Is the $500 per hour a current rate for a plumber? I had my tankless water heater flushed and the ignitor and a flaming rod cleaned on January 5. I was quoted $359 (this can be verified with the recording they do while talking to each customer), but when plumbers came they charged me $659 as each service (flush and clean) were separated. They were here about 1 hour and 20 minutes and used a $20 bottle of the cleaner. While the pump was running, they were cleaning the flaming rod. In another words, they were doing two things at the same time, but I got charged for each service separately. I complained to the front office and was told that a manager would call me. He did not have a decency to call. Guys who came did a good job, but I got charged almost double. Cannot select 0 stars so it is 1 star. read more

Called Just Plumbing (JP) because they had done excellent work for I and my wife in the past. This time I notified JP of the problem (loose drain pipe in tub that was draining tub water under house instead of down the drain). An appointment was set up and I fully expected them to fix the problem same day like last time I used JP. Instead the plumber arrived & told me it was a Diagnostic trip to locate the problem. He discovered a loose drain pipe in the tub that was draining tub water under house instead of down the drain (Duh). I was not informed when the appointment was made that it was a "Diagnostic trip" . I fully expected JP to be prepared to do the work I had requested. Instead I was charged $110.00 for the "Diagnostic trip". JP SHOULD HAVE BEEN PREPARED TO DO THE WORK REQUESTED WHEN THE APPOINTMENT WAS MADE so I would not have have to another full day away from my home (hour & half of driving, waiting for JP to arrive and then do the work) while they worked on repairing my deceased mother's home. JP was informed of this when the appointment was made. I scheduled a Service Appointment, not a Diagnostic trip. JP's work is OK. BUT check with them to see if you are going to be charged for an unncecssary $110 "Diagnostic trip" when the problem has already been identified and provided to JP and all you wanted was a good plumber to fix the issue. read more

We called Just Plumbing for an estimate to replace some bathroom tub fixtures. Nothing crazy or unusual. They wanted 605$ ! And that was with us providing the fixtures ourselves. You do the math. If a skilled plumber could do the job in 2 hours that's still 300$ an hour. My wife and I literally laughed out loud. I guess we'll never know how skilled or unskilled the plumbers would have been. I could screw the job up myself several times before remotely approaching what these guys wanted. They priced themselves right out of a job. It reminded me of a story my grandfather told me about how some people would rather have 125% of nothing rather than 75% of something. My opinion is that you look elsewhere. WAY overpriced. UPDATE: It's now 10 May 2017. Just finished doing this job myself for about 17 cents on the dollar. And my tools were "free". It took me, a complete novice, about 90 minutes to complete this job. I replaced the stems, seats, gaskets, shower head, overflow plate, fixtures....everything. I got all my parts and tools from Lowes/Home Despot and, so far anyway, nothing leaks. I called Just Plumbing from a recommendation. They were at my house in less than an hour, fixed two portions of the problem immediately so everything was functioning again. They called for utility markings because it appeared digging up a line in the yard would be necessary to complete repairs. The office staff was helpful setting up appointment to replace water heater. The service technicians drained to hot water into our grass, which due to the heat, killed an area of grass. I wish I could give them no stars at all. I called for an estimate and was giving a date and four hour window. Completely okay with that. No other information was provided. Plumber came and talked a lot but was business like and knowledgable. We're good. He mentioned a small fee for the estimate halfway through the discussion. Not particularly happy since I hadn't been told that before but I was thinking $30 or so. Fine whatever. No, $125.00 for an estimate that I wasn't even told was going to have a fee. I called the office and was told that this is their minimum fee. End of conversation. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Or be ready to pay the cost that they don't tell you about. And just another point. The estimate was to replace two spigots and add an entire new one. When I asked about removing the addition to lower cost, I was told to just divide it by 3 to get the price for each. If I could give 0 stars I would. My business (multi-family community) contacted Just Plumbing this past Saturday to report a major water leak. We were promised it would be repaired that Monday and required the use of an excavator. They did not come Monday because of another job that had the machine scheduled. Of course this would've been nice to know on Saturday or we would've called another plumber. They then assured us they would be out on Tuesday, but rain delayed this for the second time which I do not hold them responsible for. We were sure they would be out first thing Wednesday morning (today) and of course, they were no-shows again. When I called Trish in the dispatch center, not once did she apologize for the inconvenience of 600 residents being put on notice for having no water, but instead she made excuses for having other jobs that needed the machine and short staffing. When I asked her what the resolution could be, she said "I don't know what you want me to tell you." It was then I asked for a third time if technicians were going to be on site sometime today when she told me to find a new plumber. Just got off the phone with Ann, a part owner in Just Plumbing. The company had recently done some work preparing for a two vanity sink and installed a toilet. They did have to come back because of their error. The soldered joint they made was leaking and the pipes for one sink were installed 5 inches off. Fast forward to this morning. I am ready for 3 faucets, plumbing under the sinks, etc to complete the job that they started. Ann called me to ask when someone could meet them there. When I told her I was concerned about the fact that the price had more than doubled from what I was originally told, she accused me of yelling at her, when I remained calm and collected. I really wanted the job done. I asked what percentage of the job was materials and she said no she would not tell me anything about that. She said "if I wanted to know the cost I could go down to Lowes and price them myself." I continued to be professional while she did not and she eventually hung up on me.
