It was my first time going to Juut Salon Spa and I was welcomed as a walk-in appointment for a curly haircut with Jessica, an amazing curly hair specialist. She spent an hour with me, shampooing, cutting, adding Aveda products, and styling my hair. She showed me to cast and create well defined curls with an amazing Bounce Curl brush from Amazon. My hair looked amazing when she was finished. At the end she recapped what she did and it was exactly what I had requested, a haircut that would enhance my curls, compliment the shape of my face, and be easy to style on a daily basis. Even though I would not spend the time on a daily basis to create well defined curls like she showed me, I did learn some new tricks to style my hair for special occasions or for when I simply have extra time. And she definitely gave me a cut that I can style my own way day to day. I would definitely return to see Jessica for another haircut whenever I am in search of a well deserved curly do. read more

I would give -5 stars if i could. I booked an online appointment that said it was 90 minutes for the coloring I get there and she says she has another appointment in 30 minutes so she can't do it but I can sit and wait for another hour to get my haircut which I also booked with the coloring, assuming they would be in success, succession, and work together. I drove all the way here and they did nothing to try and fit me in or switch their scheduling around. This business is trash. read more

The stylist told my daughter that bang trims would be free. When we went in, they charged us $25 to trim her beings. When I questioned the charge (in a text. They indicated $15 for the bang trim) they told me they just changed their policy the day before to charge customers, if the stylist didn't inform the front desk. We have been visiting JUUT since long before the pandemic. Obviously it's changed quite a bit. We will no longer attend their establishment. Changing a policy the day before, and not willing to talk to us or negotiate seemed particularly unkind. And we started going there because they advertise that they were a kinder place. This used to be my go to place. However in the last year or so I have been disappointed with their service. 1) Last year I encountered a color stylist who was 20 min late to the appointment because she had stacked her plate a little too tight, despite being told I had to leave on time. Then she had an attitude and did a mediocre job. 2) Today I had an appointment, the stylist was professional and good and asked me if I wanted a shine ? I agreed to it but she never mentioned that was an additional 60 dollars. So when I went to pay I was shocked to hear it. These are dark practices that the salon needs to stop doing. Have you ever been gaslit by a company? This is exactly what happened to me at this salon in the worst possible way. It was done by trying to tell me I wasn't seeing what I could see staring back at me in the mirror! Before I ever sat down with the person doing my color I mentioned to her al the problems I had with the color the first time she did it. I told her she missed places where no color was applied and in other areas my hair was orange! I should have waked out of this salon at that point when she started blaming me for something I must be doing because she used the same formula as I have always had. But unfortunately I really needed the service and threw my common sense out the window. Of course it happened again and this time she said it was my hair's fault! The manager than gave me a call and asked me not to come back?! Wow, like I would ever come back to a salon who didn't take responsibility for really bad hair color. She also said it was my hair's fault. All I can say is that with all the really good salon's in our area, it's really easy to find a good one. read more

New to town. Booked to see Julia, who didn't listen to a word I said! She decided to do her own spin on the platinum blonde I've had for year, haha. It turned out golden which is fine if I wanted golden, but I did not. I wanted a root touch up for platinum all over with foils . I had an appt for a cut with someone else, katie who was very kind and saw the color was totally wrong so she helped me talk with the manager to have a new appt the next day with a different hair person to correct what julia did. Honestly it was an expensive ($540) day that took from 9AM to 2:30PM and now I'm back in the salon today waiting for the color correction from one of their own stylists. I'm not really sure the best way to find a hair salon that's competent these days beyond sheer luck. Sigh!!!!!!! Here's to hoping the hair is fine and not ultra messed up again. Thank you however for the "free" fixing. I'm terrified I'll feel bad and offer to tip the new lady fixing the hair, but honestly don't feel very generous at the moment. The atmosphere of the salon would be the best thing- profissionals are very skilled but they are rushed and it got me a bit agitated lol. I hope to come back and change my experience. The vibe was amazing! Tea, a separate waiting area, so many products there for facial (i love them! so i did enjoyed to stock) You can also poor your own tea. I had never been to the salon so I called and asked if I could make an appointment with someone who was familiar with shaggy haircuts. They recommended Jessica and were definitely right to do so. She customized the haircut from the inspiration picture I showed her so it would suit my hair texture and density. She even noticed the cowlick and irregularities in my hairline which she took into account when trimming my bangs. I love how she gave her professional recommendations and asked for my opinion throughout the haircut to ensure that we were on the same page. Joanne is THAT girl!!! She cut and styled my hair so beautifully and gave me such an amazing hair transformation. It was my first time cutting my hair short (above my shoulders) and she absolutely killed it, making me so comfortable throughout the entire cut and using her expertise to really make sure the cut fit me. I 100000% will be back and feel so thankful and excited to rock my new do. I have been looking for some time for a great stylist of short hair. My experience is that I often get either a half-hearted, rather nervous attempt at something funky and precise, or a boy's cut! I am so glad to find KIMO! We started with a great 15 minute consultation: it was clear he really understands short hair, and how a cut is quintessentially different from longer styling. He explained clearly and expertly why I had been having the challenges with my style, particularly due to the nuances of my own hair, not just some generic spiel. I don't want to give bad ratings when it's a struggling time for everyone, hence the 3-stars instead of a 1-star. Came here to do a demi color for my wedding. The lady coloring said the color will fade out over a span of 24-33 washes. It's noooooooot happening like that at all. My hair is turning orange, hair was falling out and I have to start all over transitioning from brown (now orange) to silver. What an ugly pain. The cut was from another lady and she didn't do anything really other than charge me close to $100 and tell me about her life. I wouldn't recommend this salon and won't come back again. Finding a good salon is getting harder and harder. read more

I got a hair cut from Chenoa who was so sweet. I wanted a length trim, reshape, and to add some volume to the top since my hair looked really deflated. I decided to take a chance and go middle part to align with the cool Gen Zers after a decade+ of being a millennial side parter. Chenoa also recommended face framing layers which looks really good when my hair is down. She was also able to curl my hair the way I wanted it to look too. I highly recommend her as I walked out feeling great! I also highly recommend Liam. Liam is super friendly. I wanted something super subtle to match my low maintenance life. I have jet black straight hair and he added the nicest touch of milk chocolate highlights. It looks SO natural you would think I had natural brown hair when the sun hit my hair. He assured me that this color would grow out nicely and gradually lighten over time which I am all for! I actually had leftover caramel/blondish hair in about 1/4 of my tips from doing a garage color dye job during COVID in Jan 2021. I was curious to see how Liam would "correct" it without having to chop off more hair or essentially dye in black. Even as my hair was in foils, I noticed a good chunk of some of the leftover color was left untouched. I'm happy to say that he worked some kind of magic because he was able to beautifully blend/mute/offset the leftover blonde. Now my hair looks cohesive. This is what you're paying for!!! I've NEVER dyed my hair before so I was extremely nervous about doing so. That being sad, from beginning to end at Juut with Mika, I was nothing but comfortable & confident in how everything would turn out. And oh boy did it turn out! I wanted a blonde balayage and showed Mika the below example photo. She did an outstanding job of understanding what I wanted and matching it to my hair. She was so friendly and just lovey all around! When it was finished, I couldn't BELIEVE how good she made me look & feel. She's the best and I would absolutely recommend her for your an appointment. If you're a brunette looking to go blonde, Mika is your colorist! I've been contemplating changing my color for years and as a brunette I've always wondered how I would look as a blonde. I hadn't died my hair in seven years, so I was nervous to make the change. I saw Mika for a consult and she walked me through what was/wasn't possible with my hair, as well as talked about what would look the best. We booked the "going blonde" session in July 2017, and I was thrilled! I had virgin hair (not previously dyed) so my hair lifted quite a bit. I've since had 4 sessions with Mika. Most recently I flew from Boston to SF so she could color my hair (worth it!). I wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair. Great service, great color, and I recommend Mika to all my friends. I really like this salon for cut and color and have also liked the nail services and waxing so basically everything! The stylists specialize in either color or cut so they seem to get really good at their craft. And I know the salon is interested in keeping their skills current as they will attend continuing education conferences at times. There are two downsides for me and why I don't have a five star experience here: 1. This is out of their control, but because it is an Aveda salon, and while I love the fragrance, the color does not last in my hair and seems to give it a brassy edge. Sob! Plus, the "pure plant and flower essences" of Aveda shampoos can actually irritate sensitive skin and the scents can be overpowering, planty though they may be. This is my issue of course but if anyone wanting to come here has similar concerns just know that they are limited to Aveda products. 2. It is not relaxing here because it's so noisy, cramped, and kind of dumpy looking inside - could definitely use a remodel and a more spacious, "zen-like" waiting area and spa area in particular for the facials/waxing. Hair salons are noisy of course but if they gave the stylists more space and added some luxe spa touches? Just sayin. Otherwise, I would definitely return for the expert stylists who are so talented and genuine and can guide you toward a new style that really works with your hair texture, complements your features and fits in with your lifestyle and how much time you have to devote to your hair after you leave the salon. read more

He's funny and interesting and has great social skills; but moreover he just comes across as kind and sincere. Second, he did a really good job with my hair.
