Feb 14 is the anniversary of my daughter's bike accident and it has been a long journey of recovery that continues. It is always a hard day for her. This was my first time purchasing flowers from Myrna. I saw photos of some of her arrangements online and loved how unique and varied they were. When I called and she asked me what I wanted, I said, "something that exudes joy". The arrangement was stunning! My daughter said it was the best bouquet she has ever received. Love this flower shop. She usually has unusual flowers that make a bouquet special and Al ways makes my wife smile. The flowers are consistently fresh and bouquets seem to evolve after I get them home as new buds bloom. See picture of what I bought for $75 a week ago. I'm sad I haven't written a review until now! We have been going to Myrna for YEARS. I don't know exactly how many...I do remember 8th grade graduation for the daughter being one occasion, and that was 8 years ago. But there have been many, many, many flower arrangements we've gone to Myrna for, and never been disappointed. Most recently I was on College Ave and spied the flower shop over across from Safeway and almost went there since it was convenient, then thought - wait - I want to give business to own neighborhood florist who's been there for us for all these years. So I pulled in on Saturday, July 17, 2021 around 11am and asked for an arrangement to take as a hostess gift for a get-together where I knew others would bring homemade food but I currently have no kitchen, so could not do so. I originally thought it would be pretty to have all white flowers...no vase...just a big bunch. But I left with a beautiful colorful arrangement in a low vase after walking through the shop with Myrna and looking at flowers and options. And it is gorgeous (see photo). She said it would take around 15 minutes, so doggy and I wandered the village, then came back and yep, she was putting the finishing touches on. Actually, there was time for me to add a couple of cool flowers I had spied in the shop in a different color, so she added those with no problem. Myrna is friendly and direct, gives ideas when you ask but also works with your ideas even if they're maybe not the most design-savvy LOL. She'll ask for your budget and then doesn't have a problem staying within it. Don't hesitate to go to her! read more

I've been going to Myrna for 20 years to buy a nice bouquet or centerpiece for a party. When it was time to get married I knew she would be who I would use. Myrna was excellent-- I showed her a photo of my flower "inspiration " for the wedding and she took it from there. She was so easy to work with and I had all the confidence everything would turn out lovely. That's an understatement! The church ceremony and the reception flowers and centerpieces were stunning. I DIYed my entire wedding except my bouquet and wedding party/parents' flowers. WOW. I went in mega frazzled the week before begging Myrna to take me on as a client and she killed! Pin is incredible. She did the flowers for my wedding in August 2023 and I was blown away by the beautiful arrangements she did. I got 3 bouquets, a bunch of table centerpieces, boutonnieres, flower crowns, 2 large displays for our ceremony and flowers for the cake. I only gave her some color direction and a few inspo photos and she created the most elegant florals! I also feel that her pricing is really reasonable. I love her flowers and arrangements. And they always last so long!! Longer than any other florist I've been to. I asked for a statement arrangement to fill a wall for the Holidays and last all December, and this is what she created! And there are olive branches, with olives on them. So beautiful. I've probably had Myrna make more than 10 arrangements for me to give as gifts since I've started coming here about 2 years ago. I usually pick 2-3 of the unique flowers she has, tell her what the arrangement is for, and then let her do the rest. I've always been impressed by her selection of flowers and her skill as a florist. Creative, unique in both what she carries and how she put it together. I needed a bouquet of flowers for a photo shoot and was scrambling to find a florist that morning after my original plan fell through. I arrived and Myrna was super sweet and was able to put together a bouquet that exceeded my expectations! It is a little more expensive but I normally like spending the extra money for a beautiful and a nicely put together (she definitely made sure the bouquet wouldn't fall apart in the car or when you're holding it!) bouquet anyways! We initially didn't know there was free parking in a nearby parking structure until our friends told us, but luckily we found free street parking around the area for two hours. First impression walking in was how clean the whole place felt. I also liked that there were so many different vendors and cuisines for us all to choose from. Whether you're craving Korean Food, Japanese Food, Peruvian Food, American BBQ, Burgers, or pretty much anything else, you'll probably find something here. Honestly, a lot of the vendors caught my attention because what they offered looked really good. We also spotted a cashew based ice cream shop, which was perfect for dessert after our meal. I also liked how everything was indoors too, especially since it keeps people sheltered from the weather on hot days. Another thing I appreciated was the amount of tables and seating made available. It didn't feel stressful trying to find a place to sit, and we were here on a Sunday. As we walked through the market, I thought the layout was designed really well. The way everything was set up made the place feel a lot bigger and more spacious than it actually was. I thought that was pretty smart. I'd definitely come back to this public market again next time I'm in the area.

Scores were pretty low across the board. It was a constant struggle to hear anything the host was saying, largely because he insisted on wearing a mask. He also had a somewhat curt, unfriendly demeanor. Brainstormer was probably the best a decade ago, but something seems to have gone wrong with them along the way. Whoever's in charge of events should consider switching to Head Games, Geeks Who Drink, Live Event, or Pub Trivia Nerds.
