Called for repair of the ignition on our 12 year old Natural Gas Rheem tank heater. Dispatch was prompt, Doniel arrived on time, showed us the corrosion on the existing tank, and recommended replacment. The price for a new 40 gallon Bradford & White was fair and he completed the work while ensuring the tank was properly vented and strapped and added a new catch pan. Highly recommend avoiding. I experienced major concerning issues. My issues were very similar to Joe E's one star review on 12/22/24 My home warranty insurance had Doniel come to my rental property which isn't local to me. His scam is to recommend replacing water heater because it's more profitable and easier for him to replace than fix. He doesn't want to fix it and going to attempt to have you unnecessarily replace it. He will drag his feet and say he's ordering parts or plans to come out to the property to take another look, but he won't and it will put you in a worse situation before he tries to recommend replacing with a new one again. He didn't show up to 3 appointments over a 3-week period for a water heater issue for a disabled elderly tenant. He never placed the diagnosis report into my insurance. He plays the "I'm one of the good guys" card and I fell for it. After all the issues, he snapped and became extremely unprofessional and hostile so he could get out of the work. Cursing, yelling, screaming over me, and using the race card just because he didn't want to show up to for a repair. Update: I had someone else come out and he said that the power was off. My husband and I came home around midnight to a massive puddle of water and what looked like salt in our garage. We quickly determined it was our water heater (the one that came with the house when we bought it) and we had no idea how to fix it. He determined pretty quickly that not only did our water heater need replacing, it was also not installed up to earthquake safety code. Doniel gave us a fair quote for all the work he'd have to do to remove the old unit, move the pipes around to accommodate a new model plus the earthquake bracing, and install the new unit. Service call was for a Tankless Rinnai water Heater . Error code 15 was flashing = no hot water. Service person / owner Doniel was professional indicated he's very knowledgeable on tankless water heaters and the Rinnai Diagnostic testing $150.00 which required him looking online watching trouble shooting videos and reading the paper manual. Took the main cover off, clean a couple parts , and called the manufacturer , however was put on hold the duration . After cleaning a couple small contact points it appeared to work, Doniel reinstalled the main cover we had hot water. Paid him now another $150.00 because he said he got it working . Half hour after he left "no hot water" error code 15 flashing again. Called Doniel back, he advised , the manufacturer indicated it was the gas valve , asked if he ordered it (covered under warranty ) so no but he will call. Thats when things turned south, messaged him later , if he ordered , said he could order online , I mentioned if needs anymore info to message ie no response I text him next day (Sunday) no reply , I called him , and immediately indicated for me to find another repairman . what? I tried talking / he tried explaining , that's when his unprofessionalism took center stage; said he's not my wife that I can talk over , he's not a slave , he doesn't work for no one and on & on I question his experience on more technical situations, requiring a mere push , pull & clean A positive he did re-imburse me $141.00 not sure why it wasn't $150.00 read more

Our Rheem water heater had a sensor fail which stopped the burner from activating - apparently pretty common. Called Rheem who shipped replacement parts over. Called Doniel to come by to install the replacement parts but after he was all done, it turns out the replacement sensor was also defective! Was really in a bind but then Doniel went above and beyond. He found a replacement part he had in his truck and replaced our sensor again, now for a second time for the cost of the part. We added a bit for labor ourselves because it only seemed fair. He was essentially doing most of the job again. I'm certain he spent more time making sure we were up and running than was reflected in his bill and our family is very grateful. It's rare to find someone who really does care about his customers and I learned two lessons from this experience. 1. Don't buy Rheem water heaters. 2. What amazing service! I reached out via a Yelp project at 9:20pm at night and got a response back from Ann in less than 10 minutes. I was able to quickly schedule an appointment for the following day. Doniel called to confirm the appointment and showed up right on time. He talked me through my options, the pluses and minuses, and what each would cost. Their pricing was good, on the low side compared to other quotes I got. A few minutes after he left I called back and asked when we would be able to replace my gas water heater with another similar unit. To my surprise, Doniel told me he had one in the truck and could do it right away! He was back within ten minutes and got to work immediately. The previous water heater had been installed by the previous homeowner, a DIY kind of person. Doniel faced some challenges bringing everything up to code in the space available, and ended up having to use almost entirely new fittings. He even threw in an under pan for free! In less than 2 hours he was done, and we had working hot water again. It was a perfect experience.
