I've been going to my hairstylist for over a year and she is truly incredible. If this review were about her, it would be five stars every time. Unfortunately, it's about the salon owner, whose behavior is consistently rude, unprofessional, and honestly embarrassing for someone running a business. From my very first appointment, she set the tone. I walked in with a Starbucks for myself and my stylist... completely unaware the salon had a café (which was closed, by the way). Instead of a normal greeting or a simple "Just so you know, we have coffee here," she loudly blurted out, "Who brings Starbucks here?" as if I had just broken a house rule. Not exactly the welcoming vibe you expect when you're coming in to spend money. Her attitude has been the same every visit since: dirty looks, zero acknowledgment unless you're her direct client, and an overall negative energy that shifts the whole room the second she walks in. And it's not just me. My best friend and my mom have both gone to the same stylist and experienced the exact same treatment from the owner. The same snarky comments, the same judgmental looks, the same cold, uninviting demeanor. So it's clearly a pattern, not a one-off. One moment that really stuck with me: it was just me, my stylist, and the owner in the salon. My stylist stepped into another room, so I raised my voice slightly to make sure she could hear me. The salon was empty. Yet I overheard the owner mutter, "Why is your client so loud? She's in a salon." Instead of speaking to anyone directly or respectfully, she chose to insult a paying client behind their back. Completely uncalled for and extremely unprofessional. Even if YOU the paying client says hi to her she looks you up and down and gives a cold hi back. At this point, the only reason I've ever tolerated stepping foot into this salon is because of my hairstylist. Who deserves better, and so do her clients. If you value professionalism, respect, and a welcoming environment, I'd strongly recommend booking with these amazing stylists anywhere else if they offer services at another location. I had the worst experience! I highly suggest you do your research on the stylists there before you book an appointment. I had long hair and only wanted a trim the stylist cut my hair shoulder length I was stunned. I wanted to someday donate my long hair to locks of love and had been growing it out for 5 years. She took that opportunity away from me and truly is heart breaking. I still can't believe what I experienced at this salon. I left feeling so disgusted that a stylist would do something without your permission. Especially after telling the stylist exactly what I wanted and showed pictures. Making an appointment was very easy, and everyone in the salon is so nice and friendly, and for my first time there I was in awe of how much a sweet and comfortable environment there is, which is always nice considering hair stuff takes some time, you want to feel comfy. I was up late. Finally fed up with my hair and needing to schedule a haircut that moment! I searched on yelp for services in my area. I was specifically looking for the ability to book online and with availability in 2 days! Sure enough, Hidden Beauty Salon offered both! Having never been before, I did not have a preference of stylist. The communication was on point. I spent the next day deciding what I was going to do with my hair and saving images to my Pinterest board, as people do! Upon arrival, parking was easy and a huge bones was the great coffee right outside their front door. The place had open spaces, was clean, and well lit. I loved the feeling when I walked in. My stylist greeter me with a smile and with no wait time! She proceeded to wash, cut, dry and style my hair! She was so easy to talk to and to share stories with for an hour. At the end, payment was easy as they accept cards. I am very picky with my haircut but I am so pleased to say that I absolutely love my haircut. I love this place!!! I kept seeing their profile pop up on Instagram and it's been yeaaaars since I've booked an official cut & color at a legit place. Their booking process was easy and I was able to luckily snag a time slot for a weekend appt which was perfect. My stylist was Paulina. She listened to everything I wanted step by step. I mentioned to her that I previously only ever trusted my friend to do my hair because every other salon I've been to has been a let down. She went through every detail with me to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. She was personable, funny, and professional the entire time. I was absolutely satisfied with my results and will absolutely be booking with her again! Aside from that--the salon itself is sooooo cute. And all the other stylists + staff here were extremely friendly. It's also a huge plus that there's a coffee shop attached to the actual salon that sells good coffee! I dye my hair black and finding a stylist that wouldn't make a mess on my face with the black dye was hard until I found hidden beauty salon, Paulina is my stylist and she is amazing, making sure the black dye doesn't stain my face, they have parking meters outside and she will go and put in more coins for me! (since it covers 2 hrs before putting in more coins) Also sarah the owner is amazing and makes sure that I'm always taken are of! They also added a cute coffee shop right in front that you can enjoy as you are doing your hair! They have also added a mimosa bar as well for anyone that wants to enjoy a drink. This is not a professional business! I decided to try a new hairstylist, and that would be both closer to home and more affordable. I did my research on yelp, and I came upon Hidden Beauty. Although it had some concerning reviews, they seemed more focused on the bad and rude customer service, so I decided to focus on the good reviews. I spoke to Sara, the owner on the phone and I explained my situation. I told her I normally had balayage done, and I wanted someone who worked well with blonde hair. I explained that my main concern was conserving my healthy hair .She set me up with Paulina and said she was certain she would get me where I wanted to go with my hair. Paulina was extremely young 20 or 21 years old so right away I was concerned because it was obvious she couldn't have that much experience under her belt. I had shown Paulina a picture of a style she had done and posted days before. I told her that is exactly what I wanted. she kept trying to convince me to bring my highlights higher up, but I told her I wanted to keep the the balayage look with rooty top. She began to work, and I could tell her inexperience throughout the process. From pulling my hair quite a bit to forcing the brush through even when it was nodded in that sound it's painful to hear because you feel that your hair is being damaged. During the final rinse, I noticed she kept scrubbing the front of my hair, so I knew something was not right when she took me back to the chair, I noticed that she did not phase me towards the mirror, and never did again until my hair was completely blowdried so at this point, I was very afraid to look, she started off by saying that my face frame section was a little lighter because she didn't touch it and only placed toner so it turned a little white. She assured me that I could come back and she could try to fix it.. at this point, I was very concerned because she still hadn't turned me towards the mirror. When she finally did I could see the white stripes. I asked to go to the restroom, which also had low lighting as it was already around 6:30pm. This took a long time, I was tired, and in that lighting my hair seemed ok, otherwise, so I thanked her, paid them $350 and left. Once I got home, I ran to my bathroom as I have very good and bright lighting in there. That's when I realized how brassy my hair was at the top. I also noticed that my balayage was pretty much gone as she brought the highlights up to my scalp. I also checked the back of my hair, and I noticed that she did a full highlight rather than a partial, like I used to have, and she left some chunks with the long dark root, which basically left patches. At this point I was so upset I wanted to cry. I had just paid someone $350 to destroy my hair, I had to attend a couple of events with my hair like this, and I now had to pay my hairstylist to fix this mess . My main concern was to get in and have this hair fixed which my hairstylist did two days after and she fixed it as much as she could. She explained that the stylist didn't loft my root light enough to match the rest so it turned brassy. She could lift it some more or color my root in again to cover some of that redness. I chose the latter. She fixed it as much as she could, and she also fixed the patches in the back. I left a voicemail for Sara the owner for her to contact me. I waited four days for her to call me back and she never did. I then messaged her on Instagram and asked her to give me a call. I could see that someone read the message but I did not receive a callback. I want at least a partial refund for what Paulina did to my hair. I should not have to pay that much money and not get what I asked for. In fact get my hair botched. Any other type of service you would get your money back. It is completely unprofessional for the owner or anyone not to at least give me a call back. I will never again be going to this place and in fact, my hairstylist mentioned that she's had a few clients come to her to have their hair fixed after going to Hidden Beauty. She offered to give me her own review before going anywhere else. Save yourself, the time, the money and your hair. I can't speak for the other stylists, but just the fact that they will not bother to give you a call back if you have any concerns after your service, it's completely unacceptable and it speaks volumes. I have included some pictures. After finally receiving a message back from not the owner but some assistant, they refused to refund me anything at all. The reason being, "job already executed" hmmmm The owner, however, offered to fix my damaged hair and offered me a discount.. lol unbelievable. Again, stay away from this place. I'm so disappointed I feel scammed out of my money and the fact the owner herself was trying to justify act defensive towards a stylist who told me she's only been doing hair for a year. . She did offer to fix this with toner or whatever but my issue is after 5 hours why are we fixing this ? Which she changed her wording said that toner is needed to fix it sometimes but again why are we fixing it after I've been here for 5 hours and it just can't be fixed because it looks nothing like what I asked for I should be done going on about my day loving my hair. Wish I could post the video of this whole situation I'm not happy the way it was handled either trying to belittle me infront of everyone and involving other customer there as well. Just no terrible experience. Added a picture of my also terrible haircut that I was charged $75+ . . The owner started but didn't finish since she said she would do it after the girl was done with my color but after again being there for 4 hours only for 8 foils and not even being close to happy with the outcome I was so over it exhausted. I stopped by for a hair consultation. I was told that a strip test could be done to see if the color would take or she could cut off a strand of hair test it and i wouldn't have to wait.
