Visited this wonderful restaurant while in the city for the Cincinnati Music Festival. Was here 2 years ago and it was so good , we had to return! Amazing food! The brisket and pastrami were so tender and flavorful. The ribs falling off the bone. The sides were amazing - baked beans flavorful and has a little bite, Mac n cheese along with the potato salad was just like your grandma was in the kitchen. I called to make sure they were open and see what was sold it - they were out of greens but oh well - we wanted the important items! Tiffany and Amber were amazing ! Very welcoming and were the ones to suggest the best value for 8 of us . We had plenty and leftovers for when we got back to our place . The place was clean and spotless, including bathrooms. Beef brisket was tender with a good smoky flavor. I just wish they would've trimmed the fat before putting it on a sandwich. on top of that I also asked for onions pickles and California barbecue sauce, and nothing was in my bag when I got home other than that I may have given them five stars. read more

Food was good and I used to come in all the time, but I recently had a horrible customer service experience. For some reason they moved the cash register so you pay at the end of the line. We came in, and had to stand there forever while the cook was preparing huge catering order. Restaurant was empty so I asked if I can just pay for my order and take a seat while he finished the orders ahead of me. I couldn't believe it, he said "no" He saw us standing there for 15min and expected to stand there further until he was ready to take our order. No thank you, we just walked out. read more

Everyone always raves soooo much about Just Q'in. I'm so happy I finally was able to make it there. One of the reasons I really wanted to go is their unapologetic expression of their faith. It's on their shirts, it's on their walls and it's definitely in the way they treat their guests. And they're also black owned! For food, I ordered the rib dinner with Mac n cheese, greens, and cornbread. So so good y'all. The ribs were dry rubbed which is my favorite way to have them. There was bbq sauce that you could dip them in if you'd like. The Mac n cheese was nice and seasoned pretty well. The greens were just ok to me. Didn't hate or love them. I'd probably try a different side than this one next time I will absolutely keep supporting them in the future and am excited to try other things there! read more

The flavor of the day was dry. Dry ribs and very dry brisket. The pastrami wasn't dry, but it was still just ok. I was told this place was good from a friend, I really wanted to like it but I was left disappointed. The food was rather pricey. On the upside, everyone was very nice. I have really had a hard time finding good food in Cincinnati when I come there for work. I've tried several places and it has been hit or miss. Well, Just Q'in HIT THE MARK when we went there last Tuesday night for a group dinner. We ordered "Not The Last Supper" and an extra whole chicken, with some extra sides. Besides the food being amazing, the two team members that were working that night were great! As well, after reading the mission and the values of the restaurant that were on the table, I would have to say with conviction they exhibited those values. I can assure you I will be back for a couple reasons, the food was delicious, the team working exhibited the values of the company, as well as it's a black owned business. This place is amazingly delicious and heart and soul is put into everything here! Great little patio you walk through before getting into the cozy indoor seating area. The kitchen is open and alive with everyone working hard. The brisket is THE bomb and they are doing it right. I tried collard greens for FIRST TIME ever and they did not disappoint! Their Mac & cheese is creamy and so good you might sell your first born for it. I love how they give you a pickle and onion slice on each plate (Texas style I'm told). My friend has been bragging about Just Q'in for the longest and I wanted to try a new bbq place. I'm not familiar with the area but it's on the corner of E Mcmillan & Kemper. They don't have a parking lot (that I know of)...so we parked on the street. No biggie. We were greeted immediately and our food was ready in no time. We both got the Goliath meals which consisted of brisket, two sides, a slice of bread and pickles & onions. We had the option of regular bbq sauce or their hot bbq sauce (we got hot). They also asked if we liked the lean or fatty part of the brisket. I got the fat part (I love fat). The sauce was HOT...even for me lol. I liked it though. The meat was perfect the sides we got were mac & chz and greens. They were ok. The workers were nice and the food was inexpensive compared to other places and it was really good. I really wanted to love this place and they did not disappoint. First thing's first: as a Cleveland native, born and raised, I sometimes miss the food of my youth. Just Q'in make the best (and possibly only) polish girls and polish boys in Cincinnati. Polish boys/girls are a Cleveland staple made by combining polish sausage, fries, bbq sauce, and coleslaw on a bun. Polish girls have an added portion of pork or brisket. The sandwiches were so good, I'd feel comfortable putting them up against any of their Cleveland counterparts. The 5 stars I gave, speak to the whole experience one has at Just Q'in. I got serious positive vibes from the staff and the decor. This place prides itself on being an honest, authentic, transparent business, with good food to boot. In this day and age, it's great to see that there's no hidden agenda. The message I get is that Just Q'in is interested in exceptional food and exceptional business. Period. Love the spicy BBQ sauce, we got half the ribs dry rubbed and the other half plain, dry rub was great, little sweet, and tangie. the non rubbed ribs were also great, also got the brisket which melted in the mouth. mac and cheese top notch, and the baked beans, dang had some zing to them. 1st time there and was really excited. Place is clean and allows dine in. Everything is à la carte small side was $4 each and chicken was $15. Chicken was undercooked no had no flavor. Baked beans were nasty with a spicy taste and had onions and peppers in it. Potato salad made me sick. Been burping up eggs since I ate it. (2days ago) Diarrhea for two days after eating there. Greens were muddy tasting macaroni was dry. Staff told us food was made from scratch and fresh. LIES. Spent $45 just be disappointed. Will not return/recommend. read more

When the first pangs of hunger for barbecue hit, I did what any self-respecting lover of food does: I did a search for "best BBQ in Cincinnati." The usual suspects came up. And though I originally had my doubts about this faith-inspired restaurant (mostly because of the lack of wings on its menu), I finally saw the light. Hallelujah! The moist brisket filled a deep barbecue-shaped hole in my heart that no other could fill. I thought that it was the best brisket I've had outside of Texas as it melted all of its smokey-deliciousness in my mouth. I truly felt blessed. The rib tips were tasty but didn't send me into a rapturous state. The smoked chicken was just fine and was exactly what I expected: flavorful but a little dry. But that was OK because whenever this bbq experience strayed from the path of the straight and narrow, the brisket brought me back. The chosen sides (mac & cheese and beans) were also a Revelation: generous portions - unlike nearly every other bbq restaurant in the world - and very satisfying. Finally, I almost never care about the service. For me, it's all about the food...but the folks that worked here were some of the friendliest I have ever encountered in the city. They really seemed full of joy to be at work and it was a contagious spirit that was evident with every customer there - perhaps because they were also enjoying mouth-watering brisket. So I can suggest that this is the best bbq in Cincinnati. The meat is spiced, smoked, and juicy. The sides are to die for. The bbq sauce is delicious and you can tell it's homemade. But the service is always soso Even today with me arriving at 11:15 had me waiting till 11:22 before I placed a order. There was a man prepping but not taking any orders when I arrived. The women are super sweet and I'm not upset, I would have just liked a sorry for the inconvenience or even the person working to tell us it would be a minute. First let me start by saying this is a Black Owned Business! Yessss! Love it! Whew! The best BBQ in town! You can taste the love, time and effort put into this BBQ. When I say these young black males were serving that bbq and had the most welcoming and friendly personalities, that is what added the cherry on top of my experience here. As a customer, I really appreciated that. We were greeted by Terry who was working the cash register and I told him it was our first time. He instantly and happily broke down the menu without me asking a single question and did it so enthusiastically. Thanks Terry! There was another young guy (I didn't catch his name) who consistently checked on us as we dined in their outside area. While I don't have any complaints about the food or service, my only complaint is about the price. I will say while they are good they are expensive. However, you do get your bang for your buck in taste, quality, and portion size. Now to the food! We ordered some of everything! Let's just say we ate GOOODT! Lol! We ordered Ribs, Pulled Pork, Chicken, Mac&Cheese, Greens, Baked Beans, Potato Salad, and Peach Cobbler. I don't have one complaint about anything I ate. Everything from the meat to sides was seasoned and cooked well. The greens were even good and that's rare. The Mac&Cheese was also good which can be hit or miss at other places. The meat was so flavorful and tender. Their BBQ sauce is also very good. They package it and sell it in the shop as well as in retail stores. Overall, this will now be my go to BBQ spot. Already posted on FB, but this place deserves another shout out. Folks are friendly and helpful with the menu, and everything we had was, WOW! Great! Seriously, I had the brisket and it was tender and great flavor, warm potato salad that was smooth and creamy, cold slaw was excellent. Wife had the chicken, comes as a half, tender as could be, yeah, great stuff. You have to get the baked beans, sweet AND spicy. I'm not usually a baked beans kind of guy, but dang! These are IT!! I have been grabbing take out from her quite a bit during covid. My cousin and my mother whom she is caring for love the ribs. They offer the fresh rib or even cold rib for $20a slab. For myself. I was so happy to find JQn again. I was a big fan when they were in Newton and love their new place in Walnut Hills. Their food is fantastic: Ribs rival for best in the city (2nd to Walts in NKY for me); great sides - my picky dad loves their baked beans and pulled pork; desserts are good tho my last peach cobbler had too much cobbler.) The owners and staff are all phenomenal as well always helpful and service with a smile. Great tasting bbq! We weren't expecting much when we came here but wow! Definitely great bbq. Pulled pork was not dry like when I normally buy it and the brisket were also tender and juicy. Just the right amount of fat for my hubby. Their collard greens is the nest I've had! Not bland like usual. And all other sides tasted good too. (Had potato salad, beans and Mac n cheese.) They even have us a side of peach cobbler for free because it was our first time there! The finest brisket I've tried so far in Cincinnati: and given *things* a lot of it has just been takeout! So that's a pretty good sign of what they've got to offer, right? Sauces are excellent. Definitely recommend if you're looking to use those next time you're grilling/'q'in'. Smoked chicken is also quite good! I mean I really don't know what they have on the menu that isn't good. Ribs are just occasionally not as tender as I like, but then again: it's hard to get those perfect when you can't dine in. I ordered rib tips , smoked chicken, Mac and cheese ,baked beans and jalapeño corn bread. The food was horrible. The rib tips were tough made my jaws hurt from chewing and they weren't really seasoned. The chicken was ok just ok. I'll give it a 3/10. The Mac was ok as well but I've definitely had better. The baked beans were too sugary. If you're a diabetic stay clear ! The corn bread was gritty. Long story short I will not be patronizing again. Oh and they give you dried out onions and pickles.
