I just needed to get rid off an old guest mattress. Fred's website was extremely easy to use to book my appointment. I chose a date, time, and left my mattress off to the side in the driveway. You have the option of taking a photo of the item(s) you are planning to get rid of. The day of the appointment, I messaged Fred to ask him if he needed me to be awake for the pickup. I had just worked a 12 hour shift the previous night and was exhausted. He replied very quickly to my text. He was prompt in his reply, friendly and he assured me he would take care of it and be as quiet as possible. I thanked him and arranged payment. You can pay by credit card, Venmo or cash... multiple methods of payment is so convenient. I Venmo'd him my payment and went to sleep. When I woke up later in the afternoon, the mattress was gone just like he assured me it would be. I never even knew he was here (my room is near the front of my house). I will definitely use Fred is the future if I need any hauling done. I will also recommend him whenever I know anyone in need of hauling / junk removal. Due to the narrow hallway and tight corners, I was a little concerned of damage to the walls. Extra care and consideration was taken and there were absolutely no issues! They were in and out fairly quickly for the work that needed to be done. Even though one of the pieces needed to be dismantled in order for it to be moved, they were done quicker than I expected. First and foremost it is important to establish the fact that before this last week I had never done business with Junk King of San Diego. On 3/26 I had contracted with Junk King to removal several loads of miscellaneous house waste from my property. At the time Fernando was onsite, at the exact scheduled time, to the minute I might add, he almost immediately sensed that I was completely stressed out and physically exhausted from our pending move out-of-state move and knew what to do. Post a waste inventory interview, Fernando and Oscar, went above and beyond to ensure that not only was the household waste removed as quickly as possible but also treated our waste respectfully knowing that at one time that waste was not waste and was important to my family. This was followed up with another visit by Junk King today, the 30th, to remove additional waste that we originally thought we would be taking with us to our new out-of-state destination until we determined would have to be left behind. This time it was Chris and Esteban who went the extra mile to ensure that our needs were met and the waste was removed quickly. It is a foregone conclusion that Fernando, Oscar, Chris and Esteban efforts and their tranquilizing nature's and take charge approach to their job's has made this whole moving out-of-state experience so much easier to deal with. They listen carefully to what the customer wants and needs and work to make sure that the job gets done with the customer's budget in mind (with us and I'm sure with all of his customers). Junk King had made an otherwise difficult and stressful experience just a little bit more pleasant and tolerable. Thank you Fernando, Oscar, Chris, and Esteban and thank you Junk King for being there for my family when we needed the help and support and God Bless all. I cannot stress enough that if you have a move coming up, or just need to have household waste removed, than these are the folks to do it for you. Don't settle for anyone else that couldn't even stand in their shadow. You mind find yourself on the receiving end of a bad, and expensive, experience. Good luck. read more

The customer service at Junk King is outstanding. They open at 0800 and at 0805 I called to get a quote for a queen mattress with box spring and a recliner. After only two rings a gentleman answered the phone. He did say his name but I am horrible at remembering names. Needless to say, he was very polite and he even told me that if I booked online I would get a discount. What?! A business that actually is looking to save me money! Well alrighty then. I went online and booked a pick up the same day for between 1200 - 1400. At 1100, the same gentleman I believe, because I recognized the voice, told me that they were running early and if I minded if they came in 10 minutes. This just keeps getting better and better. When they arrived, he quoted me the price of $168, however, he said because I was a first time customer, he would give me an additional $30 off. I mean come on!! Junk King just made my whole day. For $138, they got there early, hauled away my stuff within 5 minutes, and asked if I had any other questions before they left. And to top it off, it was raining. These guys are amazing and I would recommend them to anyone. 5 stars. read more

Talk about friendly people I had the pleasure of meeting Brooklyn and Fred from Junk King. This is the first time I used this company and was very pleased. The people ahead of my pick up had more than normal of a pickup as I had a pick up from 10:00-12:00pm. They called me right away to let me know they did not expect that many items so they would be running a little late. They called again to let me know they were on their way very fast and friendly. As they were about to leave I just remembered that I had a Elliptical upstairs in my office that I forgot to mentioned that I can no longer use since I was downsizing to a single story. Without hesitation they quickly removed the item and they were on their way to their next destination. I highly recommend Junk King as I would not hesitate to call them again. I called Junk King to haul away a very old baby grand piano. I received an approximate price, (low to high end). They came out, assessed & gave me a reasonable price. They considered removing it that day, but were concerned about the weight of the piano causing damage to my walkway (made out of trex.) We agreed to take care of this the following day when they could bring out different equipment that would keep my property from being damaged. Long story short, they arrived later than the agreed time, but kept me posted with phone calls. They removed the piano very efficiently and because they came out late, they gave me a $50 discount! WOW! I am using them again in the near future for another project. Fernando was in charge of the removal. He and his partner were so polite, professional and efficient. I am a little late in writing this review- sorry guys! I can't recommend Junk King enough! I had been procrastinating on getting rid of a pile of concrete in my front yard because I was afraid of the cost and the hassle. Junk King came out for a quote and got rid of everything within a day! The workers (forgot their names) showed up on time and were able to handle the job the same day even though they were initially not expecting to haul concrete due to a miscommunication (not their fault). They also gave us a GREAT deal that was way less than their original quote to beat a different quote we had received. Everyone I dealt with at the company was extremely professional and helpful. Fernando and Chris met me at the storage unit that we needed to clean out. They were prompt and gave me a clear price upfront. I had asked them to keep an eye out for some items that we wanted to keep, and not only did they find them and set them aside for me ... but they also found another item that they thought might be valuable, and they made sure tol let me know instead of just discarding it. That now it was going to be between 9:30am-11:30am. I don't live here on property so it was a huge inconvenience for me waiting here for them to come and they NEVER did! They told me around 10:30am that they would not make it by 11 am and if I wanted to reschedule for the following day. Which I did not. So I've decided to hire someone else for the job since they were not able to make it on time and hardly communicated with me.

Called to get a junk removal scheduled and had a really unpleasant experience before anything even…read moregot off the ground. The person I spoke with, Dennise, was dismissive and flat out rude. I had a couple basic questions about pricing and availability and she made me feel like I was wasting her time. Short answers, no patience, zero friendliness. I wasn't asking anything complicated, just trying to figure out if this was the right company for the job. It wasn't. Or at least this interaction made that pretty clear. I get that people have bad days but when your the first point of contact for a business, how you treat potential customers matters. I hung up feeling genuinely put off and went with a different company instead, which ended up being a completely smooth experience. Maybe others have had great experiences here and I hope thats the case. But I can only speak to mine and mine was not good. Rude customer service from the jump is enough for me to look elsewhere.

The crew was efficient and friendly. No attitude about the heavy stuff, no dragging their feet, just got in and got it done. The garage was clear faster than I expected and they didn't leave a mess behind. Pricing was straightforward too. No weird charges tacked on at the end, just what they quoted. The "we don't judge the pile" thing is real by the way. I was a little embarrassed about how much had accumulated and nobody made me feel bad about it for a second.
