Referred here as the best joint in town to get wings. Here is what I found. The wings were undercooked, couldn't finish them. The appearance and ambiance? The old style parlor, was littered with trash in parking lot, and had that old old smell of a once lush carpet absorbing spilled beer and food over the decades. There is a full bar and TVs in what could be the part of the restaurant that gets the tender loving care. Where is the dining room? As you walk in the entrance, go up the stairs and not down the stairs. However, if you're a lady don't use their restroom nearest the dining area upstairs, as that one is out of order. How was the pizza? It's was average. A good place to order pizza and take it to go? Give it a try and see. Who, surprisingly, has great wings? Red Robin actually has great wings! read more

Poor service. I ordered wings like I've done a multitude of times from here and then after waiting over 25 minutes with no food I went up to inquire about my order. The three customers who placed their orders after me had already been brought their food. The lady working the counter said, "the man who took your order left and went home". What? Should that make a difference in me getting my food? Funny, I was never told that unlike all the other customers who have their food brought to them I was different. Although they could clearly see me sitting at the table waiting she said, "We were waiting for you to come and get it. You should have come up here. We didn't know." Hmmm... Was she trying to make me feel better? Was she excusing herself for her ineptness? I don't know. I mean how hard could it be to do the same thing a hundred times a day. Apparently, my wings were sitting in a styrofoam box sitting unheated in the kitchen. By the time I got the wings they were soggy and tasteless. I understand that in the course of business minor mistakes occur and that is not what bothers me. It was the fact that the lady working there was rude and indifferent in a big way. She made it seem like it was my fault that I did not get my food order in a timely fashion. Furthermore, repeatedly pointing out that "The man who took your order went home and that's why we didn't bring it to you" didn't make me feel better any no matter how many times she said it. It did not even make sense because the three customers who ordered food after me had their orders delivered to them as expected. Couldn't she have made up a better excuse? Instead she tried to legitimize extremely poor service. Really? If she had any sense of delivering a pleasant customer service experience she would have quickly recognized the failure once it was brought to her attention and coupled it with a routine apology for the mishandling of food. Everyone can appreciate that miscommunications are bound to happen from time to time if one eats out often enough. It's usually not a big deal -- and certainly not something I would care to mention on a Yelp review. But this event stands out. Her coldness and indifference to their obvious failure reflects that fact that she does not respect nor appreciate repeat customers. She could care less. Because my friends in Turlock live near Jura's we would order from them every time I came to visit, especially during football season. After this, it's very unlikely that they nor I will return to eat there. Plus, in terms of actual food, about 25% of their wings are so small they should not qualify as wings. read more

I discovered Jura's about a year ago. I admit I was a bit apprehensive when I walked in there, it seemed old and a bit uninviting. But that all changed as soon as I bit into that first hot wing. To this day Jura's hot wings have never been topped in my book. The wings are the perfect "spice temperature". I break a sweat after about five and I am a veteran spicy food consumer. The pizza has a very unique flaky crust and they load the meat on there. Beer flows pretty freely and they just added a slew of flat screen TVs. Last time I was in there, they were putting the finishing touches on a new banquet room which is a good thing because that little joint gets pretty packed sometimes. The staff is always friendly and greets you with a smile. Jura's is a great place to meet up with friends and to watch "the game." read more

I absolutely love Jura's! I have lived in Turlock over a year now, and it is one of my favorite places to go eat. Their chicken wings and pizza are awesome! My husband and I always get the 18 wings with a small olive and cheese pizza. The pizza is excellent overall; if anything negative can be said, the sauce is a little bit bland. But the crust and cheese... great! This is definitely a hole-in-the-wall place to go! Plastic tables and chairs, very lively atmosphere during weekends and game nights, big screens in one room for watching the games, local owners that are friendly, and a hometown atmosphere. Out of all the times I have gone, I have never had any problems with the food or the service there. I'm actually thinking about going there tonight. My husband and I are definitely keeping this place in our top local favorite places to eat in Turlock. read more

We went here for my sister-in-law's birthday. We ordered fries, wings, and pizza. The wings weren't anything special and the pizza was raw. Not only was the food bad, they messed up our order and we had to wait forever for the wings. Also, it was super expensive. I would like to try it again after it has been opened at this new location for awhile. read more

The pizza is good! The pizza is meh! We can't get any consistency from Jura's... one time we will have a great pizza, the next time it will be an amateur disaster, such as undercooked crust, unmelted cheese, and funny tasting vegetables. Gets a little ghetto when a football game is on, stay clear. read more

Got to say the chicken wings were.good ordered half pepperoni/Cheese pizza it was horrible. Loaded with way to much cheese and the cheese tasted old. My grandkids love pizza and they ate it cause they were hungry . Had them there before but never been like this time.Very disappinted. read more

First let me say that the food here is good, I think the location is great and the building is a good size but yuck this place smells and doesn't feel like it gets a deep clean. Ughh its the only think that keeps us away, please change carpet and update your interior. This place smells like urine when you walk in. Jura's is amazing pizza. There is no lack of toppings. Especially when I order double linguisa. I am always looking for pizza places like this. Good pizza and good atmosphere. The kind of after baseball game places from my childhood. The only reason I don't give Jura's 5 stars is that I am not a huge fan of the crust. It's not bad, I just don't love it. read more

I love Juras!! Its one of my top 5 favorite pizza joints in the 209. Truly amazing pizza, wings and french fries. The all meat pizza is one of my favorites. Very hearty and filling. Jura is actually a great guy! He interacts with his customers and gets to know them. Great prices on beer too! I enjoy spending a sunday afternoon here. Don't go in there if you can't stand he heat because it is hotter inside Jura's than it is outside! It's miserable and you can't even enjoy your food because of the heat. When I asked if they could turn the AC on they said "it doesn't work" they need some fans or a sign to warn their customers to not come in because of how hot it is. read more

1 star because I couldn't give no stars. To start there was a guy throwing up near the front door. The cleaninesss of this place churns my stomach. As a former manager of a restraunt I was appalled. If the outside is this bad I would hate to see the kitchen. I only had the wings because they hopefully were fried and I wouldn't get sick. The place is filthy. The host of the party reserved the top room and the tables weren't set up and had to move tables ourselves. The service is horrible. It's been a while since I last came here, but that last time was for a friend's birthday dinner/party. We ordered some hot wings which were pretty HOT! but also very good. The pizza was standard but also pretty good. I can't remember how the service was but I'm guessing that it was acceptable. I would have to say Juras has the best wings of any place around, their fries are good, their beer is cheap as hell which is properly the best thing about the place...however, their pizza sucks ass and their service is TERRIBLE!!!! I used to watch all the football games there when I lived in Turlock and have seen the owner Jura be extremely rude to costumers including his waitresses. I went there once made my order, ask about how long and the waitress replied rudely "It' will be ready when its ready" Two times they charged an extra pitcher to my bill and would not listen to me when I tried to explain this to them. This review is way out dated. Like 17 years outdated. I went to school in Turlock and this was quite the staple for me and my friends in college. Monday night football nights. Wednesday, Thursday, any day of the week. Wings were always the best. Nice and saucy. Pizza is the best I've ever had. I always take people here and they never leave disappointed. I watched the Portugal game at Jura's not too long ago and the food was on point. The only issue I have with this place is the building itself. It smells like mold and it's so dated! For as much money as these people make they should have at least put in new carpet and painted the place, or even just cleaned it! One of the oldest pizza places in the central valley. Known for it's amazing wings (recipe still a guarded secret after almost 30 years). Pizza is incredibly rich, so calorie watchers, watch out. Atmosphere is great during big games, or just any afternoon out with family or friends. Decent prices as well, and lots of beers on tap. read more

The worst customer service ever! The girl that answered the phone on Sat 8/14 at 4p was so rude! I have ordered many times spending alot of money over the phone with no problems. This girl tells me she can't take my payment over the phone cuz she's in the office, after already taking my order. She didnt give me the opportunity to tell her if she can still place the order and we will pay when getting there. She right away says I canceled your oder bye and hangs up on me. I try to call back and no answer. Its like people forgot how to work and provide customer service has covid really messed everyone up. You should be greatful your still in business. She would have been able to complete our order as we always do if she had got off her a**. Its to bad that crapy workers mess up businesses. The crust at this small town pizza legends is more like a cracker than the yeasty crust you're probably used to but it is wonderful. The toppings are chunky which means the produce on your pizza will retain it's crunch. But, the best thing is always the hot wings... Order lots and don't shy away from the napkin dispenser. read more

What happened to this place? Me and my buddies used to love to go down to Jura's and enjoy some good pizza and beer. Ever since they moved to the new place the vibe has been different. The inside is very dingy, bordering on dirty. I think this place stays open because of the name, not the product. I support local businesses, but you can't just charge the highest pizza prices in town without a equal product in return. Step your game up! read more

This place is AMAZING, pizza is great, wings are great, everything's great. The reason why I did not give the 5 star rating would consist of two things. The first being the order to go, your order may get mixed up so you'll need to be clear. The second thing would be that instead of ordering whilst sitting down and looking through a menu for a bit, you have to order in the front desk, however it is still reasonable because there's always a lot of people and you do receive your food quite quickly. Mom & Pop pizza joints are usually on the far side great or extreamly crappy. That being said, Jura's lands right in the zone of pizza goodness. With a new location to accommodate to large groups, Jura's has mastered both the quality AND quantity that great pizza, wings, and fries deserve. I can't go to Jura's without getting nearly everything on the menu. Dine like a champion and order the wings, fries, and a large pepperoni with olives, then proceed to drizzle buffalo sauce and ranch dressing over everything!
