Came to try the raw marinated crabs in soy. It was my first time trying it and it tasted really good. Although I did not try to bite the claw with my teeth as I was worried about breaking my teeth. Almost every table has the crab as well as the Korean seafood pancake. It was huge and we had to take a lot home. I also really enjoyed the steam egg and the soon tofu with seafood, I got it less spicy and it was still a bit spicy for me. A few of my Korean friends introduced this place to me and I've been a few times to this location and the one at Finch. I love the homey Korean restaurant vibe. For the raw marinated crabs there's 2 options: either have it in soy sauce or a spicy sauce. The spicy sauce is yummy, but if you want to enjoy the crab flavour more, get the soy sauce version. Super savoury, creamy, and didn't have that unpleasant fishy smell that seafood sometimes has. Mixing rice in the crab shell for maximum roe and crab guts was a culinary delight. My only gripe with this was that we didn't have any tools to break/cut the legs and shell, so it was hard to get all the flesh out. While the crabs were on the smaller size (which is to be expected), it was so delicious! Tteokbokki: chewy rice cakes, spicy-sweet sauce, and fish cake slices. Don't be fooled by the appearance - it may look like a simple dish, but it is packed with flavour! Seafood soft tofu stew: there's nothing quite like a Korean stew to round out a meal. Served boiling hot in a cast iron pot (the proper way!) with a raw egg on top. This stew was a bit spicy, hearty, and you can't help but sigh/groan after that first sip. In terms of the restaurant and service, these were just ok. Service was efficient, but I wouldn't say it stood out. Having lived in the neighborhood for several years, I've revisited this restaurant a couple times. Their HaeMul PaJeon (seafood pancake) is consistently one of the best I've had in Toronto. Crispy, fluffy batter with a good amount of octopus, onion, and scallion, all alongside a delicious soy-based dipping sauce on the side. While this dish definitely hasn't dodged inflation (now $26), it's a must-order whenever I visit and is a great shareable for the table. However, I've come to realize that the rest of their menu is overpriced and doesn't really stand out. Their raw crab used to be their "known-for" delicacy dish but this is now offered by various other Korean restaurants and you can even buy it at H-mart! One item in particular that I'd actually recommend you avoid is the $22 Galbi Tang (beef rib soup) - when I ordered this, it only had 3 small pieces of beef rib and the meat was tough and chewy. It was so difficult to get the small pieces of meat off the bone that it wasn't even worth the effort. The rest of the soup was also lacking in flavor and was mainly compromised of vermicelli. It was pretty bare bones (literally) for the price. Another thing I've come to dislike about this restaurant is that they're very stingy on refills. In the past, we've been refused more than 1 refill on side dishes (even when the whole table is ordering at least one entree each, not including shareables). At my most recent visit, we were told no more refills on our complimentary tableside tea! How ridiculous! For a menu that already seems overpriced, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth that they'd cheap on out on things like tea and side dishes. Like everyone else, I came here for the crabs! They were really good but incredibly difficult to open with just our gloved hands. They were creamy and a little sweet, and the soy sauce was really delicious. It probably would have tasted amazing on rice too, but it was easier to suck the meat out than to get it out with my fingers. I thought I'd enjoy the one marinated in red sauce more, but I actually preferred the soy marinated one. It was all quite a bit salty, but wow that crab meat is so delicious and sweet. It's got a similar texture to raw shrimp if you've ever had that at sushi. At $26+ per crab dish, it was a bit of a treat for us, but given that it's unique to this restaurant, I'd say well worth it. We also ordered the first set meal which came with mackerel, seafood pancake, army stew, and kalbi short ribs. The ribs were good and the army stew was quite a bit spicier than expected. Lots of seating, we went during lunch time and there was only a table of people occupied. Their menu is extensive, offering a variety of common Korean eats that other Korean restaurants have as well. From what I have seen lately, this place is one of the few restaurants that offer raw crab in the GTA which has been trending a lot online. Some of the dishes we got was fried chicken katsu and stir fried chicken with vegetables. Prices were a bit more expensive than we expected but portions were not bad. The crab was fresh and not fishy (almost every table was eating this) and pretty affordable. Finally got to try some Ganjang Gejang - absolutely in love! For those who haven't tried, Jung Soo Ne offers the delicious marinated raw crabs! Make sure to order both the soy sauce (Ganjang Gejang) and the spicy (Yangnyeom Gejang). The dishes use a small blue crab for marination, which is left raw for the process. It results in a deliciously sweet crab meat that's soft and tender. The Ganjang Gejang comes with 2 crabs inclusive of the top shells. Make sure to squeeze all the crab meat out from the body and mix it with your rice! The top shells also come with an insane amount of tomalley - a sweet, orange paste-like part of the crab that you don't want to miss out on. The Yangnyeom Gejang comes with 3 crabs, but no top shells. A big contrast to the soy marination, but the Jung Soo Ne does it really well as to not overpower the taste of the fresh raw crab itself. Get both, but maybe you'll agree with me that the Ganjang Gejang is better! I'm just a sucker for the tomalley. During the summer, Jung Soo Ne also offers a seasonal, refreshing naengmyeon (cold noodles). The ice cold broth is much needed on a hot, humid day. It's honestly comparable to another authentic Korean restaurant nearby in the area, so I wouldn't mind coming here just for the naengmyeon either! We've been here twice so far and have been very impressed both times. The staff here are great and the service is pretty fast. They give five different appetizers and are willing to refill them all which was really nice. We originally wanted to try this place for their famous raw crab, so we tried the Spicy Raw Marinated Crab. I guess it shouldn't be too surprising that it was very spicy; in hindsight we probably would have enjoyed the soy marinated crab more. However, it was nice to try once and had a very unique gooey texture. I am a huge Bibimbap fan so I was eager to try it here. I was very pleased with just how much meat and vegetables they load in the bowl and it's all very fresh. Additionally, they give the spicy sauce on the side so you can add exactly as much as you want! We love soups so we've also ordered SoonDuBu JjiGae, the spicy tofu soup with seafood. It has a good amount of spiciness and a very flavourful broth. It's loaded with tofu and seafood so really is exactly what we hoped for. I've never had DdeokBokki before so we gave that a try and also really enjoyed it! It's funny to watch each other try to eat it since the rice cakes are super slippery. The sauce was pretty flavourful and although we liked the fish cakes in it, they were huge pieces which were a little tough to eat. Overall our first two visits have been amazing and I doubt it will be long before we return. Friendly mom and pop shop with Korean raw crabs! If you're dining here you're most likely here for the Korean raw crabs and they do not disappoint at all! Staff are super friendly and helpful when ordering and bringing food to our table. The interior of the restaurant is not most aesthetically pleasing but the food is great. They don't take reservations at all so it's a walk in only. We arrived at the restaurant around 630PM for a table for 6 people, the wait was short and we got a table shortly after. But the line up started piling up at the door. Side dishes were really great. The kimchi was a bit on the sour side. But they had other things such as fish cake, bean sprouts, seaweed and potatoes. Things we ordered: Bulgogi clear noodle soup 8.5/10 A punch of sweetness in the soup with beef and clear noodles. Great for sharing as I think the sweetness of the soup would be heavy to eat as you continue dining. Hot pot soon du bu 7/10 Spicy! This comes served on top of a stove and boils table top to ensure the soup is bubbly hot! It's on the spicier side for me and I found myself not being able to really eat too much of this. Hot pot gamjatang 10/10 Loved this dish. This also came served on top of a stove and served on table top. This gamjatang had clear noodles on top which were a nice touch. Flavours were great and the perfect spice level. My only complaint with this is that there was hardly any broth/ soup. We had to ask for more broth as it was all meat. Seafood pancake 10/10 Super tasty with lots of ingredients inside the pancake. Pan fried to perfection and had a really good dipping sauce. Just make sure not to dip too much as the sauce is on the saltier side. Korean raw crabs: 10/10 The main star and dish of this restaurant. The crabs are raw and come in an order of 2 crabs. They are marinated in a soy sauce marinade and pair perfectly with rice. The best description of this is that it's slimy but with a very fresh, golden seafood taste. The only thing I think the restaurant can do better at is cutting the crab in half. It's really hard to eat when the crab is not cut in half yet so we tried cracking it ourselves which is super messy and could easily splatter. We had gloves to eat the crabs though which was nice. I was craving this since I first had it in LA. I don't usually have access to this living in Austin, so I'm glad I could try this when visiting Toronto! I went with my two cousins and we shared an order of the soy marinated crab, the seafood pancake, and bossum. The crab was small portion but the pancake was huge! The thickest I've seen seafood pancakes. We also got a few side dishes. The crab was good, nice and sweet. However we didn't get gloves so that was a little messy. We had to ask for scissors which helped a bit. It was nice to mix the rice with the crab head. As another reviewer mentioned, it might be nice for the restaurant to help split the crab before serving. I had been wanting to try Korean raw marinated crab for a long time, but since I am from Seattle, there wasn't any in my area. Once I found out there was a restaurant in the Toronto area, I immediately put it on my list of places I wanted to go to, and this definitely satisfied my craving! The spot is a little far from the downtown area, but definitely worth the trip. We arrived pretty late, around 8 pm, and still had to wait 15 minutes for a table. The waitress was extremely friendly and gave us a menu when we asked for it to look at while waiting. We ordered both the soy sauce and spicy versions of the crab. And the seafood pancake because my partner isn't a big seafood or spicy person. I personally enjoyed the soy sauce version. It had the right amount of flavor without covering up the original taste of the crab. It also came with the body shell of the crab, which is perfect to mix your rice into. Both versions were extremely fresh and had a good texture. I was not disappointed by my very first raw crab experience. The seafood pancake was also extremely exceptional. It had a lot of pieces of squid, crab, etc inside of it, making it extremely tasty. If you are hoping to try raw crab, I would definitely recommend making the way to this place! After reading the reviews, we decided to give this place a try. We were immediately seated after checking in. The restaurant is big, but not overwhelmingly so, with tables and booths covering every inch of the polished wooden floor. Pictures of food are taped to the walls along with signs that warn customers of allergens that could be present in the food. Large, powered-off sconces that resemble street lights hang over each of the booths as well. We ordered the following: D1 GamJaTang- pork bone soup. (Boiled pork neck bone). This was hubs' favorite. He was craving something soupy. D2 Dolsot Bibimbap- assorted vegetables with ground beef and fried egg on rice in hot stone bowl. It's served with a spicy gochujang sauce. This was pretty good, also. I love the fact that you can make crispy rice on the hot stone bowl. C5 Haemul PaJeon- Korean style pancake with assorted seafood and green scallions. We liked this a lot because there was plenty of seafood in the pancake. All the entrees were small portions. I got used to seeing big portions in the US and was surprised when I saw this. I saw some people eating raw crabs and was tempted but didn't do it. The place was run by one guy but I'm pretty sure the kitchen had multiple people working in there. When we got here, there were plenty of tables available. But, they were all taken by the time we were ready to leave. Service was quick. This was perfect and the tofu was silky. 10/10 The restaurant itself presents like an older establishment but has its charm. We ordered the soy sauce marinate - salty by itself, but paired with rice and side dishes is good. It does have an acquired taste with a slimy texture. It was $14.99 for 2 crabs, and it comes with rice. Something to try. Korean seafood pancake was huge, great for sharing, and had lots of seafood in it - good app! I had lunch here with my parents and overall it was good, but because I can't eat sesame seeds I was very limited in what I could eat, as they marinade almost everything in sesame seeds - like I couldn't eat any of their banchan/side dishes :( We ordered the seafood pancake ($17.99), beef bulgogi ($15.99) and sweet and sour deep fried chicken ($20.99) - this dish is usually with pork, but they were ok to substitute chicken. We originally wanted to get the fried chicken with sweet and spicy sauce but we were told that the sauce contained sesame seeds, so the lady recommended the sweet and sour sauce. My mom also wanted to get the giant dumplings (I think they are called Wang Mandu), but they said they don't serve them anymore. They give you 6 banchan/side dishes here. I will just list them because I couldn't eat them since every single one was marinaded in sesame seeds. My dad loved them though. Kimchi, bean sprouts, eggplant, wakame seaweed, gosari namul, and tofu. I couldn't eat the beef bulgogi either because it too was marinaded in sesame seeds. I did notice that the portion size was a bit small and there was more liquid in the dish than I've seen at other locations. My mom was not thrilled by the beef bulgogi. The seafood pancake was big, thick and full of green onions, squid and shrimp. It was good, but a bit oily. The fried chicken with sweet and sour sauce was tasty. We got the sauce on the side. The chicken was boneless thigh meat, which I realize most people like because it is more flavourful and juicy, but I personally prefer the leaner breast meat. The batter was not crispy but rather soft and slightly chewy, a bit reminiscent of choux pastry, but obviously not choux pastry, lol. The dish was garnished with pieces of raw carrots and raw apples. Service was courteous. The wait time for the food was a bit long though. I wish I was able to eat more items there. Came here for a late lunch after our weekend hike. The food did not disappoint! We love marinated crab and this is one of the only places in Toronto that serves this item. The pork bone soup was extremely flavorful with large chunks of pork neck bone. You can taste the nutty flavor of the perilla seeds. It's exactly what you need on a chilly day. Both the spicy and soy marinated crabs were really good. The spicy crabs were very impressive because flavor profile was way more complex than just gocharu. I loved it. If you cannot take spicy, I would skip the spicy one. Try at least one of the marinated crab dishes here. Make sure to mix some of your rice in the crab shell - flavor bomb! Only complaint is it would have been nice if they offered us scissors to cut the crabs at the get go. I only realized after eating and by then a mess had already been made. The first time I tried the raw crab and felt impressive from the decoration to the taste. Certainly will come again.

Clean and cozy area for dining. Food was good, served one by one. Food portion was also good for two/three people if shared. The side dishes were also well seasoned -seaweed, sweet potato, kimchi, soybean sprout and seasoned tofu. For two, we ordered: Gamjatang - sometimes a hit or miss for us but this one delivers. Soup is not as thick but is flavourful. The meat is also the right tenderness that it slides off the bone right away. Tangsuyuk - right balance of sweet and sourness. The addition of the apple is great way to cleanse the palate. Seafood Pancake - the best pancake that i have tried. The crunch on every bite is delightful and it is not salty but very tasty. Lots of squid pieces on this pancake too. You can enjoy this with or without the dipping sauce. Soy Marinated Raw Crab - Surprisingly good. The marinade compliments the crab and as a first time eater of raw crabs, the soy sauce made it less scary to eat. read more

Their marinated raw crab and crab soup is TDF!!! Small shop with a small allotted amount of parking spaces. But worth the wait if your a raw crab fan. read more

The food is generally good. But I did not like how the owner left the door opened for 2 times when it was cold and windy, when we complained he just nodded head and left. He closed the door but after almost another minute. It was 9pm and they closed at 9:30pm on Sunday. However, the server came with a bill and the machine to rush us to pay because "there is no more customer so we close early". What about us? Who were still eating and will definitely pay? We asked for to-go containers and he was walking around and looking at our table to make sure we are packing the left over food and leave. What a horrible experience. P/s: if the owner responds that we gave feedbacks to the wrong location, no worries I got you! I have the bill with time on it, I have payment record on my card that I can show to proof to you that I was there! You're making money in Canada, even somewhere else, be nice and treat people well! This was a must-go spot on my trip to Toronto and it was absolutely worth the extra time we spent to get there. Their crabs were in season and amazing!! Just the right amount of saltiness. Just look at the photos and those who love this dish will know exactly what I'm talking about.. (O.O). Go there now while the crabbies are still in season, you'll thank me for it.
