Great cut coupled w/some warm, genuine conversation and a cozy atmosphere at a reasonable price -- what more could one ask??

I walked up to this store this morning at 10:30AM as I mistook this place to be a plant shop given the beautiful display of flowers on in the storefront window. One of the self-identified stylists, an older white woman - perhaps the owner - prevented me from opening the door fully - she stopped me before I could do so, cracked the 1/4 of the way open, and asked "can I help you?" I hate to pull the black card out here, but I am a black male, and this felt awful. Is this how you'd treat a potential customer or someone who'd like to refer others to your business? Like a criminal? Like an intruder? This is absolutely not typical behavior when someone enters a place of business. How do I know that? Well, I've been entering businesses - salons included- my entire life, and this is the first time something like this has happened to me. I can't see how this can't be racism/discrimination. I wonder if she would have done the same to my white girlfriend had she shown up. I'll give the owners a chance to respond to this & explain to me how this was not discriminatory behavior, and/or if this is how ALL people are greeted, and if a satisfactory answer is provided, I'll gladly remove my review. read more

I accidentally arrived a half hour early for my appt., on a cold rainy day in March. When Linda, the owner, opened the door and I identified myself, she seemed miffed that I was early. I apologized and told her I had a lot going on and must confused it with another appointment. It was cold and damp outside but she said I could wait and read on the bench. The salon atmosphere was cozy with a fire burning. A dog was lying on the floor next to the bench and I said, "Hi poochie." Linda immediately scolded me by telling me that he was sleeping. (He wasn't.) During the cut she asked me politically-laced questions which felt uncomfortable. The cut was bad, but at least it will grow back and be erased by the next one. The salon is in Hampden, not Medfield. I don't know why it's listed that way on the yelp site. The location is so perfect. There was so much free parking available. I found that to be such an exciting asset. The salon was just cool. It was well decorated and quite fun. When I walked in, Linda the owner, came right up to me. She was very genuine and personable and made me feel like a valued customer instantly. She gave me an awesome cut and some fun tips about Hampden shops and restaurants. Linda is incredibly sweet and gave me a wonderful bob haircut! Most times when I get a haircut they cut it way too short or just don't do what I asked them to do, and I leave having paid 100+ dollars for a haircut I hate. My haircut cost $30 and it is perfect. Partway through, she asked if the length was good and I asked for another half inch to be taken off, and she actually did stick to the half inch! If you want a reasonably priced haircut by someone who is genuinely nice and also does exactly what you want, this is the place!! read more

This is honestly my first time getting my hair cut while long, so I was really worried about what to get done. However, I also have a very picky eye, so I'm particularly hard to please with haircuts. Linda still managed to knock it out of the park. Aside from being one of the nicest and most genuine people I've met in Hampden, she guided me through how I can make my hair work for me, and proceeded to make it look awesome! Following the recommendation of a friend, I went to "Just Your Style" for the first time ca 3 months ago. I was trying to grow out a short hair cut for nearly a year and needed some clean up for uneven and split ends. Linda, the owner, did that very well. Thus this week I decided to take the plunge and go back to a shorter hair cut. I had only a vague idea about the style, so I discussed this with Linda who then cut it into a layered bob which works excellent for my fine hair and adds lots of volume. BTW my college-age son had a haircut done by her male stylist 2 months ago and was very happy with it as well. read more

Homey, comfy and a great haircut. Linda's the owner and she did my shampoo and cut - an excellent deal at $20. She took real care and it looks great. Looks like she does a great job for men's cuts too, not sure on the price. Not a fancy salon, but why pay more for a haircut that's just as good? This was the perfect place to get my spring ready look! Just your Style is in a wonderful neighborhood and Linda, the owner, is fantastic! Dwayne cut my hair and he talked to me the whole time, making me feel very much at home. I allowed him to snip off nearly 6 inches of my hair and he was very nice about advice on how to take care of my now short hair and which hairstyles would suit me. They accept cash and check but not cards, and so I had to run over to the Bank of America ATM on 36th street to withdraw the fee. Linda is very trusting and a nice human being, and what made things better was that all this only cost me $20! I will go back for sure! read more

I originally came across Just Your Style on Yelp, and was easily able to schedule an appointment for the day after. Linda is such a sweetheart, and her dog is even more adorable. In addition to being a great hairstylist, Linda is also very knowledgable about the surrounding area (and just a fun person to talk to)! The prices are also very reasonable - I will be sure to come back if I ever need haircutting services. read more

I was recommended Just your style by my friend who loved getting her haircut here. What's funny is that I live 2 blocks away from this place and never noticed it. Probably because of its homely patio. Anyways, Linda (owner and hairstylist) cut my hair exactly how I wanted it. I am one of a kind of person who is very particular about his haircut and once he finds a place he likes sticks to it! As if now JUST YOUR STYLE seems like JUST MY STYLE. :) I would say give this place a try and you will not regret it. read more

Best hair stylist ever! Linda is the owner and extremely kind and genuine. My mom and I have been seeing her for years. She does amazing highlights, she takes the time to weave through layers of your hair to add the highlight to pieces she previously highlighted, for a very natural look. Her prices are AMAZING! I spend less than $100 to get a full head of highlights (I have thick hair) and wash and cut. Not only is she a sweetheart, but she has an adorable rescue pitbull that sits quietly in the corner as she works. By far the best place to get your hair done!!! read more

There is a serious lack of information on this salon. They need to post their true hours somewhere. I saw on locality that they are supposedly open at 9am most days, including Tuesday's, so I came on a Tuesday at 10:30am and there was no one there. It was a 20 min walk over there.
