Potato was loaded with all the fixings. Texas twinkies were my favorite. Ribs were too salty but we will be back to try the smash burger. They have Wednesday specials and I did notice the burger was only five bucks. The team members were constantly checking to ensure your dining experience was on point. La cruda Brand BBQ is in my opinion one of top 2 restaurants of this type in the Lake Houston area. The place is simple but roomy. The spareribs had that wonderful smoke ring, juicy and pulled off the bone cleanly and with no effort. The brisket was Smokey good and fork tender. My wife ordered a baked potato stuffed with brisket. It was huge and she enjoyed it. Neither of us could finish our meals. The sides of fried okra and green beans were not spectacular but respectably tasty. My biggest compliant was the front of restaurant's building there is a skull logo painted against a black storefront. It is way too foreboding for a place that I found very suitable for the entire family. I thought it was a bar selling oven baked bbq. The reality is this a good choice for a bbq meal. Great place to try the entire menu. The parking is limited but they have a drive thru. read more

I really enjoyed La Cruda BBQ! I had the chopped brisket sandwich, the brisket and Mac egg rolls, and a side of fried Okra. Everything was delicious and smoked to perfection. The Fried okra was seasoned and crispy. I really enjoyed the brisket and Mac egg rolls. They had a nice crispy texture. The brisket sandwich was really good also. They give you a lot of meat on the sandwich, you could almost make 2 out of the amount of meat. The customer service was top tier. Stop in for a lunch break from work, Isaac the owner was one of the first to greet us upon coming in. He was thorough about what specials that had going on. The restaurant looks great in terms of decorations, great color scheme, TV's. I had the brisket sandwich is was pretty good and needed very little sauce, my brother had the chicken wings. Tried the restaurant out today for lunch and it was delicious! We had one two meat plate with brisket, turkey, fried okra and potato salad. And a one meat with brisket, brisket corn and green beans. The brisket was so good!!! And my other fav was the brisket corn, definitely try it! All the food was good and we are so happy to have this as a lunch option in Crosby. They even have some dessert options, the cookie was a nice finish. The portions were plenty also, we were full the rest of the day. Yum!!! We basically tried everything. Brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, ribs, pulled pork baked potato. The BRISKET CORN CASSEROLE was AMAZINGGGG, potato salad was good also. Last Week I stopped here for the first time thru the drive thru and I will be back! The brisket sandwich was so big I made 2 out of the one order and delicious, meat was so tender, juicy (not dried out at all), excellent flavor; makes your taste buds crave more. The young girl at the window was so sweet, very knowledgeable and so polite. I asked for a to-go menu and they were out at the time but she showed me a laminated one. About then I assume it's the owner and inquired about my request. He simply had them run off additional copies for me to take home. Very efficient and courteous ( meaning they know how to treat their customers) Payday I will be back! So save a sliced beef sandwich for me next Wednesday read more

The food is good don't get me wrong but it can be a hit or miss in the sense of what you get. Last time I ordered brisket Mac and cheese and it was good and with bbq sauce and full plate. This time I tried the pulled pork Mac and cheese and it's half the plate without bbq sauce. Literally little bit of Mac with some meet on top. The potato my husband got looks good though. read more

I was on vacation and I was spending about a week in Crosby, Texas. With this being my first time in Texas, I thought I could not leave without trying some Texas barbecue. I asked around and some locals pointed me in the direction of La Cruda. In my last night in town I decided to grab an Uber and give them a try. Now I've never had Texas bbq before so I had nothing to compare this too, but if all Texas bbq is this good I would consider moving out this way. La Cruda absolutely sets the bar high. Let me start off by stating what I noticed when I first arrived. Parking lot was empty and my first thought was this was a bad sign and my thoughts worsened when I walked inside. There was only a young lady and her child ahead of me. I prepared myself to be disappointed, but little did I know it was going to be some of the best food I have ever eaten. The counter could be a little misleading with the menu on the left side but you have to order on the right side. I noticed several people after me made the same mistake. I decided to try a brisket quesadilla and a pulled pork sandwich. After I ordered I poured myself a Coke and picked my seat. I have to say they do have a really big tv in their dining area, great if there is a game on. My food came out really fast, served by a young and polite gentleman. Before I had a chance to take a bite another gentleman came from behind the counter and brought me another slice of brisket and said he had cut too much and set it on my plate. Now up until this point I thought I've had some tender meat but I was wrong. I tried to pick the meat up using two fingers but it just fell apart. It melted I my mouth ALMOST like cotton candy. The brisket goes really well in the quesadilla because the cheese helps hold it together. The flavor was on point, not bland and not too much salt. I think they found the perfect balance. Now on to the pulled pork sandwich. I tried a little piece of the pork before I took a bite of the sandwich. The flavor was amazing. They give you bbq sauce on the side but I really don't think the sandwich needs it. Pork was extremely moist, tender and full of flavor. The portions of meat they put in the sandwich and the quesadilla were extremely generous. I would highly recommend La Cruda not only to those visiting Crosby but to anyone in the Houston area. If I had to say anything negative about La Cruda it would be they aren't open long enough. I believe I went on a third day and their ours were 5:30pm to 8:30 pm. Once again I absolutely loved this restaurant and plan on visiting again, you should too. read more

Came home to Crosby to see a new BBQ joint had opened, and I am amazed by how wonderful this food is. We ordered the Elote Tacos and it was one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten!!! I cannot recommend enough. The restaurants atmosphere is great, wonderful view of the ponds. Customer service is amazing as well. I will look forward to coming back on my trips home. read more

New place but they need to improve- start by educating the servers/behind counter on food handling- multiple instances of cross contamination seen in 1 visit - like rubbing mouth then touching the food glove or playing w pants closure then handling items. Everything went well until I got my plate. I ordered the two meat brisket and sausage, potato salad, and fried okra. The portion was huge-- enough for three people -- but I couldn't enjoy it. The brisket should have been the star, but it tasted like was baked too long in an oven an oven a day or two ago. There was no smoke flavor, and the meat just fell apart. I could have eaten it with a spoon. It was tender, sure, but anybody can do that if you cook it/rest it long enough. The flavor just wasn't there. I'm not sure whether they make their sausage or get it from somewhere outside, but it seemed to be quality stuff before they cooked it. It was coarse ground like I like it with good seasoning. But where was the smoke? The sausage honestly looked and tasted like it was sliced and boiled. I was shocked. The potato salad tasted good, but the texture was all wrong. Everything was chopped up small like it was done in the food processor and there was no love in it. Fried okra is hard to get wrong, but there was nothing particularly right about it either. I was so suspicious about the lack of flavor in my meat that I drove around the back parking lot when we left. There were several racks of neatly stacked firewood, but it was all filled up to the top. Either it had just been delivered, or it's not getting used. I suspect the latter. This is Texas. If you're gonna keep the doors open at a barbecue joint, you have to do better. I love coming to your restaurant, and I hope you get things figured out.

The food was 6 stars if i coukd add one more i would ..i travel the u.s and try bbq restaurants and this one makes my top 5 list comming in at #2 ive been to every state in the u.s and was lucky to find this little gem called La.cruda brand in a small town of crosby tx. The menu is on a board by the register and it is small, but you need to talk to them to see what is actually available. They basically have sandwiches, potatoes, sides and some cupcakes in a display case. I arrived at 1pm, a little late, but they were sold out of brisket. They only had ribs, sausage and chicken. I ordered the 2 meat potato with ribs and sausage, and added a bottled soda. There is no soda fountain and I didn't see any tea. I waited about 5 minutes for the potato to come out and it's a massive display. They had added a smoked chicken leg on top as well, so technically 3 meats. I peeled the meat off the ribs which was easy and added it to the sausage slices. I ate the chicken as you normally would eat a chicken leg. It took me a while to even get to the potato since there was a large amount of meat to get through first. Then I had to get through nearly 1/2 lb of melted cheese which was delicious before I could finally taste the potato. It was delicious as well and quite a bit of food. For around $16, I felt it was well worth the price. Ambiance is not exactly 5 stars, as they really don't seem to do much dine in service, but there are plenty of clean tables if you choose to eat there like I did. I enjoyed the sausage quite a bit and it seemed homemade. The ribs were very good as well and tender. I wasn't a big fan of the chicken, but then again, I don't normally order chicken at BBQ restaurants.
