These guys are the best! I was looking to have an old, super heavy and awkwardly shaped sofa removed from my apartment and decided that some professional help would be my best course of action. I first looked up 1-800-GOT-JUNK? because who hasn't seen their vans around the city. However, they were unable to offer me a solid quote prior to arrival and I didn't want to waste their time (or mine) by having them turn up only to be out of my budget. I turned to yelp and messaged probably a dozen different local businesses who handle this sort of thing, and after speaking with Max, I decided Junk Removal 911 was my best option. The removal itself was a matter of minutes (which I didn't think could be possible) but these guys were strong and smart and made that godforsaken sofa fit out the backdoor of my vintage apartment. Years ago, when I had first moved this sofa in, the door had to be taken off the hinges to fit it through. These guys just made it work, and it was amazing. They were also very friendly and professional, and accessed my apartment for any potential obstacles before conducting the move. They also complimented my Star Wars-inspired art. I called Junk 911 on Wednesday. Max picked up the phone. I described the few large items that I needed to get rid of. Fast. He quoted a price, which was fair. I was able to schedule for a pick-up the following day, between 1 and 2 PM. The next day, two young, strapping guys turned up at (exactly) 1:36 PM. They were very polite and professional. My husband led them to the area where to pick up the items. They effortlessly lifted, hauled out the following in 12 minutes: Tempur-Pedic king-sized mattress, a box-spring, metal rods, 130 lb. 2009 54 inch plasma TV and a dresser. Well to be totally honest with you all looking for a junk hauler my experience is not vast. However, I do understand pricing and how much the approximate cost of using the city dump for a drop off. But this is not just about Junk Removal 911, but all of them the haulers that are insured, and licensed , and bonded that I inquired to hire for a very specific project. I was moving into my new home and needed a roll of carpet dimensions were 11x 9 with padding. This was already tied , rolled and basically just needed to taken out to the truck and loaded on, along with a 30x 24 inch wood 3 drawer service cabinet( end table). The city wide average charge was 160.00 got the carpet and 50.00 for the removal of the end table. Call me crazy , but, does anyone else think that's crazy? Well I finally talked and got a bid from Junk 911. They did the job for a total of 170.00. Mins you they were the most inexpensive junkets if all I interviewed. They got the job. The guy showed up , on perfect time, extremely polite and very helpful. So on this I recommend the company. However, even though the pricing was high they were still much less then the others. What I don't understand is that I had 5 men and a full truckload to pack me up and move and then reset my new home. Comparing Haulers to to Movers it is beyond ridiculous the cost difference percentage wise is 80% more expensive for a lot less work , energy and small project costs. Unfortunately, they all seem to get away with these out of this world costs. Otherwise they wouldn't be in business. Thank you to Junk 911. The staff that came to my home made the bitter pill easier to swallow. So I guess the moral is if your going to charge prices like you all do to have repeat business you have to have GREAT employees! After the remodeling of my new home, I got a lot of junk sitting in the garage that need to remove, two living rooms and three bedrooms of carpet, one living room of hardwood flooring, 8 doors with trims, three set of closet doors with trims baseboard for the whole house, two sinks, two toilet seats, a stone shower base, two bathroom wall and floor tiles, drywall, cabinets, etc. I had scheduled two companies to come and quote me. The other company came and quoted me one and half truckloads to remove everything for over $800. That was outrageous and I didn't use them. Junk Removal 911 came the next day right on time for estimate. The guys are very experienced and polite. They told me one truckload is enough for $460 and I agreed the price. The team of two discussed and planned about the loading order for a minute and started putting the taller door and board on the side, breaking the long pieces of wood, smashing the bigger objects into pieces, laying out the truck, they put everything into the truck. That was such a hard work and they finished within 1.5 hours including sweeping the floor. They told me they only have three trucks and keeping their services very consistent. Unlike the previous quote I got from a bigger company, they tried to rip me off. I am highly recommended Junk Removal 911. *Please serve the driver/remover soda or water and ask them to take a break somehow, they work so hard! My husband and I had to get a bunch of furniture and boxes of stuff removed, as we are moving out of the state and cannot take them. I booked this company after seeing the numerous positive reviews and getting quick responses after I inquired on Yelp. The biggest draw though was the fact that most stuff they take get donated / recycled. It pained me to part with a lot of my clothes since they are all in good condition but I was relieved to know that they'd go to others in need. Two men named Lucky and Javi came, earlier than expected (which I'm not complaining about! They call ahead too), and did a great job taking everything speedily. They were courteous and pleasant, despite the fact that they had to go up and down the narrow staircase that leads to my 3rd-floor apartment. We were impressed by their strength, haha (one person carrying a real wood bookcase that my husband and I struggled to lift together...)! One of the guys informed me though that because of COVID our clothes may not be accepted as donations at Salvation Army and places and be thrown in the dump. I asked that if that is the case, if the clothes can be recycled as fabric, and he said they can try. I really do hope the many many containers of our clothing get donated to places that do accept clothing now, or that the clothes are recycled as fabric. It breaks my heart thinking that perfectly good clothes may have to be dumped. Though I realize that many things are out of our control in these extraordinary circumstances. In any case, I recommend Junk Removal 911 wholeheartedly. The pricing is very reasonable too (for us, it was $250 before tip for *many* boxes of various household items and clothes, 1 desk, 1 couch, 1 large bookcase, 1 small office chair, 1 full-size bed (mattress+box spring), 1 chest of 6 drawers. The guys broke down some of these furniture pieces so we didn't have to disassemble anything ourselves.
