First time ($200) special. My first experience was very different. She saturated my hair the first time and I waited the 45 minutes then rinsed and blown out and flat ironed it then rinsed again and magic sleek finishing conditioner and then blown again. Second time, not sure it was magic sleek or not but this procedure was definitely not followed as the first time. Price$250. When I called to complain the mother said there is a two step process or 3 step and the 3 step is much more money. Again, never notified and it is certainly not on their website. It is totally bait and switch. The mother said that she would respond to my review and I hope she does. This is bad business on every level. I would definitely not recommend this place. Look at the price on website $250+ it says. No mention of 2 or 3 step. 2 reputable hairstylists that I have used for years both told me this is not what I got. These women have 30+ years each in the business and one was trained and certified in Magic Sleek!

Just went in for the first time today around lunch and it was a great experience…read more I walked in and was immediately greeted by one of the barbers speaking Cantonese "zin tao faat?" (which means "haircut?"). I replied yes, put my jacket on the clothing rack, and was seated by another barber (Kelly) right away. I showed Kelly a picture of the way I wanted my cut, and she put in a lot of great effort to make sure it was cut meticulously. I enjoyed the process and mostly just sat back and relaxed while she worked on my hair. At the end of the session, she made sure to ask if I would like the cut styled more (without any extra charge) using some gel or wax (I chose the gel). She also showed me the back of my head to see the new fade using a hand mirror, and it came out looking proper. The haircut was $20 (plus tips) and took around 30 mins. The stylists really listen to you and help choose a style based on your outfit and event. Styling 5/5: my hair turned out great. I got a loose curl/beach wave look. I had hours until my event so my stylist made sure to make the curls tighter so they'd fall throughout the day and be loose for the event, rather than loose at the start and flat by the time of my event. Price 5/5: the price is so much better than you'll pay at dry bar or blowout Bar in the city. $30 for a blowout plus $10 tip, and I walked out in exactly 45 minutes after the full wash and blowout. No one has ever told me this before in all the years I've been coming here. If there are appointment limitations for clients with extensions, that should be communicated clearly when booking--not after the customer has made the trip. The lack of consideration and customer service was incredibly disappointing, especially given my pregnancy. I left feeling like my time didn't matter. Unfortunately, this experience has ensured I won't be returning. There are plenty of other excellent salons in Jersey City that value their customers' time and communicate expectations upfront.
