Great staff combined with great coffee and pistachio muffins make this place great!

This place is nothing short of amazing. The coffee is excellent; one the best cold brews I have ever had, possibly the best. Also, I would strongly recommend you try the protein balls! They were amaze-balls ;) The cafe itself is very quaint and accommodating and has games you can play to pass the time while enjoying your java. Got my butt handed to me in Uno a couple of times, but it was fun. Last but certainly not least, was the customer service. It was top notch and the staff is super friendly! Ordered some stuff to go and waited longer than usual but it was a simple mistake of the staff not being able to locate me since I took off my sweatshirt. The girl at the counter apologized and comped my smoothie and extra protein ball. Completely unexpected and not necessary but definitely thoughtful and much appreciated! Customer for life here! If you are ever in the Westerly area, do yourself a favor and go here for your cup of Joe, you will not be disappointed. But if you do go and plan to stay for a little while (which I recommend), go early, cause the parking lot gets full fast! Next time i'm in RI, I look forward to coming here again! This is our favorite coffee shop! We love their protein balls (if you love peanut butter!) And love their cold brew (super smooth!) and other specialty coffees! They do specialty drinks and update them from time to time too! Their donuts are basic. The cheddar and chive biscuit is okay but they give you a good amount of butter to smother it with. We enjoy their cannolis. I have had their cannoli latte, peanut butter latte, snickers latte, cinnamon roll latte and charcoal latte-all pretty good! Enjoyed the snickers and cinnamon roll one the most! The peanut butter bomb is okay, thought the cake was a little dry. Staff is always friendly and they also offer a stamp card that will get you a discount off your next coffee or purchase! They have an awesome outdoor area too! Stopped randomly at this coffee spot. The outside patio is real cute with the ordering window. The decor is very eclectic and it's nice and relaxing on the patio seating. I ordered my chai online. It was ready in the matter of minutes. During covid they are doing curbside. You order right online, pull in the parking lot, call the number and they deliver right to your car. I love how homey it is. I didn't really get a chance to look at everything inside, since there was a line, and we were in and out fast, but it's a very nice looking place. Pretty small, but there's a few tables inside, and two huts in the outside. My sister and I got lucky enough to go in one! That was pretty cool. They have a variety of drinks, but not much when it comes to food. The only "food" is a bagel with cream cheese, other than that they have desserts. The glazed donut was probably one of the best I've tasted, and honestly everything I got was good. Especially the smoothie! We were on our way back from Martha's Vineyard and needed a break, so we decided to pull off the highway for a coffee break. The coffee shop had great outdoor seating, with games, so we played a round of Connect 4. We had the cinnamon roll, i had a 16 oz oat milk latte and it was excellent! The gag of the spilt coffee mug sure had me though when I stepped out of the bathroom. Lol~! Thanks a lot for that!!! Came to this place while traveling and couldn't have had a nicer experience. It was a cool little coffee joint with just the right atmosphere. They made me the perfect coffee in the right amount of time and I really couldn't have been happier. I enjoy Starbucks a great deal, but I love a good local coffee shop even more! read more

cute spot however my friend and i just waited 15 minutes for two coffees, a breakfast sandwich, and a bagel. which isn't an outrageous amount of time to wait for an order like that, but we waited 15 minutes just to have the cream cheese on the side of the bagel and the bacon, egg, and cheese missing the egg and cheese. my frustration comes from the fact that we waited all of that time for what? for cream cheese on the side and bacon strips on a bagel? a five year old could complete that order in less than 5 minutes. mind you, this was not during peak hours. the shop had a few other guests waiting for their food at the same time that we were. very frustrating especially since we paid $23. final thoughts... overpriced for the food and service that you get. read more

I seriously wish this place was closer to me because their lattes are super good. I just stopped by here last week and got a chocolate chip cookie latte. I don't usually get lattes because I don't like all the added sugar but to my surprise they actually have some sugar free syrups. The woman working behind the counter told me she could make the chocolate chip cookie into a sugar free latte so I went with that! It was so good just by itself and it already tasted sweet! I've been disappointed now twice in a row. My coffee I've ordered has tasted burned for the last 2 lattes I've ordered. Unfortunately it's too expensive to get burned coffee and want to go back. Which is unfortunate because I've been in before and the coffee has been good, the pastries have been tasty. The last few times I'd been in when the coffee was good was before lockdown. But the two times I've ordered out from there during lockdown the coffee has been burned. Not much else to add. The atmosphere of the place is cute and quirky. The staff are all friendly, and there seems to be a majority of the patrons are teens from the local school. Overall it's a nice cozy atmosphere and a cute place. read more

What an adorable place ! We stopped by on a whim while heading home from the beach. I pulled up my trusty yelp app to see where I could get a coffee nearby. This place popped up. First of all it's the most adorable decorated spot. Just a nice casual very homey place to hang out and sip a coffee. This is all fresh ground beans too. They had some delicious cookies and baked Goods to choose from. I decided to use my calories on a drink. I had the cinnamon bun one. It wasn't overly sweet as these drinks can be. It was full of cinnamon and vanilla. They have soy milk too which my lactose intolerant self loves. Prices are on par with Starbucks but this is a small local spot. I'd rather spend my Money here with our own folks. If your heading to misquamicut Beach I highly recommend a stop here. read more

This is my favorite coffee shop in RI! Unfortunately I live an hour away so anytime I am in a fifteen minute radius I have to come! This is usually a happening coffee shop, not really quiet enough to study or work but great fun to people watch. In the summer take advantage of the outdoor seating, lots of room! They offer some treats, homemade Gelato and wonderful coffee creations. I've tried a few and can't decide which is my favorite. They have a cinnamon bun latte with real icing! They have a pb cup latte that is made with real peanut butter and topped with whipped cream and Reese's pieces. Their pumpkin latte was made with real pumpkin and sweetened condensed milk. All I can say is wow, wow, wow. My parents have gotten their regular coffee and say it's good. You have to try one of their specials, even if you don't care for sweet beverages they offer tons of unique options. Great shop! read more

This neighborhood coffee shop is known for outstanding Java but they also have great baked goods, hot chocolate and non-coffee drinks. My favorite is the mermaid lemonade in the summer with lavender. We knew we hit a gem a few feet after walking in. Did a pit stop here on a a slightly lengthy detour from our Long Island to Boston drive, and a charming and friendly atmosphere welcomed us, and stayed with us the whole time. The staff was friendly and the patrons all seemed to be having a great time with their conversations, books, and chess games. We ordered pumpkin lattes, and they were divine. Made to order, the pumpkin flavor was strong but not overbearing, and the coffee strength was enough to get me on the road again, but not jittery hands strong. If I had to be very critical though, the whipped cream did seem to be from an aerosol can, but that's all. Otherwise it was all very perfect. Comfy couches, indoor and outdoor cafe seating, accessible board games, and good wifi were big pluses too. As to pricing, a bit on the pricey side (about New York City prices). read more

Junque N Java is one of the best coffee spots in Westerly, RI. They have it all. A cool, comfy, relaxed atmosphere to hang out. Delicious teas, coffees, and shakes to suck down while you sit in a nice comfy chair. A wonderful array of pastries and even gelato to stuff your face. And, to top it all off, a friendly staff to serve you. Payment is accepted in the form of cards and cash, which is convenient. The prices are fair and you get what you pay for. Their iced green tea is brewed fresh. Lattes can be iced or hot. I highly recommend their iced chai with almond milk! Junque N Java also has a frequent buyer card. When you buy a certain amount of tea, coffee, or latte's you get one for free! It's great to support local businesses, but it's even better when those businesses are AMAZING just as Junque n Java is. read more

There is quite a bit to like about Junque N Java. My wife absolutely loves their spiced chai lattes. I've had them & they're delicious. I haven't had any bad coffee drinks from here & they offer a rewards program for a free coffee or $2 off a specialty drink. I believe they get their beans from a Providence roaster It's in a great location on the way to the beach. Parking isn't ideal but it shouldn't deter someone from pulling in & getting out easily. The inside is inviting & cozy but it can get cramped if there's enough people coming in for coffee. They have an outside vendor that does all their baked goods. While they're still pretty good it's just a minor gripe of mine since there are plenty of good local bakeries they could have used. Again, just nitpicking. I think they're adding outdoor seating soon & there are rumors of them even adding ice cream in the future. read more

I got an iced latte and it was something like I have never had before, absolutely amazing! We did online orders and picked up in store. We went back a 2nd time this week and did online pick up and the gentleman actually brought it out to my car because he saw my license plate and assumed it was my order. Friendly staff that knows what they're doing! I did the iced chocolate chip cookie latte and the iced peanut butter cup latte. Both fantastic and not too sweet! I was here twice the other day. In the morning I got the croissant breakfast sandwich with egg and cheese, a mocha latte, and a cannoli to go. The sandwich was good though I am not sure why they offer sausage and bacon and not ham, something most places offer if they have the first two. So no ham and cheese as I had hoped. Coffee was fine but I had to wait ten minutes before it was cool enough to drink so they have not mastered the art of temperature control here. This has happened more than once. The cannoli was off tasting somehow. Oddly enough it may have been more the shell than the cream. not good. The yoghurt parfait here is also too sweet. You can't have both frozen fruit in juice and sweet yoghurt. It would be better balanced with greek yoghurt. Later that day I go in for a European hot chocolate and an iced coffee. So I don't know how they normally serve the hot chocolate here but there is a big empty bowl on the counter with the small hot chocolate cups. I really can't think of any way that decent hot chocolate could be premade to sit on a counter but just the same girl looks into the empty bowl and says they must not have it today. Umm its on the menu and just as easy to make as coffee so I don't get that at all. Ok so I ask for 2 large iced coffees with very light ice. I was pretty ticked when the girl purposely filled the cups to the top with crushed ice. I was polite to them both times I was there so wtf. I should have just told her to keep the ice filled cups. Like I tried to put in one pump of cream a small amount of sugar and it overflowed. No reason for such poor service. I like the decor here and I've had a good cappuccino here before but the menu and service needs some work. I want to like this place as there are not many good cafes in Westerly but not overly impressed so far. read more

I've been here twice. That's right; I came back. The first time I needed a quick pick-me-up after a day of walking around Rhode Island with a friend. I ordered the Cinnamon Roll Latte. The barista gracefully swirled icing into my drink. It was a really pretty. It tasted like a light, refreshing liquified cinnamon roll with a kick of espresso. My friend ordered the Flat White, which was pretty strong. The second runaround to Junk & Java, my bestie and I drove here with the intent of studying on a lazy Sunday. I ordered the Mountain Berry tea-lemonade hybrid. It tasted "pure" if that makes any sense. If you try it, you'll understand what I mean. It's light, refreshing, just enough sweet, and tastes like both tea and lemonade. The closest comparison I would make to it is Starbuck's Peach Green Tea Lemonade. My bestie ordered the Matcha Latte. She commented that it was also refreshing and smooth. Junk & Java is a cute café. They have an eclectic large-scale chess set, inviting all guests to give it a try. There's an assortment of Harney & Sons teas for sale along with small candies, bags, and shirts to name a few things. This won't be my last time here. I adore this place. read more

This is my go to coffee place when visiting RI. It's one of my top places I look forward to. They have so many great everyday menu options as well as seasonal drinks. They also have a great selection gelato, that can be scooped o used in a shake! I've yet to try either option but it's definitely on the horizon. Indoor and outdoor seating too!
