My 5-star review from 6+ years ago still stands. Jutta's selection of gorgeous flowers is unparalleled. She can do whatever you need within your budget and you'll be blown away. Today (mid-Dec 2024) 2 children came in and said "Dad gave us $20 to get a nice bouquet here." Jutta went straight to work. When the kids left, they had pocket change from their $20 and a very sweet, unique bouquet, wrapped with elegant ribbon. As for me: I was there for ribbon. Had just picked up a book (gift) from the fantasy bookstore 2 doors down. They offered gift wrap which I took, then regretted bc it was on the cheesy side (but "the price was right"). I knew Jutta would have a beautiful, unique ribbon to make this gift packaging right. And sure enough, she did. And it being December, she added a a little sprig of greenery to dress it up further. That's the kind of special touch you receive at Jutta's if you manage to be patient while she delivers extraordinary service to the customers ahead of you. For those who have never been here: enter this shop and immediately hit the Pause button. Sloooow down and enjoy the experience. Jutta has been in this location for over thirty years. She, her store, are treasured features in this neighborhood. When I am there I watch her regular customers pick up flowers, they chat, and laugh. Some bring a treat. Or even lunch. The little shop is different than all the others I have bought flowers and gifts from. Jutta carries German items. Cards, candles, beautiful paper napkins. I just bought a felt owl there. And recently some roses called Free Spirit. The selection of flowers varies. They are delivered Wednesdays and Fridays. I hope her store will flourish again. The last two years have been hard. Love this place! I want to buy a special thank you gift for someone in Berkley. The gentleman on the phone tells me they have raku pots and orchids, awesome! I googled raku pot, so many different looks / styles. I asked him what they look like, he says they have cracks and that he can't tell me anything else. When I asked for a photo he says "we are not set up for that". I said "what?" Clerk: "we are not set up for that" Me: "can you take a picture of your favorite one and send it to me?" Clerk: "no, we do not that" Me: "seriously? Jutta's is a Flower Shop and more. The space winds around a bit and is sprinkled with all sorts of interesting gifts from around the world. The Flower arrangements look gorgeous and it was a joy to watch Jutta in action. A serene Coda to this space is a pretty garden/patio space in back. My only concern was her assistant who I felt was hovering a bit too much. It's the kind of behaviour that made me feel that I was being profiled as a shoplifter. This last arrangement was for Valentine's Day and although roses are traditional and beautiful, these were much more beautiful and admired. I have been visiting Jutta and Todd for over a year now. My original visit was to check out the some of their flowers but I ended up staying in their "treasure" room during most of my visits. The store has a welcoming-home feel which is reinforced by the professionalism and friendliness both Jutta and Todd exude. Both Jutta and Todd provide an artful craftsmanship in their creations. I have been lucky enough to witness how much care and insight goes into the creation of their arrangements. This year, I needed several arrangements done for my Grandparents 50th Wedding anniversary. Without a question, I knew who I could trust with such an event. We needed 12 arrangements, one for each table and a head table arrangement. Jutta and Todd executed on our order to perfection and quite hastily. The end result was absolutely stunning to the point that during the wedding reception a few guests were arguing about who could take the table arrangements home. I was supposed to receive a basket of flowers from my in-laws via Jutta's. I live in a condo which only requires a 4 digit pin to get in, or a simple callbox (as do all gated condo complexes). For some reason they decided not to deliver to my building because "it requires driving around and looking for the unit". bought a bunch of lilac's this afternoon, was told they would last up to a week if cared for. couple hours later they were completely droopy, leaves curling. the worst part when i called to kindly inquire i was told i must have done something wrong. i explained that i followed their instructions exactly: went straight home, no more than 20 minute drive-trimmed and cut as directed, added packet, placed on table away from sunlight. their response was "no one else has complained"- and was hung up on. thought spending more would mean quality and customer service, not disrespect and blame. definitely not going back. would not recommend this shop. read more
