A first time experience (on a Monday night) allowed me to have mixed feelings about Zizi Wine Bar based on my expectations. Fairly new to the area (almost a year), Zizi Wine Bar seems to be a good addition to Fidi. We were warmly greeted by the staff upon our arrival which was around 6:30. It was obviously quieter than it would be if it were later in the week. The space was a bit small with tables in the front half while the back section included sofa seating for a more casual setting. We chose to sit at a high top round table as we got settled. I felt the seating wasn't too comfortable and the lighting was a bit bright considering it was a wine bar. Our server was hospitable and knowledgeable offering opinions of the various wines. I was offered a tiny tasting of two red wines and ultimately went for the smooth Pinot Noir. Since it's a Wine Bar, there was a good variety of wines including flights. Two of my friends enjoyed the flight from the Middle East while another bragged about the Rose. As far as food, I believe Zizi Wine Bar's selections are meant to be shared, including the larger plates. The portions are very small so if you're hungry, you'll need to select many plates especially if there's more than 2 in the party. We selected three appetizers: Crazy Baba (an eggplant pesto dip accompanied by pita), Halloumi, and Oyster Mushroom. All were pretty good. The larger mains are by no means a full meal or dinner. All of our selections were served solo without sides. I chose the Chicken Skewer --3 pieces of white meat chicken on a skewer flavored very nicely. The other selections were Branzino, Chicken Shawarma and the Lamb pita. Overall, my friends and I were satisfied with our first time experience at Zizi. The menu selections were tapas style meant for sharing. I think Zizi has 3 locations of which one is an actual restaurant. I can see Zizi being a good spot for a pre dinner drink before dining elsewhere or grabbing a few appetizers with wine. Remember to order enough if a large, hungry group since the portions are small. I think I'd return but wouldn't rush back.

Ziz's Wine Bar has a fantastic happy hour. I met up with a friend after work and we shared a cheeseboard and hummus with pita--the pita bread was some of the best I've ever had. They also have a really nice wine selection!

Stumbled across this place after a far too long travel day, and what a lovely dinner we found. Food - whioe delicious, this is where we lose a star. The eggplant was out of this world insanely delicious. I will dream of this dish for a long time coming. The other dishes again we're good just nothing to "write home about". The cauliflower was ok, but just kind of limp, and the shawarma was very standard. The wine though ... Dang. Some true all star wines here. I don't know that any of them would be bad but the Israeli wines were fantastic. Service - quick and attractive. Very friendly and knowledgeable waitresses. Ambiance - Dim and intimate while being inviting. Tl;Dr - I'd love to come back for a glass of wine or three and maybe a snack.

We enjoyed ZiZi overall but it was so cold inside! Once they fix that this will be a definite 5 star place. Great deals on happy hour, lovely food and nice intimate atmosphere. One staff person on duty and she was very on top of everything so kudos to her.

Solid spot to grab a glass or bottle of wine and light bites. There's another location in midtown but finally tried this one. Shared a bottle of wine after choosing between the Or Haganuz and Apla. We enjoyed the Cabernet Sauvignon more than the Xinomavro blend. Also ordered the Grilled Halloumi (basically just grilled cheese but the basil pesto added a nice touch to it) and the Jerusalem Bagel (a mix between a pretzel and bagel with a side of olive oil) to share. We sat in the back which was way quieter than the front, but the front was more lively and intimate. The staff was very helpful in choosing which wine to pick and always checked on us. We did miss the happy hour since it ended at 6pm but was still enjoyable otherwise. Recommend as a place to grab a glass of wine or as a date spot.

Not sure what was better the amazing food or the SPECTACULAR SERVICE from Taylor. Both were 10 out of 10.

Great wine selection and a solid happy hour until 6 every day! Servers are very friendly and knowledgeable. The place has an amazing look to it and feels like a high class but affordable wine bar when you walk in. I got the baked Brie this time which was amazing, and they actually give the right amount of bread to go with the amount of cheese that is given.

I am SO glad we did. The vibe drew us in, they had great music bumpin from the outside, it looked lively and welcoming. Let me tell you- I would have skipped dinner and just stayed here all evening if it was my choice! But alas, my husband wanted a bit more to eat. But let me tell you- their knowledge of wine is PRISTINE! I can't tell you what white wine we had but they captured our tastes perfectly. We also shared a bruschetta and it was deliciouso! I love how friendly the staff was here and how unpretentious it all was. Next time we are in NYC- we will definitely make a point to come visit Rake!

First I'll start with the wine - we ended up trying all three happy hour wines (HH until 7), which the tables favorites were the white and we ended up getting a bottle to split once HH ended (but I really enjoyed the other vino verde option). It was incredibly refreshing and paired well with the many tinned fish options. As you'd expect - it's a pretty massive selection and there is bound to be a varietal and glass for any palate. It's also attached to a wine store - so it's fine to see all the bottles when peaking over. Food-wise - this is where it was hit or miss, they have a pretty extensive menu (with a whole tinned fish section!) and we ended up ordering the buratta on focaccia (buratta was excellent, focaccia was too dense for my tastes), mushroom truffle crostini (way too salty), the flatbread with sliced kielbasa (was fine), halloume (table favorite ), tinned sardines in lemon oil (delicious), tinned smoked trout (my favorite). Overall the four of us were very full at the end of the meal! The space itself felt very relaxing and rustic, and definitely got busier as the night went on (we got there at 6:50 and left around 9). The service was also fast and attentive - even for the amount of tables they were serving. Overall - I'd definitely go back again, and maybe just focus on the wine and another tinned fish selection!

Thank you to my lovely friend who spent who knows how long trying to get a reservation here. Chilled celtuce (4/5): is it a combination of celery and lettuce? idk but it kinda reminded me of radish, with a clean/slightly bland flavor but it had this hydrating quality to it and a nice crunch. Sesame shao bing (5/5): a literal drug in the most innocuous and tasty form of flatbread. It has the crispiest flake on the outside with a perfectly chewy doughiness to it and a literal slab of butter inside, which melts in real time (careful not to go too ham and let it dribble down your arms and get all over your clothes...because it's just THAT good). Sweet & sour short rib (4/5): the cook on these short ribs were super tender, I just think the marinade was very strong, with a particularly vinegary aroma. Eight treasure rice pudding with sticky toffee (4/5): she's a 4 only because I don't like toffee, but the rice pudding was hands down heavenly. Service was solid, and they have a chic, dim ambience for the tables inside whereas the outdoor seating sits underneath the lanterns and soaks up the streets of Chinatown, so each have a merit of its own.

Walked in at 8pm on a Wednesday and was able to sit right away for a limited time (1.5hrs), which was plenty for us. It's small, as most places in NYC are, and dark & intimate. They also have shared tables, so we sat with another couple. Huge wine selection. Everything we ate was delicious. To me, the Celtuce is more of a novelty - cool, yummy, fresh but small. The crudo was the same thing. So in my opinion, I don't think it's worth the money. The noodles were so good we got 2 orders of it - you cannot skip!! The dessert was also unlike anything I've had before. If you love sticky rice and caramel/toffee, you have to try it. Overall, I do think it was very expensive but the ambiance + some of the dishes were well worth it. I'd definitely come back.
