But the gentleman that I spoke with was kind enough to spend about 15 minutes of his time telling me about his experience with monitors and what to look for. Macbook Pro 2017 Screen Repair My computer screen cracked underneath the glass, resulting in blacked out sections and a lag. I went to visit Justin & Eric as my laptop became unusable. I originally have been dealing with Apple for months and they were not able to find out what was wrong with my computer. They wanted me to pay a "tier" of $495 and to replace my track pad it would cost $200. As I was leaving Apple, I looked up computer repair shops on Yelp and found this spot. I called and spoke with Justin. He said I could come in and get a free quote to see what was wrong with my computer. I left it and within the hour he called me back and said that he could replace my trackpad for $55 (not including labor) and it would be ready before they closed. I asked what if it wasn't the trackpad and they put it on? He let me know that he would take it off and that I would not be charged. Luckily it was the trackpad! I am here on an emergency family medical trip. Eric was able to take my computer that seemed to have crashed in right away. My regular guy in my hometown was not able to diagnosis and help unless I brought in the computer. Eric quickly got my computer up and running, ran a diagnosis on my hard drive, let me sit in their office and quickly check emails that I haven't had access to and did so with complete professionalism. After receiving the part they replaced it while I waited. This is one of the rare occurrences where I didn't really experience an "actual" food/service that I gave a 5-Star reviews because they didn't have to, but cared enough to provide an alternative - THAT is service! My Samsung S8+ charging port mulfuctioned recently, and needed some repairs so my cellphone wouldn't complain "plug in the charger" even though it IS plugged into an electrical wall outlet. I remember the phone repairs shop next to Sunnyvale Costco, so I went on Yelp, and from there, it appeared that they no longer serve customers on a drop-in basis, you need to arrange ahead of time by answering some form questionnaire; while filling in, the app asked if you're also interested in having these distributed to other potential repair shops nearby. Most just returned with a Yelp message, "we don't do cellphone", not Justin & Eric Computer Repairs! Even though they too only do computers & no cellphone, they were kind enough to send me a link to one that does near Camden/Bascom area. So, I'm sure if they do decide to provide cellphone repairs, they'd do an amazing job! read more

My Acer laptop was running extremely slow especially accessing the internet and all my Win10 applications. Eric made on phone diagnosis that the HD was most likely at fault. I dropped off the machine for in house test. I was quoted a fair price for replacement of the HD and cloning the drive contents onto a 1 TB SSD. They walked me through the tests they were running as they were running them as well as explained how the various components of my PC worked (im fairly new to PC building so it was very helpful to get some expert troubleshooting tips) and my PC was up and running 10 min after I set it on their counter. Last Tuesday, I was using my mid-2012 MacBook Pro (a computer that has never once caused me any major issues) when Chrome crashed. Having experienced this before, I decided to reset my computer knowing it would solve that problem. Well, when it was time for me log back in after the reset, the progress bar kept stopping about 1/3 of the way and then my MacBook would shut-off. I panicked and no amount of restarting, re-typing my password, trying to repair the disk using the disk utility, etc. would work. I took it to the Apple store the next day and, surprise surprise, the "geniuses" couldn't fix it and said I probably needed to do a complete OS reinstall, meaning my hard drive would get wiped, and that it was going to cost $600-$700 just to fix it. To make matters worse, the external hard-drive I had done all my time machine backups on had broken just a few weeks prior, so I was staring at the possibility of losing my entire life of writing, photos, music, etc.. I was crushed. When I told that to the Apple store people, they said there was nothing they could do to save my data. Then they started selling me on a new MacBook!! Thankfully, my sister referred me over to Justin and Eric, who have been doing IT work for her, and after speaking with Justin on the phone for a few minutes, he made it seem like this was a very fixable issue. Justin got back to me the morning after I brought the MacBook in and said my OS was indeed corrupted, but it didn't mean I had to lose all my files. All he would have to do was reinstall my OS then do a data transfer of my files back onto the computer. The best part was that setting up the new OS on my computer would not mean I would lose all of my settings, etc.--so it's basically as if nothing ever happened to my laptop. Justin also saw the tattered charger I brought in with the laptop (I've had the same one since 2012!) and said he could get me a refurbished charger for only $40. He also said he could get me a good deal on a new external HD (1TB), meaning I could do a time machine backup right when I got home and be protected once again. I took him up on both offers. In total, Justin and Eric charged me $270 for the OS install, data transfer, new charger and external hard drive, and it only took them a few days to finish everything. They are, without a doubt, the best computer repairmen I have ever come across and I will definitely use them again in the future, if need be. If you have a Mac that is no longer under Apple protection, you would be foolish to take it to the Apple store instead of Justin and Eric. read more

So I had my computer dropped off at different computer service place on Almaden on Saturday morning and they couldn't figure out and I had to keep calling and checking up on them. I called on Monday and they did not figured out or even touched my computer. So, I called and asked to pick up my computer so I can either return or take it to somewhere else. They told me we're closing in 30min so I don't think you should come and I was like wtffff I can be there in 5min!! Because I was already annoyed by them keep telling me I'll call you tomorrow or we will figure out by tomo BS!!! When I got there I realized they didn't even touch my computer and gave me bullshit saying they're busy and kept lying to me. So I picked up my computer and called Eric at 6:50PM and figured he can take a look at them next day or so but he stayed late and figured out the problems and fixed them!! I highly recommend Justin and Eric's Computer repair. Justin and Eric are both super friendly and helpful in fully explaining issues and options. My old Gateway desktop kept freezing after a power failure. I requested some quotes from other shops to fix it and they ranged from "too old, buy a new one", to an OS reinstall for $169, to a $149 just to do a diagnoses. Justin responded that it was likely the hard drive and went further to point out that my processor is a 6 core and a good one and if that was the only issue, the computer was worth keeping. They offer a completely free full diagnostic and he said to bring it in and then we could decide what to do afterwards. Being an IT person myself, I never thought I would need help with building a computer. After building a new gaming computer for my son, it didn't work. I tore it apart and rebuilt and still no luck. I took it to Eric, and he found it was a bad motherboard socket (brand new). After getting the new one, they built my computer and set everything up so my son could play his games! I got it home and after 10+ hours I still could not connect to the internet. I finally emailed them on a Saturday, and an hour later I realized my own router was the problem. I reset it to factory settings, and got it working. Justin emailed me back telling me what the problem probably was, and he was correct! I should have asked him earlier. I brought in a new custom computer build (not related to Justin and Eric, a home built system) that had some a cpu error led on the motherboard hoping for some help to diagnose and fix the problem. Eric and his team did a fantastic job in a few hours not only finding the problem (likely some extra paste in the cpu socket)but also cleaned up all the cabling very neatly, installed Windows 10 and updated various drivers, reseated the motherboard and cpu heatsink better, and even some basic software they knew my eight year old son would use for gaming (Steam and Discord). All at incredibly good rate, very friendly and also detailed. Very impressed, expect will go back to them in future for any computer needs or other services they provide. read more
