If there's a salon that you should try at least once in your life, it's Mancini Giuffrè Salon. I've been coming here for a while now, so it's about time to give an honest review. I get a LOT of complements on my hair, and it's thanks to my stylist Giovanni. I've recommended Mancini to coworkers, my patients, and many others. And everyone who's gone here have had excellent experiences as well. I've even used them for my wedding, and entire bridal party! The staff are welcoming and friendly, and the stylists are extremely knowledgeable. And if you need a mani pedi or waxing while ur there, Fatima does it all! Actually, I posted a review on ManciniGiuffre's Salon page a few months ago but given the Coronavirus nightmare, I feel the need to share again and praise the salon for their love and concern via video on their FB Page even while the salon is temporarily closed at this time. Mancini Giuffre is like NO OTHER salon. They actually care and love their clients. While money is only part of it, they literally enjoy what they do and it shows in the results. They treat you like family and there are no cliques. My girl is Nina. She gave me a consultation in July/2019; then my first appointment August 7. Whatever you ask her to do, consider it done. First time I tried this place and I never thought try this place cause I hear its expensive but I ended up getting an appointment through a good friend and I was glad I did it. I just had a basic wash and blow and had my ends cut and ended up doing a deep condition which I loved the deep conditioner just made my hair feel so shiny and like smooth even before blowing it out. My hair dresser name was Geo who did a great job and a nice guy, he was chopping away at my end and I was freaking out a bit because my hair is not long at all and I thought it was going to be too short but ended up being just fine and he did some really nice curls all bouncy and shiny at the end which I loved. They offer you some coffee, water, cappuccinos which were really good and they have a cute little coffee bar in the back , very clean place and where you wash your hair at is really clean and nice and the girl who washed my hair named Amanda did good and was nice and helpful. There prices are not that bad but I love the way I look after so I will pay the price for it and they make you feel good and Geo made sure I was happy and did exactly what I asked for, I appreciate that and I will be back soon! read more

I did my hair and make up here with Emma (makeup artist) and Ada (hair stylist). I couldn't be happier, Emma asked how my makeup style was on daily basis and what my occasion was before she started to work on my makeup. I gave her no pointers or tips and she did an AMAZING job.. I loved my final look. The makeup stayed on all night. I would highly recommend getting your make up done with Emma, friendly and knows what she is doing. I have to say the same for Ada, my very straight unable to do any curls or style with it hair sustained my 4 hour wedding.. usually my hair goes flat after 10minutes .. but this time it lasted longer than I expected. She is easy to work with and does whatever you like without imposing her opinion of how it should be. Great place to go and get all dolled up! read more

I am generally loathe to trust my hair to the locals. That being said, I have 9 month old twins and err, it's been 5 months since my last cut. It was time, and I didn't have the time. To go to the city that is. So I trusted my instincts (plus they send you a 30% off coupon for your birthday -- very generous indeed) and booked an appointment with one of their "top stylists" Danielle. The salon is bright, clean and well ventilated as there were nails being done and hair being colored and no foul odors. There is a small coffee and sweets bar at the back. The staff is quite courteous. My haircut?? It's not the most best fantastical cut I've ever had...yet Danielle listened to what I wanted and that is what I got. I LIKE MY HAIR. The End :) read more

Definitely not impressed. Decided to try this salon after seeing it on Groupon. When I walked in, fifteen minutes early, they pretended that they didn't know I had a Groupon and suggested that they might not be able to see me, despite having an appointment, due to this supposed confusion. After quickly clearing that up they took me to the back for my wash and my deep condition treatment. 5 minutes here and already they had an error on their end, did not introduce me to the stylist, nor offer me a snack/beverage. How... lacking. As a curly hair woman I know exactly how long it takes for my hair to be properly handled. Somehow, in under 10 minutes my hair was washed, conditioned, and treated. Add in the fact that I barely felt my hair being washed and I have little doubt that I'll need to wash my hair myself by tomorrow night. The woman who cut my hair, never introduced herself to me despite knowing I was never introduced to her, and in under a minute "figured" out what "we" were doing. Interesting right? Without touching my hair, offering a suggestion, or anything really. Wow, must be a mind reader! The trim ended up being okay but then again can anyone really botch a trim? Blowout was interesting - I've gone to every salon (low end, high end, etc), and I've almost always had my hair blown out for 30+ minutes with sometimes two people. Mind you, I haven't changed my hair style in years. It's always the same mid length naturally curly hair. Somehow this skinny twig managed to blow it out in under 25 minutes. Somehow my mid shoulder curly length hair managed to survive a wash, deep condition, cut, and blowout in a hour. This tells me that they're incapable of doing their job, quick to get in and out, and that by tomorrow night I'll be sitting in my bathroom for two hours washing, drying, and blowing out my own hair. My favorite thing to do is complain.... so you best believe I'm gonna do it on yelp! Princesses problems! I thought this place screw with my hair cut...basically they didn't do shit... Just trimmed a little... took less then ten mins to cut my hair...it was the most disappointing and unprofessional hair cut I ever had! I think if you want to get an actually hair cut or trying to be adventures then this is not your place... this saloon is pretty sloopy when it comes to just a basic hair cut... Beside the sloppy hair cut... 3.5 Stars, but I'm rounding up, but I'm conflicted. I initially went here with a Groupon, in October. Part one of my conflict, $35 for $80 of services (wash, conditioning treatment, cut, blow out). I wasn't treated like a subpar customer (like you so often are with a Groupon) and really liked my haircut from Alyssa and I got a bunch of compliments on it. So, I decided to come back. I called about 1:25 p.m. to hopefully get an appointment for the same day. They tell me the only opening is 2:00 p.m., so I rush and get there at 1:58 p.m. Sit down, read a magazine for about 15 minutes, no big deal. I get in the chair to get my hair washed, my chair is broken. :( Hair washed then Alyssa tells me that the person who was scheduled before me just showed up and she just has to do a blow out and it'll take 10-15 minutes. So I ask for a coffee, and they give me a conditioning treatment while I wait. I get a small glass, the woman who supplanted me gets a big one (petty I know, but at this point something like insult to injury). I wait about 25-30 minutes. Alyssa does a wonderful job cutting and blowing out my hair. Although, now this entire trip has cost me 2 hours of my life. Another reason for conflict, the total the second time I went was only 45$, not the 80$ they claimed for the value on groupon. I love the haircut. read more

Excellent. I bought a Groupon for full highlights. Jackie did a great job. Everyone in the salon was very friendly and accommodating. The place was decorated very nicelay. It was clean and organized, even the bathroom was nice. There was even parking in the back. It was a little expensive because the toner was an extra fee. A week later I noticed that my highlights weren't as dramatic as I wanted. I went back to the salon and told the receptionist. She called the manager, and the manager told me to come back in. I am not the type of girl who frequents fancy salons and spas. In fact, I very rarely spend that kind of money on myself. However, I recently wanted to try something different so I made an appointment to get "Dream Catchers" at Mancini. My appointment was with Gina, and she was sweet and very talented! That girl turned my overly dry, and fried from bleaching blonde, hair into a gorgeous flowing mane in 1.5 hours! I love love love love it! This was seriously the best money I've ever spent on myself, and make no mistake about it - it is beyond pricey! The salon itself is beautiful, and very clean. I highly recommend! read more

Leah is the best! She does a great job every time. She cuts and colors my Mom's hair and she always looks perfect too! The prices are reasonable as well for hair cuts. I paid a lot more than I expected to get Ombre hair color. Considering I did it a year ago and still haven't had to touch it up, I'm ok with the price... The stylists and assistants are all very nice and accommodating. I think it's a little unprofessional that the assistants sit around in the back socializing, considering the back isn't blocked off, it's part of the open interior of the salon. Worst experience ever- I wish I could leave 0 stars. What cappuccino? I didn't even get offered water. I just asked Nina for a bob. The whole cut took 5 min and when I asked for at least some layers I ended up with uneven ends and a $50 bill. And should I mention it was New Year's Eve? I originally found them through groupon but I didnt actually buy a groupon because they didnt have anything on there that fit the services I needed. After much reviewing, I considered this salon when I was new to town and had heard many good things about it. Much to my dismay, none of what I experienced was anywhere near how "great" these reviews read. To begin, I scheduled an Ultimate Skin Facial, and a Mancini signature pedicure. When I arrived after being put off for a couple days on scheduling, I was eventually just told to show up when ever. A woman took my back as soon as I sat down. She cleaned, toned and moisturized my face. I could've done this myself at my house with my own products. The Ultimate skin facial was and this is off their website: "90 minutes of pure bliss and skin renewal with a 50% gylcolic peel for deep exfoliation that stimulates cellular renewal. Our perfectly buffered concentration sloughs off dead skin cells without irritation to reveal the new, fresh skin beneath. Skin looks younger and "acts" younger." She washed, toned, and lotion-ed my face and it took 40 minutes. So then I went back to the front for my pedicure and didn't wait long at all. Before I was able to step into the pedi tub she said "hang on I has to clean it," sprays something in the tub and rinsed it...When I sat down and she turned on the water, my feet and legs began burning so much that I have a blister on my ankle. She emptied the tub and then scrubbed it while I was in the chair, then rinsed and filled it back up. AND THEN she began the pedicure. She did my cuticles, pummiced my foot, dried it, I picked out a polish after the 4 I wanted were empty and she polished my nails, put perm wax paper in between my toes, put flops on and sent me to check out... After they saw that they had completely messed up my facial and my "unpleasant experience" burning with my pedi, they gave me a 20% off haircut card, charged me, didn't give me a receipt and I left. Things wrong with this picture: No facial, just a regular ritual skin routine. No glycolic peel, no full facial time increment when I was charged for the 60 minute? This is a best guess at this point. No lotion on my foot, no massage on my feet, blisters on my ankle from chemical burns and just blatant disregard with customer service. I WILL NEVER RETURN HERE. I suggest you ask around for other places or if you know someone that goes there, ask and witness the services being done like I should've done and not placed my trust so easily. read more

I bought a groupon for a haircut, conditioning treatment, and blow dry/style. I loved that they didn't have a specific day that Groupon users had to use. (Other salons will only let you use a Groupon on a Wednesday or something.) I didn't catch the name of the woman who shampooed my hair, but she was very efficient and didn't dig her nails into my scalp, which was great. She offered me a coffee and I got a cappuccino with cinnamon, but the mug was so hot I didn't get to drink much of it, but it was pretty good. Nicole cut my hair and she did a beautiful job. I asked for long layers and that's exactly what I got. It looks great and I love it! She's also quite personable but didn't chatter endlessly. I did have to pay a separate tax after redeeming the groupon, but it was less than $2. Even without the groupon I'll go back to Nicole for my next cut. read more

I bought a Groupon deal ($85 worth but pay $35)...this is misleading because it is really a $45 wash, conditioning and cut. The over tan, orange receptionist greeted me and my bf who was accompanying me with chilly regard. I wasn't offered any water nor coffee like some of the other Yelpers were. I waited about 5-10 minutes for Nina who was my stylist. I liked her and the haircut she gave me. She gave me nice layers, snipping off all the dry bits of my hair. While I liked the haircut, my overall experience was less than stellar. I didn't feel welcome at all in this establishment. I probably won't step foot here again. I would rather take my business where they actually want it. read more

I've passed by this salon many times when getting lunch at royal cucina and finally decided to make an appointment for a much needed hair cut after seeing a groupon deal. So glad I did! I was able to make a same day appointment with Nina. The girl at the counter was helpful and friendly. I did not wait at all on a Thursday late afternoon. I had a shampoo followed by a deep conditioning treatment, haircut and blow out. Nina cut my long hair to the exact layered length I asked for. She even took her time when blowing out my hair and managed to add extra volume and body to my Japanese straightened/half curly hair. This salon got my bridesmaids ready with hair and makeup for my big day, and they also did my nails. My bridesmaids were very happy with their hair, especially, and were impressed that the updo's survived a long night of dancing. The salon is also generous with free bagels, cookies, mimosas, coffee, etc., which everyone enjoyed. Booking was easy and they saw us on time. They're friendly and the prices are fair. I appreciated that my very, very nice nail technician showed me some options for my french manicure, but I do wish she had painted the white tips more carefully. This salon is beautiful and so clean. The entire staff is wonderful. I was offered water/coffee by at least 4 different people. They hung up my coat for me and sat me right away no wait. I came in with a disastrous mess of hair on my head from Kimberly at melrose place (see review for melrose place) . Nina is a life saver. Not even sure how she was able to fix my hair but she did. She took her time and made my hair beautiful again. She was so nice and actually listened to what I want. Her assistant Ashley was awesome as well. Nothing but positive things at this salon. 3 stars because they flip flop with their service. I live right by this salon so it's been my go to for years now. I've had haircuts, blowouts, styles, and color done here. A handful of the time I have sat in there and have been rushed through, with multiple people servicing my hair. I've sat down and had one stylist cut my hair and then another do the color and another do my blowout...all in one visit. The salon itself is beautiful inside, you get a drink and some sweets while you are serviced, and everyone is nice. But for the high end prices, you don't get the individual attention you deserve. Don't waste your time on this place! I have been a customer at Mancini for many many years. I stopped getting my hair done their because the last visit they completely butchered my hair and it was totally uneven. However I kept going because Lena is the best when is comes to eyebrows and makeup. After 4-5 years of going to Mancini to see Lena I will NEVER go back. The RUDEST staff I have ever met, they don't know how to do anything but give dirty looks and mess up appointments. Every time I call and make an appointment they left me waiting 30-40mins for a simple 5min eyebrow waxing that cost $17. It's absolutely ridiculous and its not like anyone in their cares cause when i got up and walked out not one person said anything. The owners should really pay more attention to their staff and the way they treat clients. read more

I decided to try this place due to its good reviews. I guess you have to go see someone specific, the lady who cut my hair didn't impress me much. I asked her to shape it nicely (I usually wear layers) and she pretty much cut it straight which does not suit my hair type. The place is also more expensive than other salons so I expected some kind of superior service but didn't get treated in any special way. The lady talked on her cell half the time she was working on me and the whole process took her no more than 10 minutes (and I have a lot of hair). This salon is not worth the prices they put on their "professional stylists". I purchased a groupon for $35 for haircut, blowout and deep conditioning. Thank god I only paid $35 for their services because they have young girls who are stylists and can barely hold the scissors and brush to cut your hair. These salons charge so much money for horrible work. I would definitely not recommend this salon to anyone. Most of the salons are similar, I also went to A.F. Bennet Salon on New Dorp Lane and same issue they gave me a Junior Stylist who did a horrible job she barely even blew out my hair. I came home and had to finish blowing out my hair because it was not styled and still damp. I usually go to Turkish stylist and they do phenomenal work compared to these salons and the prices are a lot less. read more

Had a consultation, showed my stylist alyssa a picture of what I wanted, was told she could absolutely do what I wanted and for $120. I wanted an ombre, paid for my whole head to be bleached one color & just looks like I let my roots grow out. Horrible & patchy. When I was upset with it my stylist told me it was the way my hair fell, but the whole job is patchy. And that in 6 months it will look exactly how I want it. And I was charged $180 for this awful job. I've never left a salon so unhappy. Bad customer service. read more

One star is too good for this salon. I honestly wish there was a zero star option. I went in for a haircut last week. When I met with the stylist, Giovanni, I showed him pictures of what I wanted. He explained that it wouldn't be exact but assured me he would give me something new. I wasn't happy with it leaving the salon but I chalked it up to not loving the flippy and dated blow out. When I went home and tried to style it myself I was stunned at how uneven and awful it looked. The front pieces were extremely uneven and my hair looked like a triangle. There was no saving it. I tried it straight, curled with a curling wand hoping to mask it and my last resort was wearing it up but because of the uneven look I couldn't get it into a ponytail. I was on the verge of tears and when I called the salon to inform them they told me they would have him or someone else fix it. Why on earth would I want any stylist at this establishment to even go near my hair now? They don't even offer you money back. It's their policy. Steer clear of this place. read more
