I am so lucky to have found Ms Gina. I was tight on time but she got me in Saturday morning. The drive from my hotel in Indian Wells was far (40 min) but so worth it. Parking was easy and she only needed 10 minutes to cornrow the right side of my head. Exactly what I wanted and the most competitive rates I've ever experienced for braids. Gina charged me $400 to install a weave, during my appointment she took on 3 other clients and I left to my concert with an incomplete weave. She was to finish the following Tuesday, by than my braids were falling and rather than fixing her mistake she charged me another $400 plus additional hair. Again she failed to do her job properly and when I requested my money back she said she wanted the opportunity to fix the weave stating and I quote "My expectations were too high". Well the end result was no different and still she refused to refund my money. This woman and her partner in crime Trish have no moral integrity, common sense and will see their consequences will far exceed the $800. Even worse this fake Christian hides behind God and judgement will fall hard on her deceitful ass!! read more

Ms. Gina has been doing my hair for the past 5 years now. I've had very thin and very fine baby like hair for the past 10 years now. I've tried several different types of hair styles, textures, and have had most types of installs. Bottom line is, you truly get what you pay for. I can't tell you how many times I've had other mobile stylists come to me, ones found through Craigslist, and other marketing sources, only to end up returning to Just Gina's to correct their work. Recently, my current stylist had a family emergency and could not see me. I was anxious to find someone to take care of my hair given I was about to leave on a trip to London. I googled hair care in my area and found Gina. I dropped by Gina's salon and she was busy with a customer but took the time to hear my blight and offered immediately several options. Unfortunately I explained that I was leaving for an overseas trip and Gina said that she would do her best to help me. She told me she would take me on the next work day. I love Gina! She worked a miracle in my time of need lol. I was visiting Palm Springs from NYC and I had a hair emergency. I have natural hair and I wear a wig so it was important for me that my stylist knew how to care for African American hair. I found her on Yelp and she squeezed me in the same day. Curtesa did my hair, single braids. She changed the time of my hair appointment the day of, she didn't do them as small as I wanted them so they are now currently all falling out and she is blaming it on how short my natural hair is. Even though i sent her a photo of my natural hair prior to the appointment and she said it was long enough and that " I've been doing this for 18 years" so she knows what she's doing. My overall experience was just terrible here. I will never go back, my braids have been in for not even two weeks and four have fallen out. I've gotten my hair done since I was ten years old and in my many years of getting hair done this has never happened. And I've had short hair before. omg i can't not say enough good things about this place. i just moved to the valley and was looking for a place to get my hair braided. i stumbled upon this page and decided that i was going to call to make an appt. the lady on the phone was super sweet when i called she told me that one of the braiders would give me a call so i could book my appt. Last year I lost a chunk of hair due to an illness. Gina agreed to cut it down to an extreme twa (teeny weeny Afro). I spent a lot of time crying and wondering if my hair would ever grow back. Then Covid-19 hit and I wasn't able to go to Gina's for hair care. BUT, the reason for my review of Gina today is to tell you that up until COVID-19 Gina worried about not just my hair but my mental well being as a result of so much hair loss. Gina would massage my hair, talk consolingly to me as she had to cut even shorter, and she even prayed for me. Today I can honestly say that it was Gina's positivity and care that supported my hair regrowth. She told me what products to buy and how to use them. I still have not been able to see Gina since COVID-19 broke out as I am part of the vulnerable population, but I can't wait to visit her salon when Covid-19 is a thing of the past. Terrible experience with the braider Myiesha, absolutely terrible. I make an appointment with her last week and the first red flag was when i was making attempt to contact her and she wouldn't reply at all, she'd only respond on her time once and wouldn't be responding to my questions or anything. she canceled the first time the day of the appointment which I understood her reason, we rescheduled for the following day and same thing, cancelled again, but had no communication with me at all, she let me contact her first before even letting me know that she can't braid my hair that day and had me waiting for a call that never came. For the last time I decided to reschedule again for the third time with her the following day and when doing so she was saying how she was going to call me back and never did again, the night before the day we had rescheduled for the third time I had sent her a message to confirm, and no response again. The morning of the third day we had rescheduled she did not contact me whatsoever and still hadn't called me back as she said she would and also ignored my messages completely. The salon is 30 minutes away from me and I drove early in the morning to get to my appointment. When I get there the salon is closed, nobody was there. I called her, no answer. Texted no answer. Called a few times again no answer. I was waiting outside of the salon one hour before I decided to just forget about it and leave. No response. Till this day and time, no response. She made me pay her a deposit in advance. She didn't have the audacity to even explain or even apologize for just wasting my time. I sent her a bunch of texts which I will share with you guys below, she never answered. Absolutely no type of consideration for my time as a client. No communication at all. She has no professionalism. It's really a shame since I did come to this salon once before with the previous braider, my opinion they should get rid of this braider now and get the old one back or hire a new one with actual professionalism. Gina booked an appointment for my daughter to cornrow her hair. One of us got the appointment on the wrong day - I'm pretty sure it was me, but hard to say. Gina was booked, but worked us in anyway. She did that with grace and kindness, and I'm grateful. I recommend Just Gina's very highly. If I can get a copy of the pic of she and my daughter, I'll come back and post it here.
