Wow. Just wow. This is a great place with a extremely diversified menu. I was here in Salmon for a short stay on business and actually ate here two days in a row. The first day for lunch I had the Vietnamese Pork Sandwich. The seasoning was unique, complex and perfect on a tasty baguette. I tried a cup of the curry ginger chicken soup and it was also surprisingly good. A bigger cup would make a great meal. The next night for dinner I had to try their infamous Garlic Junkyard Burger--easily one of the top 5 burgers I've eaten in my lifetime. The burger was hot and juicy and smothered in grilled onions. Mushrooms, bacon and cheese. But the secret is the garlic aioli which added a fantastic creaminess and power to the experience. I don't use the word "experience" lightly; it was that good. OK food, OK service. We waited 45 minutes for our food. Yes, they were busy, but there seems to be some kitchen issues too. Our salad came after our food. (One should not have to tell a server that you will take a salad first). The peanut noodles dish was quite yummy, but the broccoli was overcooked. We liked the vibe of the place and it seemed to be a good local hang since so many establishments in Salmon have (sadly) closed, but they could do better. read more

Wonderful. Great food, Lovely town and fun staff. I came on a $1 PBR night that mixed tasty food with friendly banter. The waitress who gave us a great recommendation for lodging (Sacajawea Inn) had blue hair, something you would never expect in this sleepy town. Junkyard Bistro was a highlight on my roadtrip. We were just passing through this town and needed a bite to eat..... we found this place which had a patio out back that was dog friendly..... a must for us on hot road trip days. The waitress brought our dog a bowl of water too. I had the Turkey Gouda wrap and oh my.... yum! The mr. had a buffalo sandwich which he loved also. This lunch was just soooo yummy.
