submit a form in order to receive it and was sorry that the original cashier never told me to submit the necessary form. I asked to speak to the manager to see if there was anything they could do. Nick, the manager walked out and insured me that the promotion was still valid and that I could still submit my paperwork. When I get home, I notice that the form says that Nick and the cashier gave me said explicitly that the purchase must be from May 27th - June 23rd, which I then realized it was for the following month's promotion, which did not apply.  Were they too lazy to check my receipt to cross check what they were explaining to me? Or did they take the easy method of just giving me a form to fill out in order to get me out of the store? Driving back to the store again, I asked to speak with the manager Nick. I could see the cashier walk to the back of the store and address the manager (Nick) from where I was standing. I could clearly see Nick briefly talking to the cashier, brushing it off and not take the time to address it and then proceeded to walk out of the store. The cashier returned to me and explains that they "there's nothing that they can do" and that Nick, the manager has left for the day. From a Customer's perspective, I find it extremely disheartening that a manager of a store would not only take the time to make sure they are giving me the right information of an application to fill out for a different promotion, but decides to not take the time to make sure their customers are addressed properly when they are facing a problem that they initially created when they did not tell me to submit an application for a rebate. Please do not shop here, they do not value their customers time and will not bother to make sure their customers have all their questions answered. Worst customer service from a manager I have ever experienced. read more

Well organized store with a friendly staff. Kaitlin was very knowledgeable and helpful. I was looking at halogen bulbs when Kaitlin came by. I asked which one lasts the longest. She told me that the expected life is listed on each package, and that the better ones (brighter and more blue) tend to have shorter life expectancy due to the higher power output. Sure enough ... brighter = more power = shorter expected life, for halogen bulbs. I used to buy the more expensive halogen bulbs, thinking they would last longer. This time, I got the basic halogen bulb, and it's lasting longer than the more expensive ones. (Yes, I already knew not to get fingerprints on halogen bulbs, because the oil in the fingerprints will superheat that part of the bulb, and cause premature failure.) read more

On a Sunday doing errands for the house, my car refused to start in the Home Depot parking lot in Lake Forest. I tried calling around, but all automotive service stores are closed on Sundays. The best I could do was go to O'Reilly's (luckily it was in the adjacent lot). Went in and said I needed a new battery, but the manager said not to get a new battery until they run tests. That was logical (I'm not a car person, so I was grateful for the advice). They jumped my car, brought it back to the shop and tested my battery. They pointed out that they could sell me a new battery, but I still have multiple years left on my warranty from my last place (they pointed out the evidence on the battery). I asked how much for helping me out. They said nothing, they were happy enough to help out. They could have sold me anything since I'm ignorant on cars, but they didn't. They could have upsold me on anything, but they didn't because they're cool guys. That's what I'm talking about. They gave me service when I needed it the most. I am now a loyal fan of this store and my guys there, George, Sam and Jonathan (the Sunday fun crew) are my guys. 5/5 stars forever. I love this place. read more

Hands down best auto parts store in Lake Forest. Went in looking for front brakes for my 1953 Chevy 210. Kevin was very meticulous in finding the right shoes for my car. Come to find out, it had a different rear end, and Kevin took the extra time AFTER I had left the store to investigate what year rear end it was. Within 1/2 hour he called me and told me he found out which shoes I needed, and said they would be there by three o clock that day along with the wheel cylinders and brake hardware kit. He called about 3:30 and informed me the parts had arrived. Most places just look up a number and if it doesn't match they just tell you " well sorry, that's what it says" These employees really try to help you above and beyond! Hats off to you guys! Been in there 3 times in the past week and got a different answer on the part I ordered each time. First off, they ordered the wrong part for me. Second, they said they would call me back the next day if they can order it, then never called me back. Third, I called and asked if they could order the correct part for me and the guy said he would call me back in 5 minutes because he found the part but had to help a costumer in the store real quick but never returned my call, so I call back again an hour later and the response I got was "I can't order anything". I can't order anything is the best answer you can give me after you literally said you have my part? How hard is it to order ignition wires? Figure your crap out Oreillys and actually hire employees that know a thing or two. read more

This is my go-to store, normally. And normally, I don't have an issue with the folks, but today I walked in, got what I needed and walked to the counter. There was one customer (and the only other customer other than me) at the counter, but no clerk, so I walked around for a little bit more. When I came back, I asked the customer if anyone was around. He told me the clerk was in the back looking for an item for him. So, I walked around the store some more. When I came back, a staff member (Scott) was helping the guy, acknowledged me and so I walked around some more. It appeared Scott was by himself and the customer he was helping had a hard to find item. I was getting a tad impatient, but if Scott was by himself, I'd wait. To my surprise, another staff member came out from the back with a clipboard and walked over to a display case. Taking inventory? When there are only two customers in the store and you're walking around trying to kill time, it seemed as if I was in the store for nearly 10-minutes. Seemed that way. At any rate, it appeared nobody was all that interested in assisting me, so I returned the items I was going to purchase to their shelf and left the store. That is just not the way to treat a customer. Scott was obviously trying to help the only other customer in the store and it sure would have been good business for the other staff member to put down the clipboard and assist me.
