    Pork belly plate

Talk about HAPPY COINCIDENCE I pulled up to get gas in Menomonee Falls after a long morning at office. The unmistakable smell of smoked meat drew me to the Smoked @ 225 truck. The ordering system was easy and the owners/entrepreneurs were very friendly. I got hr pork belly plate with sweet potato fries, collard greens with smoked turkey and corn bread. The food was fresh, delicious and I definitely have found a hidden gem of food truck in Smoked @225. Please support this veteran owned food truck, they have great quality food for a very affordable price.

About once a year I crave BBQ. My co-worker recommended Smoked@225 food truck and figured we would check them out. On Saturday's they are usually outside of Three Cellars in Menomonee Falls off Good Hope Road. I ordered the Ribs, Half Chicken, Smoked BBQ Egg Rolls and several sides (baked beans, collard greens and yams with ginger and lemon zest). I could definitely make a meal out of those egg rolls and the yams! Get there early, as they do tend to run out. We got there about two hours after they opened and got the last order of ribs.

AMAZING. High quality bbq with a slight Wisconsin twist. Tender juicy pulled pork on a fresh Kaiser roll. The greens had just enough spice and even included smoked turkey. The Mac and cheese was extra cheesy and rich. Sandwich and two sides was a deal at $14. Owner was especially kind and joking around with customers, and the service was quick. I think they park at different sites in the Menominee Falls area, so check the website for their current location.

I'm a Bbq hound so I try it all over and I learned early on that Bbq has endless ways of cooking techniques and flavors so I'm very objective with the reviews and report what I experience so let's start this one, yah I have a favorite style of ribs but that doesn't make all else worthy of less stars. This truck is on Appleton Ave in Menomonee Falls on Saturday and Sunday, each in a different spot not far far from each other. Five people were in line as I pulled in which is a good sign. The place has been here since 11/17 and is Vet owned. The menu has all the usual suspects and I'm going for the rib meal with two sides and a mini corn muffin. Probably the coolest food truck thing I have ever seen is the pager which we were encouraged to sit in our cool cars on this hot day and return for our food when it's ready. The smoker was smoking away on the back of the trailer which is a good sign. The rib meal is 3 bones or a 1/4 rack with some tip on. The ribs were very tender fall off the bone moist, very smokey and very barky. The ribs have a nice seasoned bark that is as messy as Bbq sauce because it was all over my fingers. The greens were nicely done with bits of smoked turkey in them and nicely seasoned. The Mac noodles were cooked to mush but all the melted real cheese, no cheese sauce here kind of made up for that because mushy noodles in a cheese sauce is the worst. The mini cornbread muffin was the dry kind and hard to swallow. As always with Bbq the sides can be lacking from my experience so I don't let the sides reduce any stars and only take the meat into consideration because that's what we go for realistically. Overall this placed did scratch my Bbq itch today and I have to get back to try the other meats in the future like the brisket. If all you know is chain Bbq restaurants and you want an example of real smoked Bbq ribs with a dry rub that yields a great bark than give them a try and get the greens, it's a southern thing I'm glad is becoming more popular up north.

It's hard to keep a great thing a secret for too long! My go-to here is the smoked pulled chicken and I love their NC mustard sauce with it. The pork here is also amazing and I've yet to have a side I didn't like. Portions are a good size too and in-line with the prices. The old-fashioned is also tasty and a solid choice to round out your meal. Service is always fast and food is consistently good. I'm already looking forward to our next visit but as they've become busier, I wish there was a waitlist option. If you're lucky, you could catch their food truck out and about as well to get a taste of their menu! Yum!

I found some excellent Bar B Q in Wisconsin....Milwaukee to be exact. I had dinner at Double B's…read morerecently and it was a very satisfying visit. It's open Tuesday-Saturday for lunch and dinner. Parking is on the street and is free for 2 hours which is plenty of time to dine here. It's nice inside and has a full bar. I ordered the Smokehouse Half Chicken platter for $18. It came with cole slaw, cornbread and one of their side dishes. I chose the Smokehouse Beans and it took about 10 minutes for the meal to arrive. While I waited I checked out the 4 sauces that were on the table and liked the KC mild the best. When the food arrived I noticed the large 1/2 chicken and the sides. The chicken was juicy and delicious with a smokey flavor. Paired with the KC mild sauce, it was yummy (4). Yes, their chicken is very good but it was the side dishes that really impressed me. The beans were rich in flavor and savory. Perfect (5). The cole slaw was creamy and smooth tasting making an excellent palate cleanser (5). The cornbread was soft and warm with that original cornmeal aroma (5). And finally, I ate the 2 pickle slices added on the plate. Fresh tasting with a firm texture and perfect flavor (5). The table service by Maxie was friendly and efficient. I wish I could have had one more meal here to test other menu items before giving this score. My experience has found that many bar b q restaurants prepare very good meats but it's their side dishes that make some of them stand out. The chicken was very good and I would order it again but the side dishes really impressed me. Even the pickles! For those reasons, I give Double B's a 5 score. This is as good as it gets.

They're lying to anyone who purchases their food, thinking it is smoked. IT IS NOT SMOKED. I can't believe they're operating a restaurant like this. To…read moreme, they do a lot of things right, but there are still a few "unforced errors" that keep this from being a truly great meal. Food: Once again, the star of the show was the brisket. It is just so very good. I ordered the Panzanella Salad topped with brisket. The salad itself was excellent, and the addition of the brisket made it an outstanding choice. Our table shared an order of the Texas Twinkies. They were delicious, but definitely on the spicy side. In fact, some of us were literally in tears! So, know what you're getting. The others ordered the Mac & Cheese with BBQ Chicken, the Sloppy Joe, and the Double Smashburger. Everyone enjoyed their meals, but no one was raving about them...except me and the brisket. I tried the Smashburger and found it a bit underwhelming. The beef didn't have much flavor, and there wasn't enough char to create those delicious lacy edges that make a smashburger special. The side of haystack onion rings was very good: hot, flavorful, and generously portioned. Service: Our server was polite, but not especially friendly. Even though there were very few people in the restaurant, there were a couple of times when I had to flag them down for things like more water or another drink. A couple of our drinks, including a Bourbon Old Fashioned and a Bloody Mary, were served with an elaborate smoked presentation using a wooden smoke box. It's an interesting idea, but it felt a bit over the top. Atmosphere: I like the feel of the dining room. It's small and full of character. Our table in the corner was a tight fit, but once we were seated, it was comfortable enough. Tip: Get the brisket!

Came here for dinner and unfortunately left pretty underwhelmed overall…read more The restaurant itself was clean, and service initially started off fine. When we first arrived, the restaurant was not busy. Only a couple other tables occupied, so expectations were fairly high for a smooth experience. Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill. The food took quite a while to come out despite how slow it was. When it finally did, it was first delivered to the wrong table before eventually making its way to us. The food runner then randomly grabbed a ranch from our table and brought it to another table. He seemed potentially new, but overall the service felt very disorganized and clueless, especially considering the restaurant wasn't busy. We ordered the cheese curds to start, and they were disappointing. The breading was mushy and extremely greasy, and the cheese itself tasted low quality rather than the fresh curds you'd expect at a Wisconsin pub. We also ordered several wing flavors since they were on special: garlic parm, buffalo, bourbon BBQ, and lemon pepper. One issue right away was the lack of flavor variety overall on the menu. The wings themselves were inconsistent. Sizes varied dramatically, which clearly affected the cook quality. Some were fried so hard they were like chewing leather, while others had soggy, undercooked skin. Flavor wise the buffalo were almost completely flavorless. The lemon pepper was extremely mild. The garlic parm was probably the best of the group, though still just average. The bourbon BBQ was rough. The sauce tasted like an overly sweet, overly salty cheap jarred glaze rather than an actual house-made BBQ sauce. My wife ordered the Mary Mac burger without a bun and was told extra lettuce leaves could be substituted to make it a lettuce wrap. Instead, it came out with just shredded lettuce. The burger itself was overcooked and lacking flavor. The fries were decent enough, but nothing memorable. Overall, this felt like a place with potential that just missed the mark on both execution and consistency during our visit.
