I really like this dentist, because I feel listened to and the dentist is really smart. I had no…read moreidea I was a clencher. I mentioned a concern with a crown and gum recession. I asked if it was a bad quality crown, because the metal was showing under the porcelain. He explained not entirely the case. He said that part of the reason for gum recession on a back molar was because I was clenching. The process of clenching creates a wobble motion on your tooth and makes gums recede. This is my analogy: think of a post in the ground. You push and pull it back and forth and the dirt recedes. My last dentist just said it was because the gums don't like the material and recede. Long story short, he recommended a mouth guard for almost a year now and the pockets of recession continue to improve. 4s became 3s. 3s became 2s. Sometimes my dentist can run behind, but if you need to get somewhere and you tell them, they will do everything they can to get you out on time. This was the case last year when I had to run for kindergarten lunch with my child at his school. Honestly I would rather he take the time to educate and make me a bit late than just treat me as business as usual or a check box. My previous dentist was time efficient but never offered the same level of care. The previous dentist at a different practice just wanted to do the cleaning and send me on my way. My overall dental health has greatly improved here. There is data to prove it. Highly recommend.

We had started coming in 2020 and were initially impressed with the thoroughness of the exam and kindness of the clinical staff. The dental hygienist was especially kind and helpful in explaining everything she was doing or recommending. That said, the end of the visit was off-putting. After the cleaning, x-rays, and exam, they ushered me into a room to discuss recommended treatments and payment. My husband was recommended veneers and other dental work to total over $11,000 after insurance. We declined most of what they recommended with the exception of the root canal. Looking back, we should have gone to an endodontist for his root canal, but Dr. Walia represented that she could complete it in the office. I drove my husband to the appointment, which ended up taking 4.5 hours after they initially told me 2. I took him home with a temporary crown, which fell off shortly after arriving home despite following the strict instructions to not introduce solids for a few hours. Upon going to a new dental practice, we were informed that the initial root canal was improperly done and needed further evaluation by an endodontist. Our last visit to this practice was in 2022 after we had an incident with billing and noticed the high turnover of staff at this location. In 2023, I received a bill from the practice despite not receiving care for almost one year. The bill was from 2021. I called the office who informed me that they had "forgotten" to submit to insurance and had attempted to file with the insurance carrier we had provided (United) in 2022. I informed them that the care I was being billed for occurred in 2021 and we had a different insurer at that time (Cigna), so United would likely deny the claim. The office staff attempted to tell me I'd need to still pay the bill or it would be sent to collections despite the care being performed 2 years prior and not going through the proper channels of filing with insurance. I had paid the coinsurance amounts due at the time of service and had receipts proving this information. They finally dropped the billing, but it definitely left a sour taste in my mouth and frankly, felt fraudulent. We will not come back to this office due to the lack of organization and poorly done root canal. I strongly feel that we should have been referred to an endodontist for this procedure, but am concerned this was not done in order to generate more money for the practice. I would caution others from receiving care here.

In the kids section is ok because you will be there 100% of times to consent or not. But once they move your kid to the the adult side, then a whole other story, they want to do the same, even if no parent is presenting to consent. She is only 16, so instead of working with you to add a note to her file not to allow additional devices unless there is a parent consent, they want to threaten you with canceling the appointments and not providing the basic/ intended service.

I was told that my insurance was "accepted" before going in when what I really needed to know was if my insurance was "in network" so thinking that I was in network I took my daughter in for her cleaning. After my daughter was called back and sitting in the chair in the pediatrician side, the lady came to tell me I would owe them $260 for the cleaning since I'm out of network with them. This caught me off guard, but with my daughter already sitting ready for the cleaning I decided to go with it anyway. It's upsetting that they used this technique to trap you in. Make sure you ask if you're "in network" or check with your insurance yourself first before heading out to them. Also I would recommend a second opinion outside of them before doing any major procedures or better yet, just go elsewhere. I was told my daughter had 3 cavities to fill, but when I took her into a different office I was told she only had one cavity. They also had us do a free orthodontists consultation in which they pushed for us to get started on for my daughter who was 11 at the time but when I took her to another trusted orthodontist, he suggested for me to wait at least another 2 years. Be weary, ask the right questions or just go elsewhere to save time and money.

But then, cue the choir of angels, I heard it: "If this is an emergency, please call our 24-hour number." You better believe I jotted that down faster than I've ever written anything in my life. Within minutes, I was communicating with the wonderful Jen, who was calm, professional, and had the kind of "we got you" energy you want in a dental emergency. She passed my info to the dental techs, and before I could even finish saying "thank you," I was told to head to the office... on a freaking Saturday! I pulled into the empty parking lot like I was in a spy movie and saw another car pull in right behind me. It was Ana, the absolute legend of a dental tech who had come in just for me. She let me in, set everything up, and within minutes I was in the chair in a pristine, freshly prepped room that smelled like victory... and disinfectant. Ana was not only skilled but kind, funny, and reassuring. She explained every step, made sure I was pain-free, and treated me with the kind of care and attention that you'd hope for even on the busiest weekday, except this was her day off, which made it all the more incredible. In 30 minutes, I walked out with a brand-new temporary crown, pain-free and genuinely smiling (not just because I got my bite back, but because I felt so taken care of). Break to smile - less than two hours! This office is a unicorn in the world of dentistry... professional, responsive, compassionate, and just the right amount of cool. Half the things mentioned here are lies. 1) No one can advance notice of 24 hours if someone catch a cold. 2) These guys didnt even complete the replacement procedure with permanent crown and rused in charging late fee, so cheap. 3) These guys asked me to pay full amount ($740) on May 13th itself when they installed temporary crown. In the below email its a lie they only quoted half the amount. Mistake is on our side for one appointment where i showed in a wrong time, however all the other times there is a genuine reason. Policies should accomodate and be courtious, but not to rip-off customers like this. If doctor is waiting in the room and you dont step in be careful, they might add a late fee for that even such a joke. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Detalied email northlake sent to us : Please see attached documents from your visits related to crown #30. I am including the pre-D, your patient ledger, and the statements from your 2 visits. The pre-D lists a total patient portion of $740. On the date of service, May 13, 2025, half was due ($370). You did not bring your credit card to that appointment, but we told you we could send a payment request that was due at the end of the day by 5pm. That was not paid, so we added a $25 late fee. Your husband came in on May 27th and paid the original $370, but not the fee. On June 4th, there was a missed appointment because you thought your appointment was at 4pm. We charged a $50 fee for that day because it was the third time for a missed appointment. We waived the first 2 fees for you on May 5th and May 27th. Your final appointment was on June 9th. On that day, you paid the other half of the crown ($370), plus the late payment fee ($25), plus the missed appointment fee. ($50). Total on June 9th is $445. Our policy is to notify us at least 24hrs in advance if you need to reschedule. For Monday appointments, the cutoff is 12pm on Friday. You can call us, leave a voicemail, or send us a text. Any time we do not have 24hr notice in one of those ways, there will be a $50 fee added to that appointment. If you have any questions, please feel free to call 469-307-5093.
