For a neighborhood bar everyone was friendly and welcoming, no one of those click bars. The place is definitely dated in a good dive way with pool table, atm, music machine, gambling machines etc etc. I got so tired over the years of the same 4 old pictures so a steve stop by was desperately needed. I ordered a gin Rickey which is like over 140 years old and once popular but not today and I get the same confused look every time I order one. The menu is small and I will post a picture of it but I ordered the hot wings .75 cents with a minimum of 10, $7.50 is great for wings at this time in a restaurant. The wings are deep fried and finished off on the char grill, char grill is my favorite so I will need to try a cheeseburger next time. My wings looked good for a neighborhood bar that were medium sized so not tiny but not jumbo and just right. My wings were cooked perfect and still moist that were average so my favorite wing place is still safe. Overall it's a nice friendly bar that is definitely reasonable with two tall double cocktails and an order of wings for $19.50, hell some restaurants have wings for $16 on the menu now days. It's a great place to meet some new people and a conversations with new people. I would definitely go back again and I will.

The place was friendly but not very full and it seemed that the few people that were in were possibly owners and employees by the conversation of scheduling and opening for super bowl tomorrow. The two ladies working the bar had no clue what a Gin Rickey was so no drink on me, any bartender who gets it with out asking gets a drink on me and that's only been 2 so far. If you're considering going to Duke's, don't bother. This place has completely hit rock bottom, and it's clear no one, especially the owner, gives a damn. The owner is unbelievably rude and has flat-out made it known in a conversation "I don't care whether you come here or not." The former owner could never. Why? Because the new owner's got other locations that funnel money into his pockets. So, your business means absolutely nothing to him. The atmosphere is nothing short of depressing. Whatever decorations once gave the place some semblance of life have been stripped away, leaving the bar looking like a rundown and that's given up on trying. No vibe, no energy, no crowd--seriously, there's hardly anyone there anymore, and who could blame them? It's painfully obvious that Duke's is circling the drain. The owner's apathy is contagious, and it shows in every detail. Even the bartenders hint that this place just isn't it anymore...ouch. The bartender was incredibly welcoming and warm and gave us his full attention even though there were plenty of other people already at the bar. As a first timer, that really made me want to return. The atmosphere was so cozy. The lighting and temperature were warm and the music was at a good level - not too loud, not too quiet. I'm…read morehappy to say I'm still a regular patron and it is still being well-run and managed by James Moran. They now offer food and many promotions like Trivia Night, pool tournaments, South Milwaukee High School fundraisers, trips to Ireland/England, and then there's St. Patrick's week. Morans takes over Milwaukee Avenue with daily events and an outdoor Irish festival, which never disappoints. With World Cup upcoming this summer. I look forward to spending a lot of time and money there :). If you've never visited, this summer is a great opportunity to do so. Cheers!

Visited Moran's Pub on Wednesday for their Trivia night. The place was filled with patrons, lively…read moremusic and energy in the place. Our group sat in the back room, which had plenty of seating and could participate in the trivia with ease. The service was attentive, clean, quick and just felt comfortable there. As you do at an Irish bar, I had the Guinness and it took me back to my time in Ireland. This was a great evening - I would totally come back!
