Live music on Friday and Saturday!!! Excellent vibe!

Love the vibes here love the drinks and the live music. The only thing I will say is if you are ordering hot wings just know it is not your traditional hot. There is a dry rub before the hot sauce and it may be hotter than most would like. Otherwise everything is charming!

Hands down the best fried pickles I have ever had! I was heading through the area recently and this place was on my list of breweries to stop at. The main street that it is located on is quaint and has that unique small town America vibe, which I love and is lined with several local small businesses that seem to take a lot of pride in what they do. I was happy I stopped here because it ended up being just the kind of place I love and come back to again and again. There is public plenty of paid parking beside the building, but it's also free depending on the time and day you go. I love the exterior of this business and the garage door that opens in the front for a nice breeze and view of the city street is a nice added touch. We ordered a flight of beer and every beer was cold and tasty and of course I've already told you about those damn fried pickles I could live on. The bartender was friendly and very helpful and the patrons who were there on the day we stopped were all having a good time. Good sign :) If you are ever driving through the area definitely made it a point to stop in and check this place out because like me you will be glad you did, I promise! See you next time, Sláinte!

I'm glad I gave this place another shot. Beer selection was local, and pretty good. We had food while we were here, it was pretty good as well. They had trivia night at 7PM which seemed fun. No table service, order at the bar. Everyone seemed friendly.

Great spot for live music, a beer, and tasty food! My friend and I came in on a Saturday evening around 530. There was a good amount of seating available. You order up at the bar and they bring the food out to you. I had a 4 beer flight and the fried pickles. My favorite beer was definitely the blood orange wheat! I went back and got another pint of that The fried pickles are spears and they were so good! The breading had flavor and the spicy aioli for dipping was perfect. It wasn't really spicy, if you're afraid of heat. My friend had the grapefruit hefe and the blood orange wheat, as well, and loved both. She also ordered the loaded fries and they were as advertised- cheesy & bacon-y. The space is super welcoming. They had live music coming in at 8pm and the crowd was really filling in by 7-730. The bathroom was clean, had an industrial style vibe, the sink is this cool copper type, there were plenty of paper towels & soap. Will definitely be back to try a pretzel bun burger I saw go by

Good variety of bar food, to include fan favorites of fried pickles, wings (only flats options!) and grilled cheese! They had about 8 house beers on draft and local wine. Beer flights available - 4 for $10 or 8 for $20. Staff were helpful and offered samples too. Vibe was laid back. Community seating in the middle of the small bar would be ideal for a large group.

Had a great experience at Rusty Gold Brewing! Called to see if they were dog friendly since we had been out hiking with our dogs and had them with us. The wonderful woman that answered the phone could not have been nicer! She stated that they could not accommodate us in the brewery, but were happy to set tables out front for us. We decided to try it and so glad we did! Great beer, great food and AMAZING customer service! We will be back!

Hard to believe that my last review here was over four years ago. Things have changed a little…read moresince then, but it's still a cool place. I have cut back on my beer drinking, so it has been a while since I was here last. The impetus for today's visit was to try out the "On the Hook" Fish & Chips Food Truck. I had heard that "Steve & Benny's," the restaurant that shares the same space as the brewery, recently closed. In the interim, Recon has been hosting a variety of food trucks until they find someone to re-open the kitchen. I enjoyed an "Ease his Pain" NE IPA along with my fish and chips. The beer was very good (the fish and chips was just O.K.). Cheers!

They replied the next day with their condolences and confirmed that they would accommodate my request. We ended up needing to arrive early because the ceremony ended earlier than expected and everyone in our dining party loved about an hour away. So, we called to ask if that would be possible and they kindly agreed to seat us early/have our table ready. Upon arriving, the service was great; with our waitress providing prompt service and continuously checking-in on us (taking our order and refilling drinks). While we waited for our meals they provided us with complimentary homemade chips and dip. That was so nice, and we all enjoyed them! Our food was served about 30 minutes after ordering (which is pretty good given that it was for 8 people), and everything was as ordered. I enjoyed my meal (I had the chicken sandwich) as did everyone seated near me. I'd definitely recommend eating here as they definitely seem like genuinely nice people trying to provide a great experience for their patrons! (I didn't try any of the beers because I had an hour long drive ahead of me after a long day, but the food alone is worth stopping in for)

A Hidden Gem in Washington, PA!…read more The Washington Brewing Company is the real deal! You can absolutely taste the love in every beer--they clearly take pride in their craft. Each brew we tried was smooth, flavorful, and uniquely their own. We shared a few appetizers and every bite was fantastic, but the fried zucchini sticks were the standout--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Definitely a must-try! Their happy hour is a great deal, and the atmosphere is just what you'd want in a local brewery: relaxed, welcoming, and fun. The location is spot-on--easy to get to, with plenty of space inside and out. To top it all off, the staff have been incredible--knowledgeable about the beers, super friendly, and genuinely fun to talk to. It's the kind of place where you feel like a regular, even if it's your first time. We'll definitely be back. Cheers to great beer and even better people!

I have been to Washington more times than I can county yet I hadn't been here yet for some odd reason but we decided to change that on the way to the airport. Before arriving me and my gf were rather hungry so we were looking on Yelp for a place to eat before deciding to stop in here for a quick bite and a cold beer on a smoking hot day. Upon arrival it seemed like a cool place and had plenty of parking behind the business. Although once we entered the business the atmosphere seemed kind of off and unappealing. Everyone looked pissed off or unfriendly. The servers weren't much better if I am being honest, which I always am when leaving reviews. We sat at the bar for a few minutes before I had to ask a girl who was too busy chatting away with another girl for a menu and water. We needed someone to cool us off immediately due to it being extremely hot outside. TBH: nothing is more of a put off than entering a business you are about to spend money in and seeing the wait staff on their phones ignoring the people who are there to help them make money cause God forbid you don't tip someone 20% who are on Instagram 85% of the time you are there and instead of asking if you need anything else while you are constantly saying, can I have another this or that. SMH! The wait staff here seemed all over the place and it wasn't even busy when we stopped in. I guarantee every single person who was working was behind the bar at some point and we either had to ask for more water, more sour cream, more whatever; that's annoying! We started off by ordering a flight of beer and that seemed like a whole job in itself to the waitress. Then we decided to go with the nachos. Which I must say took way too long to arrive considering there was only 8-10 people max while we were there and easily 5-6 waiters and 2-3 bartenders. The beer was good and the nachos were pretty decent as well. Neither was anything to write home about but they did their job. Another thing I did notice about this place is it seemed grimmy and more of a bar than an actual brewery. Most of the time when a brewery needs to serve liquor it just doesn't have great beer or great brewery vibes that us brewery lovers go for and we rarely return, sadly. There was nothing welcoming about this place and with the food being just decent and the wait staff not being of the greatest in the personality and service categories I'd say there is a 99% chance we won't return or recommend this place to any of our friends or colleagues. Thanks and good luck :)

Had my first visit here on a Friday evening this past August. We met a few of our friends here to…read moreenjoy a night out with some beer, food, and live music. I have previously heard of Truss and seen them around the community at different events, but was excited to finally try them at their storefront. Truss Brewing Company is located in Pleasant Hills, just off of Route 51. This building has been other businesses throughout the years before Truss took over. It is clearly marked and easy to locate. There is a private parking lot in the rear, but they will have it closed off and filled with tables during the summer months. However, there are other lots and parking options surrounding the building along Old Clairton if this is the case when you visit. We arrived just after 7:00, and the place was packed! They had the back parking lot closed off for seating, but luckily we found a spot right in front. There is no indoor seating here, as they advertise the business to be take-out only. Therefore, you can order online or through some delivery services if you truly are taking the order to-go. However, if you are "dining in," you can order at the counter inside. They will give you an order number, and then call the order number outside for you to come retrieve. First, we made our way inside to place an order. There was a decent line that went out the door, but we made it through that in about 10 minutes. Ordering was straight-forward, as the menu is not terribly long. For the beers, there were some different size options. Also, they sold reusable cans, crowlers, growlers, and mini kegs that can be brought back and refilled. In addition to the made-to-order food and beer, there are some snacks, grocery items, non-alcoholic drinks, and merchandise all for sale. After placing our order, we made our way to the back parking lot to find some seating. As stated, there was a live band performing and the place was pretty full. However, we did manage to get a table. There were picnic-style tables, as well as some bar-height seating. I also saw some patrons bring their own lawn chairs, so that is an option as well! The atmosphere outside was very lively. The music was good, there were a lot of groups socializing and having a good time, and there were some yard games set up on the one side of the lot. Definitely a nice spot to bring the family or meet up with some friends if the weather is nice. The wait from ordering to when we got our food was about 30 minutes. I know the food is prepared in-house, and is not generic restaurant pre-made-type food, so this is reasonable considering that. My fiance and I split a few dishes between us. We ordered the Chilled Colossal Shrimp, the Big Fat "Wings," and the Wood Fries Parm Crusted. The Chilled Colossal Shrimp came with 5 and a nice dipping sauce. I love cold shrimp, so this was my favorite dish. The Big Fat "Wings" are chicken drumsticks prepared like wings. Since it is a different cut, you get a lot of meat for your money. We ordered them with the buffalo sauce on the side as well. They were tasty, and again, a great way to make your dollar stretch for a lot of meat! The Wood Fries Parm Crusted are unique, as they are very thick cut. It is probably over a whole potato's worth of fries, so plenty to share. My fiance loves thick-cut fries like this, so he thought these were great. We enjoyed the food overall! For my beer, I ordered the Mortar, which is an American Brown Ale. I usually prefer a brown/red/amber-type of pour, so this was right up my alley. It was a nice sipper to have throughout the night. In terms of value, I think some items have a much better value than others. Specifically, I thought the fries and the chicken were very much worth the money. I personally did not order a pizza this trip, but some of those seemed to be slightly expensive to me personally. Despite that, you can make it worth your dollar depending on what you order and what you are looking for most. Since this place is take-out only, I truly did not have a ton of interaction with the staff, except for when I put my order in. I had no issues regarding this, though I feel as though I did not have enough interaction to make a comment on this aspect of the trip either way. Likely due to all of the seating being outside, the business is dog-friendly! We brought our dog, and he enjoyed socializing with the patrons and many other dogs who were there as well. This was a great place to spend a sunny August evening! I enjoyed the beer, food, and atmosphere at Truss. We loved the live music, and learned on this trip that they regularly hold a trivia night and other events as well. The only downside is that this experience is seasonal, and weather-dependent. However, the food and beer are available year-round, so you can give that a try anytime. I would recommend checking this place out with the warmer months quickly approaching!
