I just got my haircut with Jeanne yesterday and it was a great experience. I called about a month ago and left a message that I wanted to donate my hair. Jeanne texted me a few days later with instructions and to schedule an appointment. Usually she's booked out far in advance but someone cancelled last minute and I was able to squeeze in. We did a video consultation to show her my hair and that it hasn't been dyed or colored, otherwise it's unable to be donated. 1. If you're going to donate, register on wigs for kids website 2. Print your registration number and bring it with you to your appointment 3. Wash your hair the day before and make sure it's 100% dry The donation hair appointment is 2 hrs: cut, wash, style. Obsessed. I came here to try a keratin smoothing treatment for my hair (never tried this but it was recommended to me to combat frizz). I was able to make a same day appointment with Melody and she was amazing! I have fine blonde hair and was worried about whether this treatment would be too intense for me and Melody eased any concern I had. I feel like I've learned a new life hack because my hair now dries without frizz and there is no need for me to even blow dry or apply heat for it to look shiny and styled. Even better is that this treatment seems to have strengthened my hair and I no longer need to wash it daily because it doesn't look greasy like it used to due to how fine it is. read more

Just a warning that the online prices listed as of 3/11/19 are completely misleading. After reading some yelp reviews I called to schedule a consult with Shayla seeing as her price was $210 for a color/partial highlight/cut. Just left the salon after being informed that her prices are in fact $290 for these services. I understand that sometimes price increases aren't always reflected immediately on a website when there are multiple independent stylists that rent chairs, however being 40% over listed cost was just a complete waste of my time. read more

I get my hair done by Hallie Kauser. She is extremely talented and really understands your style. I am at the point where I just let her do what she thinks is best. I have NEVER been disappointed in her service. Recently, Hallie did a foil-free balayage treatment on me. WOW. I cannot describe how amazing it turned out. My hair has never looked this good, felt this soft, or been this healthy. I trust her judgement and she is a truly talented stylist. I just got my hair done here by Isra and LOVED the whole experience. I was so excited to finally address my Covid roots which had grown out half way down my hair. It definitely presented a challenge with half my hair dark brown and a bleached out lower half. Isra blended it like a pro and made sure to constantly check in with me on my goals and preferences. She perfectly balanced my goals with simultaneously keeping my hair health in mind. She explained everything she was doing, set realistic expectations and was friendly and fun to chat with. STAY AWAY. The salon itself is not nice and my experience was terrible and actually the worst I've ever had. I booked an appointment 2-3 months in advance. Got a text message on the day that the stylist is running 30 minutes late and I said ok. I showed up as requested 30 min later and was still waiting another 30 min to be even sites in the chair. She is not only extremely talented and has done my hair perfectly, but she is truly a ray of sunshine to work with! I found JS salon on Yelp, having moved here from North Carolina. I had been going to my NC stylist for 15 years, and am very particular about who touches my hair! I saw good reviews for this salon. I called JS and was put with Hortencia Rodriguez. What a huge blessing! She is AMAZING!! Actually, even better than my stylist back in NC! (And I was worried I wouldn't find anyone as good!) Hortencia is so amazing that o regularly get asked by strangers who does my hair, and I get to pass out her business card. My hair is always gorgeous and the color is perfect! The highlights last a long time because the technique she uses keeps the roots from readily showing. Her cuts are so good that I can often wait twice as long to go between cuts, which saves me money. I went to Anna at this salon because of the great reviews online. My first experience with her was good. So I went a second time and had the worse salon experience of my life. When I got seated there was a girl standing around, obviously an assistant or intern. When it was time to shampoo off the color it was this girl who took me for shampooing and she rubbed my temples rather hard to take off the color so I asked for Anna. At that time I asked if Anna could do the shampoo like last time and I was told that 300 people before me had not complained. I had to put my foot down since I couldn't trust the assistant any more. I explained to Anna that had she set the expectations before maybe I'd be ok but this wasn't the experience I came for. Anna then grudgingly did my shampoo and blow dry. But she obviously didn't want to do the haircut that I had actually gone for. I was extremely hurt by her behavior all through and hope no one else goes through the experience I had today. read more

This salon is located in downtown Menlo Park off of Santa Cruz ave. Plenty of free parking (for up to 3 hours, I think). The salon is private (people walking by on the street aren't able to stare in the windows) and there is plenty of space between the various stations. I immediately scheduled an appointment with Alexis Parks after being impressed by the before/after photos of her work on her Instagram account. When my appointment came, I was not disappointed with my results. What her photos don't show is her amazing personality and how willing she is to share all of her hair care knowledge/advice with her clients. She was extremely patient with my endless questions throughout the appointment and would always confirm we were on the same page as far as what I wanted in a cut. As someone who has had various experiences with hair stylists at other salons in the past, I HIGHLY recommend Alexis. read more

I had been letting my hair go-- a complete anomaly for me-- and need drastic hair help. I have had my hair done by Gretchen for nearly seven years, and have enjoyed beauty treatments by Henrietta for nearly that long.
