For all my curly haired people, Nick is excellent and proficient in cutting curly hair. To give you context, I have type 2c/ 3a curls and always had trouble finding stylists that were not only comfortable with cutting curly hair, but also enjoyed cutting and styling it. I've honestly tried around 10 salons/ barber shops over the past few years and none of them gave me CONSISTENT results. I always give every place a "three tries rule" and all of the places I previously went to never were consistent with my hair. Of course, now that I've had 4 appointments with Nick cutting and styling my hair, I can be confident and saying I am going to continue coming here. He just understands what you want if you explain it to him, and at some points read my mind. I'll post pictures on this review at my next appointment but in the aspect of CURLY hair he is exceptional. My regular hair stylist was booked and I needed a cut asap for an event and this was the closest to my house that had openings. The salon was very peaceful walking in. Greeted right away. Olivia understood exactly what I wanted and executed it precisely. I will say I was a little nervous as her technique was a bit different from what I've experienced but the end result was perfect. My only negative is that she took a clip out of a drawer that said "soiled" Not the "clean" drawer. Otherwise I would have given five stars. I'd definitely go back to her though. read more

I unfortunately did not see how bad the cut was until I washed my hair the next day. I believe that was because my stylist immediately curled my hair after drying it without letting me see the cut first. I had asked for layers but the layers didn't blend into the next layer smoothly - it came out choppy and uneven. I also asked for face framing layers, with the shortest layer to be about an inch below my chin. Instead I got uneven bangs cut to my cheekbone and I didn't see anything framing my face. This was my first time there. I wish I had looked at the reviews first because it sounds like others experienced something similar. Also - another customer came in because he had an appointment with Nicholas. My stylist told him that Nicholas had canceled all his appointments for the day to spend the day with his daughter. Made me wonder if Nicholas or the store at least called his clients to make sure they didn't come in but it didn't seem like it. Although I enjoyed the conversation with my stylist (who I will not name because she was really nice), I won't be coming back. Giving a 2 star instead of a 1 purely for the pleasant conversation with my stylist. read more

I visited this salon as a walk-in (though I did call beforehand to check if they had any openings) and Nick helped me out by giving me a trip and some layers. I felt pretty comfortable and think that he gave me the look I was going for, which is great since I had a bad experience at a Great Clips prior to this. Oh boy, I have never in my life given zero stars but I wish I could today. I have naturally curly hair. Nick cut my hair dry, did layers, washed and diffused for a minute. I left with wet hair. Seemed okay. I don't heat style my hair except for on occasion. Went to blow out my hair for family photos and this was the layer job. I reached out to Nick and he went from saying it looked like it broke off to saying it looked like a kid cut it. As if one of my kids did this? The only person that cut it was Nick, so I guess that's an insult to himself. I'm an honest person, and being gaslit by someone that clearly cannot accept that he made a mistake is a freaking joke. Avoid at all costs, unless you want to be gaslit if you're unhappy with your haircut. P.S. my hair was wavy when cut, not straight as it had been in a side braid all day. I'll take the hit on not requesting it blow dried before I left so that I could see it clearly with my glasses on, and for not blow drying it sooner at home. I entrusted him with my hair and tried to give him well-intended feedback in hopes it could be fixed. But bottom line: this haircut, that was all him. That's his work. Here's the convo exchange.
