This review is way overdue. Like 7 years overdue! I'm not even sure if the hairstylist who did my hair works there anymore, but regardless, I've been meaning to write this review to share my experience. So let's get down to it... I chose this salon at the time since it was close to the area I had moved to and I was in search of a salon and hairstylist that would eventually become my go-to. I ended up pulling the trigger and called this salon to request for an appointment to get a hair trim and ombre, so whoever answered at the time, set me up with Donnie. On the day of my appointment, I showed up on time and ready to get my hair done. However, Donnie appeared to be running late. I can remember sitting there waiting, watching the time pass by, checking my watch constantly, while watching the other hairstylists finish up on their clients. I was already annoyed by that first impression, but I still gave her an opportunity to redeem herself. When 30-40 minutes passed, I almost walked out, so one of the hairstylist called her to let her know I was waiting. At about the hour mark, Donnie finally and casually arrived. She cleaned up her chair and called me over. She then explained a bit into why she ran late, but I would have rather loved to hear her apologize and at least have the decency to call the salon to let them know she would be late. Then I would not have had any thoughts to walk out on my appointment with her. After that whole ordeal, I explained to her that I wanted a trim on my layers and blonde ombre to which she agreed to do. During the process of getting my hair done during my appointment, some of her friends who didn't have an existing appointment came in to visit her to get their hair done, so there was a lot of going back and forth with me and more time sitting in the chair waiting for her to finish up the process. At that point, I was just eager to see what my hair looked like. Once it was time for the reveal, at the time I was happy and fine with the V-shaped layered trim she did, but not too thrilled with the color and how tight my curls were. It was an intense brassy orange color and not the blonde I had asked for. I remember asking her about that, but she explained that I would have to go in a few more times to achieve the color. Again, she should have explained that to me when I told her what I wanted instead of agreeing that she could do it in that session before it was all said and done. She was also distracted with her friends that came in, so I felt she was in a hurry to just get me out of the chair despite me waiting on her for a bit while she was working on her friend and chopping it up with them conversation wise. I also wasn't a fan of the hair products used at this salon. Once all was said and done, my hair wreaked of nauseating chemicals. There was a reason I didn't come back after that. I wanted so badly to like my hair, but I honestly couldn't stand the color. Then on top of that the lack of communication and professionalism really did it for me to not want to make a second appointment. Those were my deciding factors to not come back again. Though I wasn't ecstatic about my experience here, I'm just glad I got to see from an inside look how the salon operates.
Patrick & the staff were really nice but the pictures reflect my poor rating. He seemed pretty knowledgeable but looks like he mainly work on older clients and is not familiar with the balayage style that is more common nowadays. I went to him on impulse while my stylist was sick but I regretted it big time, now I have to spend even more somewhere else just to get it fixed. Again, he was very nice but he obviously did not look at his work when it was all done. I'm no hair stylist either but this is just sloppy!!!
I've been coming here for a long time, everyone's great, I've had my hair done by pretty much all of the workers through out the years! Everyone's friendly, kind, informative & they're good at what they do. Thank you Andy for fixing my hair! I had a keratin treatment for the first time, I needed it and I couldn't be happier! I absolutely LOVE my hair. He gave me nice highlights to lighten me up like I wanted with out going over board for the fall. He worked on Two of us at the same time boys got the skills! Like I said everyone is excellent and I recommend this place to everyone!
Found this Salon here on Yelp and was lucky enough to meet the best stylist in town. PEPSY did an AMAZING job on transforming my long, uneven colored, boring hair to soft, natural look with great dimensions yet looks sophisticated & exquisite. All their stylists are friendly too and will make you feel comfortable. Getting appointment was not hard, just give them a call. All in all, I had a great experience. This will be my go to salon from now on.
I'm almost 50 but Pepsy has helped me keep my confidence up. I've been coming to her for the past 6months and I'm so happy to have found this small humble little shop where I can be totally transformed lol Thank you all for your kindness.
Let's just say that once you come here, you have no reason to go anywhere else. Andy is amazing!! It's been 5 years now that Andy does my nails. Not only is he great at what he does, but he's also fast and efficient. To me, time is everything, so the faster the better. After all, time is money right? Recently he started doing my hair. He's been doing hair for years but when I met him, I was already faithful to my stylist. I switched to Andy becuase my stylist was starting to take longer in doing my hair and the quality wasn't as good anymore. I was amazed by how fast Andy did my hair and I got the most compliments ever. I now have him kill two birds with one stone. It's great! Bottom line, Andy is the best.!!
Amazing! Andy transformed my hair! This is my new hair salon. First off they were able to see me the same day. I was so over my fried damaged hair. I had to get a cut today! I hadn't even fixed my hair in months because it was so damaged from going blonde I couldn't even straighten it anymore, it was breaking. I didn't want to loose length because I've had to chop it off already. He did a layer cut and a deep condition treatment in my hair and wow, my hair moves again! I've paid so much $$ this year trying to fix my hair, I should have just come here. They understand how Hispanic or Asian hair is different. By the way his sister Works there too and her hair looks amazing which I think he said he did too. If you need to get a good color or cut I recommend that you come here. I already made my appointment for December.I can't stop touching and flipping my hair. Selfie time.
Finally found my stylist. Pepsi did such an amazing job on my hair. She was so pleasant and helpful. She gave me tips on what color will suit me and the haircut. I just love it. Will come back again when I need to get my hair done.
Thank you Yelpers for another great suggestion. I recently had my hair cut and styled by Donnie whom I picked because other yelpers had spoken so highly of her. She is a young, very cool, very hip chick who knew exactly what I wanted and added her own educated thoughts of what might look good. I have short, thin hair and wanted it cut shorter and funkier. I brought in two pictures from Pinterest and she ran with it. Btw, I showed up an hour later than I thought my appt was and she was still kind enough to take me and not make me feel bad about being so lame. :o) There are no walk ins accepted and they take credit cards. The vibe in there is happy, vibrant and fun....and btw, it seems as though everyone in their is Asian of some sort, the guys were Filipino and the girls seemed to be Filipino and other cool Asian types. That means a lot to me because that means they are familiar with our hair and know what to do to make it fabulous. Ps....I was greeted by Andy when I arrived and he is FABULOUS! Everyone was nice but being greeted in such a friendly way and seeing the love he had for his customers was very refreshing. I loved this place!! A+++ all the way :o)

I absolutely love my hair!!! It took me many years to find the right person to trust to cut my hair!!! 7 years to be exact ...Pepsy is the best stylist, thank you to my friend that recommend her!!! She's amazing and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a new look and fresh cut....
This place was well recommended by a coworker because she said that they are really good and has affordable hair services pricing. I went to the salon so Patrick can actually see my hair and he said he will charge $160 for the whole process color,highlights and keratin treatment. So off me go and got an appointment with Patrick. Then on the day of my appointment, I observed that he is working on one client for highlights and then he did my hair while the other one is still waiting to have all her hair work process done. Then another client came for hair cut and he did the haircut while I was waiting for my hair work process to be done as well. And finally when he did the final touch of my hair, I observed that he is only using same hair tools as he used from those 2 clients. I did not see him disinfect them from every other clients. I felt so grossed with what I observed. And he did not even sweep the hairs from the floor for every client he is done with! And i also noticed that their tables are so dusty and the chairs has tiny hairs on the back edges. I asked why is this not cleaned? And he just said that is nothing and he just hair blow them! And the chemicals he uses for my keratin treatment is so strong that it hurts my eyes! I got so worried already. And when he ironed my hair, he almost burned my left ear! Man, he really has a heavy hand I can tell. As if he is always in a hurry! Then when it's all done, he asked me to pay him $200 total! I said, I thought it's only $160 and he said, well the highlights alone is $120. Whattt??? I felt I was robbed! It's a total rip off! I only have short hair! I felt he really needs the money badly! So I just gave the money so for less hustle! I believe in Karma, whatever comes around, goes around! So please beware people!!! don't come on this salon, you will just be disappointed!!!!!

I don't know what happened with the last review, but let me tell you, excellence is not something that you can just whip with your fingers. Sometimes life happens, I have been coming to this salon for 18 years! Yea, sometimes rarely, in 18 years they were late, heck so was I. That place is on appointment- believe it or not, the best salons are. The vibe is about fabulous! Fantastic! Atmosphere is just something that you want to be all day everyday! What an amazing place to work let alone be a long time customer like my self! Lol unfortunately I can't do that work otherwise id work there too lol read more

Went in to see Donnie for an ombre color and cut. I was able to go in for a quick 2 minute consultation prior and then show up on my appointment date and have her know what I wanted. My hair was colored black so obviously I wasn't able to go as blonde as I wanted but she bleached it as light as possible without major damage, leaving me with a caramel color. Price was reasonable for the time it takes to do the process. There are other places that are a bit cheaper but you get what you pay for. I think she did a good job on the blending so I'm happy with the work. I will most likely be returning in a month or so to go lighter :) read more

I came in for a haircut about 3 months ago with Donnie. She did my ombré very well & I loved it. I later decided I wanted to cut the ombré off & dye it back dark. After the cut, I wasn't use to my hair being short so I always had it up or down natural (wavy). I had my hair straightened at a salon & the lady told me my hair was very uneven. I never noticed because i wasn't putting heat on it & was letting it grow back out. Donnie ombre's & color are amazing but I can't say the same for cutting. :( read more

This my third time getting my hair done by Donnie! She is so fabulous and really knows what's best. Each time I've gone to her it's been for completely opposites the very first time she fixed my old ombré and brought me to a beautiful cool blonde. Then I moved to Berkeley and wanted a more natural look so she cut my hair to a short blunt cut and dyed it brown. Now 4 months later I made the trip down from the Bay to slowly add more natural warm highlights. I love that I can give her an idea of what I want and she takes it from there. I truly feel comfortable when I'm in her chair I trust her suggestions and leave it to her. This is her career so don't let sour apples on this Yelp ruin your decision to come here! Donnie is great. read more

I have been wanting to get a little color and loft to my hair for awhile. After I had my kids my hair just seemed thin and drab. I looked up places near me and found this little gem! I did my Yelp research and gave them a call. Gigi was my stylist and she did such and amazing job. I told them I wanted something a little lighter but not too blonde. I got the balayage hair and it's perfect! I had the balayage done then she cut layers into my hair. I couldn't be happier. I will definitely be coming back here! read more

Patrick is awesome!!! Me and my bestie wanted to get our hair done for my birthday and Patrick was able to give me exactly what I wanted! He was able to do both me and my friends hair at the same time with out rushing and attention to detail. His work is very professional and modern. I have totally found a hair dresser after looking for about 10 years!! Thank you Patrick!!! read more

Andy will be my hair colorist from now. ...I been went every where and no where they can understand how to color hair right from brown to blonde high light. ...he is very talent,patient, experience. ...you can not go wrong here. ...I'm highly recommend him to any out there want to have right hair color.
