I use to absolutely love the chicken shawarma. I've been coming here since this place first opened up and truly loved it. Unfortunately, past few times I've been disappointed. I went today, first the bread was burnt and hard, it use to be fresh and fluffy. I hardly got any chicken, only dried up burnt pieces. I politely asked for the bread to be replaced and they gave me less pieces. And the portion size is much smaller now. Unfortunately, i am disappointed, probably won't come back for the food. ZiZi Wine Bar is one of those rare places that makes you feel like you're on vacation without leaving New York. The vibe? Chic but not pretentious. The teal walls and glowing wine bottles make it look like someone with taste and a passport designed the space. The food is outstanding. The cauliflower was smoky and rich, the hummus was silky enough to qualify as skincare, and the lamb... let's just say it didn't last long. Nice cozy interior all of the feel of a bistro wine bar in the casbah! Service wise they really couldn't be bothered. Brought out dirty wine glass didn't keep water filled and disappeared and sat down and ate at the bar while we were still waiting on food and help. Salad was good had zaatar flavored croutons, feta ridichio lettuce and great dressing. The wine was so so and the toasted Brie w jam was a base hit too. This is a cute little spot. We were walking down the street after finishing shopping in the Soho area and saw this and wanted to have a glass of wine. The staff was very nice. We walked in and they greeted us and we got seated right away. The place was really small but cute. I like all the lights were dimmed and it was just a perfect relaxing place to catch up and have a glass of wine. The wine selection was a little limited. I would say to up their wine list when it came to rosé or Sauvignon Blanc. Other than that, I would go again cause I did like the vibe in there. read more

Very surprised at how good the music is here. Like this whole place is a vibe. I kept trying to Shazam every song and even asked if they could replay a track that was soothing to the ears. Wonderful service indeed! The wine itself is good quality. I liked that they had specially marked zizi wine glasses to make your experience memorable. Zizi is lowkey and is full of opportunities to take good photos, especially with their organized wall of wine. Vanessa took care of us, and as other yelp reviewers said, she is so welcoming, warm and professional. Vanessa did a great job! Don't sleep on the brunch and happy hour specials (4pm everyday but Sunday, $9 drinks and 15% off menu items) We came for brunch and took advantage of the $20 90 minute bottomless mimosas. We have had mimosas around the neighborhood and some places are hit or miss but at Zizi the ratio of orange juice to prosecco was just perfect! We started with the hummus and pita which was delicious. Nice warm pita and tasty hummus From the brunch menu, we had the boreka which came with a soft boiled egg, tahini, pickled peppers and a tomato garlic compote. When Zizi first opened a few years ago I wrote a review and have gone there since about every 6 weeks because I love the hummus. The wine is just so so. I am writing this second review because I want to alert patrons to be on alert when they pay by credit card. The first time it happened I thought it was just the bartender, but after several incidents I realize it must be a house policy. They automatically add a 20% tip to your payment when they hand you the machine to pay. You need to pay attention and change it to whatever you deem an appropriate tip. I'm not sure, but I think this kind of trickery is probably illegal. read more

It's a nicely done bar with some upstairs seating and bathroom in the basement. I had a glass of wine and shared some small plates. From what I recall, wines by the glass were about $12-$16. Decent prices. They have red wines from Spain, Turkey, Morocco, Greece. The small plates range from about $10-$18. We had the crazy baba, salmon skewer and lamb chops to start. Then had the overnight lamb. The lamb chops need to be eaten right when they are served, which we failed to do. Our waiter acknowledged that he should have told us that. They were okay, probably my least favorite. The overnight lamb was the better lamb dish. This was served like a pizza. The baba ganoush was my favorite! It was a bit spicy and very garlicky. Our waiter/bartender was helpful and attentive while we were there. He helped us with our food and wine choices. We were going to order the tuna sashimi but he said the salmon was better. read more
