Very poor experience on karwa chauth for mehndi services. Unreasonably expensive and not worth the money. First, she had inexperienced and very slow mehndi artists (the ladies tried their best and were sweet but they were just doing it to earn an extra buck, they were not experienced at all) and secondly, she had fixed designs in a book and if you come with something of your choice, the artists will either not be experienced enough to do it and would just say no or charge exorbitant amount for it that will make you rethink your choices. I feel my money totally got wasted! I will not go back here next year for my mehndi. read more

I was in the area and needed to get my eyebrows done. I'm not picky about where I get them done, so I just searched up threading and Jyoti Threading Salon was the closest near me. I looked at the yelp page and noticed they don't take card, so I had to get cash from the ATM at a liquor store a few stores down. Not a huge issue, but inconvenient. It was $9 to get threading. And you get what you pay for here. The salon looks run down. Rude customer service and a lazy job at doing eyebrows. I was ready to get out of there ASAP and I also had to clean up my eyebrows more at home because they weren't fully done. My friend actually intended to get her eyebrows done after me but she noticed how rude the lady was. When it came to paying, the lady had the worst attitude when I told her I was paying with cash which confused me because I thought they only take cash. Never going back and would rather spend the few dollars elsewhere. read more

It's pretty small. But the price is great and she massaged aloe into my skin after aggressive threading. This is a small spot in downtown Sunnyvale. The threading is done in the back of this salon. Walk ins are welcome for threading and I thought she did a great job. Downfall is that I got an ingrown on the side of my mouth when she did my upper lip. So unfortunate but it's likely that's just something that happens to the body. I have a tendency to get ingrown hairs when I thread. I have no idea how to avoid them. :( Park wherever you can. My eyebrows look TERRIBLE. I went in and told the lady (en older woman with glasses) that i just wanted to clean them because i was growing them. I wanted them freshly done for an event tonight. She threaded them and hair fell on my face, as expected, and when the time came for me to check she didn't even offer a tissue or cleaned my eyes for me. The she goes "excuse me". As if I was supposed to know she was done while my eyes were closed. I told her to give me a tissue and then i looked in the mirror. I told the lady one was thicker than the other and pointed at the top. She plucked the bottom. I didn't second guess them cause I thought she knew what she was doing. When I checked again, to my horror, ONE WAS HIGHER THAN THE OTHER. I can't even fix this myself. They shouldn't have even a star on this. Edit: I went back in after writing the above review and requested that someone else fix my eyebrows. The cashier asked me to wait. A few minutes later she sat me on the chair and used the thread to indicate where she was going to pluck. She covered my eyebrow with the thread so I could see it without the line she was referring to. She did this again on the other side near the bottom. The way she left my eyebrows was definitely better but still disappointing. After coloring a bit with a pencil they are definitely better. This earned them one star. I might give them one more shot but DO NOT GO WITH THE OLDER WOMAN WITH THE GLASSES. WHY IS SHE EVEN THREADING IF SHE CANT SEE PROPERLY. SHE SHOULD BE CASHIER read more

This is the second time I'm going to the salon during COVID times and I'm so grateful for these ladies. They wipe the seats down for every single customer and also try to maintain distance over your face while threading. That must be so hard but they are doing a great job! Also, I grew my brows out for about 3 months and both Jyoti and Amrit do a good job of keeping them thick and listening to what I ask. I had booked an appointment for eyebrow threading and waxing. The beautician who threaded my eyebrows didn't do a thorough job. Without even letting me check if she missed out on any stray hair, she asked me to proceed to the waxing room. It was only after I asked her for a mirror to see, did she give it to me. As suspected, she hadn't done a good job. She hurriedly threaded the parts I asked her to and didn't let me double check saying it was all done. When in the waxing room, I requested her to do a thorough job because I had a party to attend. She assured me she would but I noticed she hadn't waxed it all out. When I asked her to, she told me she'll do all the parts she missed out after completing the waxing. Yet at the end, she hurried out of the waxing room and when I called her back, she hurriedly applied wax and didn't wait to wax off all the parts she missed. She is very experienced and goes out of the way to care for your hair. You tell her your hair problems and she'll be sure to solve it for you in addition to wonderful hair cuts and styling. She goes the extra mile when it comes to customer service. Sadaf is an extremely warm person with a big smile on her face. I couldn't have dealt with my hair problems (extremely bad hair fall, frizzy hair etc etc) without her support. Sadaf always makes suggestions for treatments and products that's right for your hair.
