The stores nearby making it very convenient to shop here. They have some interesting items so selection is good. I only gave it two stars because the cashier and the managers seem to not understand the fine print with regard to ace rewards and offers . Rewards can be combined they are like cash. You don't have to buy something of greater value in order to utilize your reward. I'm attaching the fine print because Matt and Sean seemed to think they were doing me a favor when I caught them making me pay for something extra in order to reach a certain amount to be able to utilize my rewards. When I brought the fine print to their attention, they acted like they were doing me a favor to give me the reward that I should've been given without having to buy anything extra to reach $25. Do not go inside this store if you are concerned about mask usage. Use curbside service! I subtracted one star from an otherwise 5 star review because one of the emoyees today (big man with head shaved or perhaps bald) walked down the center aisle with his mask over his mouth but not covering his nose at all. When I was ready to check out, I wasn't too worried because the lady cashier was wearing a mask but alas, the same man was there and his mask still didn't cover his nose. Masks over mouth alone really aren't as effective. 5 stars for the curbside service. I order online and they are the BEST! They load it into my car and wear masks! Super courteous and helpful! Omicron is spreading like wildfire, Delta is still an issue, and almost all staff in this small store are maskless. Mask use is not encouraged among customers, either, and most aren't wearing them. We are all connected to each other. There is no excuse for this reckless behavior. When we weren't in a pandemic, I thought it was a decently stocked store near my home that offered good, polite customer service. I would like to shop local. This has been my go to hardware store for years because of proximity. I also frequent it because help is easier to get than at a big box store and because if I only need 2 screws I don't have to buy a box. Customer service is a mixed bag, sometimes the store rep is great other times not so much. Today the older gentlemen was very thorough and after we determined the size tap I needed found they do not stock it. He was good enough to refer me to Stadium Hardware (5 stars but long drive). Regardless I was troubled that two of the older, and certainly more likely at risk, store employees were not wearing masks. read more

Poor customer service. Nearly every time that I go there I feel judged. They ask me questions as though I don't know what I'm doing, and clearly have not had any customer service training. Earlier tonight while shopping with my son, we bought several items totaling about $150. After loading up my car, one of the employees met me at my door in the lot and claimed that "I never presented the grill mat" when purchasing. This was news to me and I clearly had my hands full with my 4 year old. Instead of calmingly stating that he needed to ring it up and that it wasn't a big deal (which it wasn't). I was told to take it back out of my car and go into the store (rudely). Once in the store, I apologized for the oversight (apparently the oversized, under grill mat was hidden upon checkout - it's about 2.5 feet by 4 feet, big). Nonetheless, they rang it up and remained silent while I said have a good night. Even my son asked me why they were so mad - he's 4! It was a $20 item, and I buy there all the time. I think I'll drive the extra 10 minutes to the big box stores to avoid the a$$holes at Jungas in the future. It's attitude like this that makes all the difference. I can't even fathom why they thought that I would try to steal such a huge, awkward item right under their noses... while holding hands with my son! read more

Hard to get help in this store! I stopped in and couldn't find what I was looking for. After several workers looked at me and kept going, I went to the checkout, and she called for help. The younger worker helped me and I proceeded to checkout. The worker asked for my phone number, which he asked for several times, because "he couldn't understand me because of the mask I was wearing!" Please! The woman next to him snickered! What the hell! Love the service from the staff. Stop by once a month for minor projects around the house. I have asked a lot of dumb questions over the years, they never looked at me funny. They just did their best to answer my questions and tried to help me. I did install some gas line for my new house 3 years ago. Terrible customer service! I always try to shop here to support business. I am a small 5' 1'' woman, I went in with my 80 year old grandmother and my sick father to buy 10 40 lb bags of rock salt, asked the gentleman at the front to help us load them into my truck (granted it is curbside), but they are still heavy for me. He said it was too cold and he didn't have a coat on and that we looked strong enough to lift them ourselves. I was so mad that I loaded them by myself and he came out to "help" but we had finished on our own. This store has a TERRIBLE service model and they should be ashamed. I went into this Ace store in Saline to get a key made last week, unfortunately I had to go back because it didn't work and wasn't keyed correctly. I informed them that it was a real inconvenience as I had out of town relatives coming in the middle of the night and no one would be at the home when they arrived. The relatives couldn't enter and had to find a hotel in the middle of the night. I was approached by Sneevley (aka the Owner's son) and he flat out yelled at me and told me " Don't take it out on me...it's not my fault" and then "he told me not bring in my nasty attitude to his store". Not only did he accost me, he verbally abused me and followed me out of the store into the parking lot towards my vehicle. He thought it would be wise to be-little and demean me while chasing me through the parking lot after trying to take a picture of my vehicle and my license plate number. I filed a police report PLEASE AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COST!!!!! read more

I've been here a handful of times and they have always been helpful. Friendly...not so much, but it's a hardware store for goodness sake. They are good place if you need a common item or two. If you want smiles then you can't possibly tell me that Home Depot or Lowes will provide that for you. I read the reviews with interest and people either loved it or hated it. Yelp is accurate and there wasn't much middle ground in what people wrote. Here's my experience: I walked in on a Saturday afternoon. Yes, there were four older guys hanging out at the cashier area. But I heard them belt out, "You need help?" a dozen times in the five minutes I was in the store. I was also doing some moderately difficult plumbing for my house and Tom came over to see what I was up to. He passed up on the (rather) attractive young woman in yoga pants to help me. I was helped. He gave me an option which involved not buying anything from them, said it was the easier way to go and I didn't need to spend the few dollars at the store and it's good experience. I thanked him, walked out, and went home to work on my project. The store is not big and it might not have specialty items but I was within arm's reach of three replacement parts for what I wanted. I was given some attention, I got an answer that didn't make me pay any money, and I'll be back. No one said good bye to me on the way out, but I didn't care. read more

Very Poor Customer Service at this Ace Hardware! This is not the usual Ace that I shop at. My husband and I always shop at the Ace in Tecumseh (Martin's Home Center), where they go out of their way to help you, are courteous, and professional. I can't say the same about Jungas Ace! I stopped there last week to pick up a gift card for my husband for Christmas. I was going thru town and it happened to be more convenient at the time, rather than driving to Tecumseh Ace. What a terrible experience I had while at Jungas! The young guy who tried to ring up my sale was having a hard time, as the gift card wouldn't activate. He asked the older man who was standing there to help, but he said he didn't know how to do it and plopped down on a stool. He then called another man up (not sure if it was the owner or not, he didn't even say hello to me or anything). Neither of them apologized to me for the inconvenience, and basically acted like I wasn't there. And here I was spending $75 in their store! Finally they decided to try and re-ring the sale, and use a different gift card. All of this involved re-doing the entire transaction. No apology, no thank you, no happy holidays NOTHING! They will NEVER, ever get my business again! If you can't say hello to your customers, apologize for any inconveniences, thank them for their purchases, etc, then you should not be in business! read more

Purchased a 19mm 1/2 craftsmen deep socket but once I was home I found I did not need it so of course I decided to return it. Well I start the process and was told that they do not return sockets because people use them and return them and we "do not rent tools". The manager said that came straight from the owner and I told Tom (manager) that it was not used and has no scratches and he looked at the outside and inside. I said look at the inside and as it is a tool the outside will get scuffed but the inside had clearly shows it has not been used. He hemmed and hawed and I pointed out that no where does it say no returns so he reluctantly returned it but that he should not. I understand that people do this and he said it happens all the time but that to be honest is not my concern though I understand and if that is a policy then it needs to be stated somewhere. If that is the policy then put it on the receipt and on the wall or do not sell them anymore as they are locked in a cage so that is the time for the helpful hardware man to mention the policy. When you sell tools I suppose that is the risk you take but I will not buy anything else there again as I tried to support them instead of Lowe's or Home Depot. They are also not the friendliest group either as I have purchased things before but again I have no idea what is returnable and do not want the crappy attitude. I also tried to return a bolt that was $1.59 but it seems the part rung up was not the correct one so I was not even going to fight about it. I have shopped here for a while and occasionally feel like I am somehow bothering them when I shop here. Customer service is inconstant and spotty once in a while it is good and occasionally very bad. I finally gave up shopping here this week. I was walking through the store with a pvc pipe which was long and awkward. They set up a display in the center isle of the store with a glass item they put on the top shelf of that display. It fell off the shelf when my pvc pipe brushed it. I apologized and they ignored me- even though they decided to put a glass item sticking out into the isle. At the checkout I said something again and the white haired older lady said how many things did you break over there. I already felt bad, but she wanted me to really feel bad about it and after some retrospect I don't need that in my life. I am remodeling a very large home in Saline. I actually own numerous properties in the area and have spent a bunch of $$ at this store. This week alone we spent $400 in paint. It is a nice store that has potential if they would only decide they are here to provide their customers a service and treat them well. Until that happens I will drive a little further and go to Chelsea lumber and see if they have what I need and if they don't I'll head to a big box store. I'll try them again after they sell or management changes. read more

So I told him I was going to check with Home Depot since he didn't know the exact price of his product and if they could give me a good price I was going to write them off for this item. Received terrible treatment from the owners son. Steve. Sales person tried to upsell and I told him I just wanted what I came in for. He said there's no fix for stupid. proceeded to sell me the wrong product. and when I returned and made the same statement he made to me, Steve said the salesman says stuff like that all the time, and told me to leave or calling the police. Wish I had let him. I have worked for over 30 years in customer service at a lumber yard in Ann Arbor, am 69 years old, and never talked to a customer like this. Little bit of power gone to his head. I have purchased many products there. Never will again and telling everyone I know how I was treated. Made rude remarks all the way back up to the register to refund my money. WORST hardware store! Employees just stand around near the cashiers counter bull shitting and don't give a damn about customer service. I don't shop there because they have high prices and customer service sucks so i don't mind driving the extra miles to go to home depot. My neighbor who is a licensed builder even says the same thing that this place is a joke with prices. Went there yesterday ( May 27) because I had bought a Stihl blower there about 2 years ago ( has the Junga ACE sticker on it) and I was having an issue with it. I just wanted a new spark plug for it to see if that would work and I couldn't get the spark plug out. I went there and told one person what I wanted and he said see the service technician in the back. I walked over to the back and an employee TOM asked did I need service and I said I just need someone to take out the spark plug and put a new one in. He said, "you have to drop it off". He said we have several other customers in front of you. I said, really drop it off? It will take you 5 minutes to do it. He then brought me to their little repair shop in the back and showed me the tool that is suppose to be in the packet when i bought the blower to get the spark plug out. I said, i can't find it thats why i am here. He gives me an attitude and then puts a new spark plug in. From the time I walked in to walking out it was 10 minutes and they wanted me to drop it off and have to wait days for a 5 minute job. IF YOU WANT AN ATTITUDE FROM THE EMPLOYEES THEN YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE!!! This is the ONLY time I would come there since I bought this item from them. Now, I will just go to the lawn mower repair shop and get it fixed without the attitude and hassle. read more

Came in just before close last night needing a few items. One employee kept telling me to hurry up but didn't offer to help find things. I pointed out I was a paying customer and he berated me even harder. Did not expect that kind of treatment and was aggravated the rest of the evening. By the way, I was out of the store 4 minutes after closing time. I like the location and selection. Normally the staff is friendly and helpful and I get what I need much quicker than I do at the big box stores. The rude employee claimed the owner was adamant they close on time. As with all stores one day you go in and you can't seem to find anyone to give you a hand. The next time is the total opposite. It really depends on who is working that day. I've had nothing but good service regardless of the day because most of the time, even if I don't need the help there is always someone there who will help if I just ask. This Ace in particular seems to try to hire older, perhaps retired, individuals which is nice to see. I've compared pricing here as well and their prices are right in line with most other stores. I noticed they were even cheaper than Home Depot on their Fiskers tools. I'd recommend this store to anyone. read more

very bad customer service. I recently bought a Stihl chainsaw, which had starting issues. I brought it back two times and they always told me that I flooded it and therefore they would not honor the warranty that I have bought. I always started the chainsaw according the manual. If the chainsaw would have started, it would not be flooded. Management did not understand this logic. After intensive internet research I found out that these chainsaws with "easy start" feature have an issues with flooding the cylinder with fuel if pulled more than two times at full throttle. read more
