For $14 ,I had a small hamburger bun with no pickles, no onions, just meat and a quarter teaspoon of sauce. I brought it home and put on some of my own sauce and pickles, but sadly, the meat was very dried out ,as though it had been chopped earlier and frozen, or just overcooked.There was no smoke ring on the meat at all. It was brown all the way through ,and the edges were too hard to eat on many of the pieces. I ended up having to knock off about half of the inedible meat ,and so had a very spare sandwich for lunch. Too expensive for this disappointing product,so I won't be back. I love to support local, but I work hard for my money too, and cannot waste it.

Baked beans were just okay, reminded me of pork n beans. The spoonbread had great texture but lacked flavor. Although the cashier wasn't the most pleasant, the manager made up for the lacking customer service. We drove almost an hour from Spring for it. I can't say enough about how amazing the food is here and I'll definitely be going back. The brisket should have been the star, but it tasted like was baked too long in an oven an oven a day or two ago. There was no smoke flavor, and the meat just fell apart. I could have eaten it with a spoon. It was tender, sure, but anybody can do that if you cook it/rest it long enough. The flavor just wasn't there. I'm not sure whether they make their sausage or get it from somewhere outside, but it seemed to be quality stuff before they cooked it. It was coarse ground like I like it with good seasoning. But where was the smoke? The sausage honestly looked and tasted like it was sliced and boiled. I was shocked. The potato salad tasted good, but the texture was all wrong. Everything was chopped up small like it was done in the food processor and there was no love in it. Fried okra is hard to get wrong, but there was nothing particularly right about it either. I was so suspicious about the lack of flavor in my meat that I drove around the back parking lot when we left. There were several racks of neatly stacked firewood, but it was all filled up to the top. Either it had just been delivered, or it's not getting used. I suspect the latter. This is Texas. If you're gonna keep the doors open at a barbecue joint, you have to do better. I love coming to your restaurant, and I hope you get things figured out.

For sides we had fries, Mac n cheese and dirty rice. My potato was loaded, but for some reason my sour cream, cheese and bacon were under the meat. (??). That was a first for me. I like my sour cream cold, but I'm always open to try new things. The BBQ taste honestly tasted a bit too generic for my taste. I also tried a piece of brisket and was sadly disappointed. Normally I grab a piece with decent fat on it, because YUM, to get a flavor boost. It was really bland and had very little bark. It just tasted like it was rushed and seasoning was lacking. It was very juicy and tender, so that's a plus. The dirty rice was decent, the Mac n cheese tasted almost powdery if that makes sense, fries were ok. I have 4 men I feed so I asked them their thoughts, just to be fair in case my taste buds were tainted. I got 3 "meh's" on the brisket and 1"it was ok" They all 3 liked the sausage and rice. They have a very big menu so we won't count them out yet. Will go back again to try something else. Will update then. My husband went in and did say the staff was excellent!
