I've been getting Botox for five or six years. I used to go to my plastic surgeons office but a friend of mine recommended this place. I've never had a better experience of Botox that lasted longer. I've been going to Nikki for 17 years for Botox and she is the best! She will be my go to for all my anti aging.

I went in to get fillers and my experience was less than pleasant. The injector Kasie is awesome! If you are lucky you get to have her do your work. She is professional and experienced. The spa itself is less than ideal. After they make you sign your life away and agree to arbitration should something go wrong, you get seated in a room. The injection went well until the end when I was given ice packs . I went to the front with ice pack and the girl in the front said "oh sorry you can't take that we reuse them" . The look of shock and horror on my face as she said while Covid was at its peak . I said you are kidding right ? And she said oh no I am not, but don't worry we sterilize them with wipes!" I am a medical professional my self and I explained to her you cannot sterilize plastic bags which contacts people bleeding lips and cheek. You can at best disinfect them. The thought of reused ice packs touching my face made me extremely angry. I emailed the owner who responded and apologized for the ice pack incident. When I asked her if t was true that she reused ice packs. She did not give a clear answer and said the girl in the front just didn't know since it was her daughter who was covering for the front desk lady. At a time when it is the most important to be following osha safety rules and spending extra effort on maintaining cleanliness and caring about patient safety, the only thing these people care about is saving a few bucks on ice packs. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

TRYING to delete the one star. Nicki is NOT a Dr. & waters down the Botox to make $$$. Unfortunately, from the day I walked in there it was a bad experience w/her sharing struggles from divorce & now making tons. I just inquired about procedures, Botox & dualism (sp ?). I went back first 2 times for touch up, Nicki advised me I needed more, over $400! I said fine. Months went by, if I needed touch up ALWAYS paid. I'm happy to show pic of her work 2 weeks & share phone message she left me after I had been calling a week & a half! Point being, had botox done, 2 weeks ago & ABSOLUTELY nothing to show & I would have to give lots more money! I've been doing this for years w/FAB results. Save your money, energy, & stress Dr. Balikian, Del Mar, $9 per unite w/BEST reputation & stands behinds his work! I can also share the train wreck bruises on my face! I have never written something like this, but I have been taken complete advantage of & feel like San Diego should know. Go to qualified Doctor, with comparative prices if not better. I've gone to Just Skin Inc. for over 10 years on and off, for Botox and filler. I used to recommend this place to friends all the time. Last summer, I decided to get a laser treatment to my face & neck, which I was told would help- at least some- with my acne scarring. Two months after the procedure (and again at 4 months after), I reached out to the owner with questions/concerns as to why I wasn't seeing any improvement. She said it was too early to evaluate the results, and asked me to CALL BACK AND SCHEDULE A FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENT at the 6 month mark. It's been 6 months, so I called to schedule. When the condescending receptionist Monica returned my call, she said THEY DON'T DO FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENTS and asked "what exactly is it that you're wanting?" "We don't guarantee results, and everyone's DNA is different"... No sh*t you can't guarantee results, but how about at least taking a look at my skin (and my before pics) and having a discussion with me about the treatment outcome (and why I have zero improvement?? And maybe offering some other suggestions.). My dermatologist, as well as friends who wanted to be honest, agreed that they see no improvement whatsoever. I guess clients don't matter after the fact (and after they've received your money). VERY disappointing service and lack of professionalism Nikki and Monica. read more

I have been going to Nikki now since June 2010 and have had 2 CO2 Mixto laser treatments on my acne-scarred face, and fillers on an ongoing basis. I originally just wanted Juvederm for the old-lady lines around my lips (not lips themselves!) but expanded Juvederm in "parentheses" facial lines that extend from nose to mouth to chin. Was so happy, I expanded into Restylan under my eyes on a regular basis. We've done bits of Juvederm and Restylan in my cheeks which I was happy with and then today I did Radiesse in my cheeks and facial lines to be longer-lasting. I am about to turn 58 and I look 40. For someone with such a bad skin history, I look damn good! I do have to keep up the fillers but they all work like a charm on me. I do a little at a time and I look VERY natural. Nikki treats me with great care, Brittany and Karinna are great. read more

I went for the first time to have filler and Botox. I bruised but I've been taking vitamins that may account for easy bruising when you puncture the skin. Nikki was very kind and had me follow up on Saturday where she filled my laugh lines. My face bruising is almost gone but I have to say I really like the results!! If I could leave zero stars, I would. I had a very frustrating experience dealing with a staff member there. I found both the owner and Stacy to be impatient, condescending, patronizing and rude. The rude part was the worst. After making an appointment for my second treatment there, which was to be a micro needling treatment, I called with some questions and concerns. The lady on the phone was dismissive, impatient and very condescending. After calling a different place in La Jolla, where they were delighted to answer all my question, I called back to cancel. I literally called 20 plus times over the course of a week and left at least 6-7 messages. I also tried leaving a message by email to no avail. They had my credit card on file and was afraid I would get charged for my appointment if I didn't cancel. On the day before my appointment, just as I was getting ready to drive th myself to let them know, Stacy finally answered the phone. she offered zero apologies for not having returned my numerous calls and even lied saying she had texted me, which she never did. I was just perplexed by her very poor customer service and rudeness, offering zero apologies for my many unanswered calls and messages. I will also add, I got this rude vibe the first time I went there for an IPL. That first treatment, by the way, was less than satisfactory but Nikky, the owner, didn't seem the least concerned and offered zero support or willingness to address concerns. Find yourself another place to give your business to. There's many out there happy to take your calls and questions and who will appreciate you as a customer. read more

Just had my first treatment ever and I cannot stop raving about the experience. Nikki performed my services and I dont feel like I overspent, actually the opposite. She is super conservative and was upfront and honest about what she felt my face could use and what she felt might be overboard. The office was cute, clean and trendy. Just Skin is a little hidden gem in the back of a medical-type building in Encinitas. From the first time I called to make an appointment to the moment I walked out the door, I experienced nothing but warmth and a helpful and caring attitude from the staff. The receptionist was exceptionally delightful, answering all of my calls and questions without sounding the least bit annoyed. My main appointment was with Brittany, the aesthetician, but I also chatted with Nikki, the owner, while I waited for my room to be set up. She answered some of my miscellaneous beauty-related questions with complete and honest answers. It was like a mini, free consultation! But let me start from the beginning- I was planning on getting away for the weekend and spending some time in San Diego, something I often do, but was in desperate need of a facial and some general pampering. I had considered getting a peel for quite some time, but was nervous because I never felt like I received straight answers from other aestheticians. After multiple calls to spa's in the area of San Diego where I was staying, Just Skin had won my heart. Every concern I had was addressed and the prices were incredibly reasonable! I'm sure the staff could tell I was nervous upon arrival, but after chatting a bit with Nikki and Brittany, I felt much more at ease. A peel may not be the most glamorous experience, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. It also helped that Brittany walked me through everything she was doing, and was very concerned about my comfort level during the process. She told me which products I could benefit from without sounding like she was trying to sell me everything in the store. I appreciated her honesty regarding what I should and shouldn't be using on my face. I left with a handful of cleansers and creams which have been working wonders on my skin (and did I mention their prices are VERY reasonable?!) I have even been able to keep up with getting regular facials at Just Skin without tearing a serious hole in my wallet. I've been here 3 times, with another appointment coming up, and had great experiences every time! Nikki and her staff have always been professional and extremely skillfull with each and every treatment I have had at her Med Spa. Treatments for me have included Botox, Juvaderm, facials and muscle stimulation for weightloss. Recently I had a service to improve some ageing issues that were bugging me. I did not have a particularly severe problem but I was keen to address the issues before it got worse. I can't remember the name of the procedure but it was for the area around the bottom portion of my face( as in jowls and fat beneath my chin causing an ageing appearance around my jaw line. It has been approximately 4 weeks since doing this particular treatment and as I did see results very soon right after the treatment Nikki told me Id see the real results weeks later. LOVE MY RESULTS!! I have not lost weight nor started back to my gym routine or met any of my new years resolutionsI However if I say so myself, I think my face is finally recognisable as the way it used to look years ago. I am actually in shock at how good the results are! I can't wait to go back in to show Nikki! I am inspired to get healthier and work out to address the rest of me. I have been going to Nikki at Just Skin for Botox regularly for over 2 1/2 years. The office is convenient and nice, the staff is nice, and every time I have gotten exactly what I asked for. I think the price per unit is very fair. It's something I personally wouldn't shop price for (as it involves my face. Much like I didn't shop price for my LASIK surgery). I have a close friend that goes other places and ends up with barely any wrinkle reduction. The Botox I've gotten for my furrows between my brows has worked every time. Over the past few months, Nikki has provided IPL on my chest, arms, and hands twice, botox, Mixto C02 laser resurfacing, and Juvaderm. The recent negative review confounds me as Nikki is one of the most caring, competent, and professional health providers I have ever been to. I am an over-the-top researcher and VERY careful with my money. I originally found Nikki and Just Skin through having the most positive reviews for a health spa right here on Yelp - which I am so very thankful for to help the unknowing consumer make wise decisions! (I'm not sure where those reviews have gone). Last year, the top two health spas on San Diego A List were Just Skin and another. (If Nikki truly was unprofessional and incompetent, and out for the money - it would have been impossible for her clinic to be voted #2 in all of San Diego County). I chose Just Skin because it was practically half the price of the health spa that was voted #1, which was also awesome! On a side note: I look for the best quality work for the most reasonable prices. With this in mind, I contacted Tiffany H.'s recommendation to go to Dr. Balikian in Del Mar for botox at $9 per unit. It sounded like a great deal! The receptionist was very kind, but baffled, as their botox have always been $11 per unit. For me, Just Skin provides the most cost-effective, quality work with amazing outcomes - in a friendly, caring, stress-free environment. I live in Escondido, and it's well worth the 40-minute drive! I went to Nikki for an IPL treatment which cost $600.00. I have had them many times in the past with someone else and always experienced a coffee ground appearance on my skin afterwards because it targets the brown spots and makes them appear darker and then sloughs off. However after the treatment with Nikki I saw NOTHING. I went to her immediately and showed her my skin and I understood her to say she would do it again for free. I said great and made sure that the receptionist put that in my file. I waited a year and went back thinking we were good and much to my shock she said she didn't say she would do an IPL for free but said she would only put a chemical peel on to treat the spots. I pointed out to her I didn't pay the $600 for chemical treatments I paid for IPL and she needs to stand by her work. She said that because I waited a year that she couldn't honor anything because she didn't know how much sun damage I have had since treatment. WOW!! REALLY??? I have never Yelped anyone before. But truly felt ripped off! Bottom line is Buyer BEWARE. read more
