One of the worst haircuts I've gotten. They recommended Victor for a men's middle part haircut. I asked for ear length trim for the top and he cut way too short. Over 1inch above the ear. The haircut itself was around 10 min very rushed. I left with what looks like a Karen haircut. Extra long in the front and goes short to the back. Never coming here again. I had a great experience the last time I got a haircut here, but unfortunately, this time was a disappointment. Even though I specifically asked for just a light trim, Victor ended up cutting off nearly an inch. My hair now feels more damaged than it did before I walked in. On top of that, he dried my hair very aggressively and didn't use any heat protection, which only worsened the damage. I was hoping for the same quality I got last time, but sadly, this visit didn't meet my expectations. It was $75 for the haircut and I tipped $15. I was hoping after washing it my hair would "get better". It has not. I've been growing out my hair for my wedding. I've been very gentle with it. I don't use any head styling whatsoever. This is a complete disappointment. Maybe he was having a bad day? Or something else was going on? Idk. All I do know is how unhappy I look and feel now because of my hair. read more

I am not sure how this place has good reviews. Like a previous Yelper commented they did not cut my hair right. It looks like someone chopped it with an axe. Their hair washing stations are also not very comfortable. My hairstylist spent more time blow drying my hair rather than cutting my hair neatly. read more

I have never written a negative Yelp review before, I truly think people do their best, but it's been almost a week and it's so bad, I had to. I chose this Salon because they had a ton of openings and they got good Yelp reviews. The experience was awful - she was quite aggressive, spilled a lot of water down my shirt when washing my hair, her movements were rough - often poking fingers in my ears, but I could have lived with it if the haircut was good. Additionally, she styled my hair so horribly when I left that I thought maybe the haircut was good, but the style was bad. Unfortunately after I washed it, I learned it was the cut.  I had asked for a trim and some long layers. She cut what looked like 2 separate haircuts. It did not blend together at all. She cut CHUNKS out of my hair! I had holes of hair and then I had random long pieces coming out from underneath short pieces with no rhyme or reason. These photos barely capture the horror although you can see how bad it is.  I would have understood if it had been a good haircut, just not one I liked, but this destroyed my hair.  She charged me $85 for this and I then had to go spend a lot more to get someone to fix it. Booked it online, just picked whoever was available in the time frame. Stylist then texted me to say they were running late, I said that was okay as I was struggling to find parking. Then stylist arrived 20 min after appt, but I wasn't worried as I was not in a rush. The salon only had one other stylist and customer at the time, it was mid morning on a weekday. But then I had the most bizaare haircut experience I've probably ever had. I tried to convey the need for a basic trim to remove dead ends and a request to please frame the cut in the front so the hair doesn't look just chopped off. (My hair is thick so it looks terrible if not done correctly). I braid my hair mostly these days, so it was still slightly wavy from that. He then proceeded to cut my hair dry with lots of flourishes, which was confusing because I'd never had anyone cut my hair dry and have it still turn out okay. I tried to trust the process as he seemed insistent it would work. Then he had me walk over to get my hair washed after only 10 or so minutes of cutting and another lady did all the washing and most of the drying. The stylist spent that time on the phone outside the salon, I assumed he was dealing with something. Then he came back in and finished the last few minutes of the drying and that was it. All that for $70. I suppose that's still a good price for this area with my amount of hair, but the haircut of course looked terrible and uneven the day after. It is good at least that I can hide it with my braids until I go back to my old stylist in WA state when I visit my folks. It was not busy in the salon but he still could not do the whole haircut process? And then only did about 10 minutes, while it was dry? That method doesn't work for my hair. Sad to say, I do not know if I just caught this guy on a particularly rough day, but I will not be returning. read more

I'd give this place 3.5 stars - I got my haircut here for the first time. There were some things that could be improved on, but it was a pretty good experience. Here's what I thought: Stylist: Cady was nice and seemed very confident in her hair styling skills (been in the business for 55 years). I think there was a lack in finesse since my shirt got wet during the hair wash. Instead of clipping my hair to cut other areas, it was flipped back and forth, so my hair was always in my face. Cady seems always proud of her work and took pictures after (of my hair and the lady before me). Haircut: I think it turned out nice, but felt a little rushed. My hair wasn't fully dried when I left. The price for a haircut online was $55 and up, but I was charged $80. I was a little surprised, but I do have a lot of hair, so I figured I would have some up charge. Essence salon in Mountain View charges about the same ($80) but has a bit more finesse and ambiance in the salon. My haircut was a little choppier than anticipated, but it's growing on me, so there's that. :) COVID precautions: It seemed a little lax. Everyone wore masks, but I noticed the receptionist took it off for some time to talk on the phone. They also pointed everyone to the same chair to wait (which I'm not sure was wiped down between seatings). Overall: I think it was a pretty good experience - rounding up because we're in hard times. I really needed a haircut and Evoke was able to take me on the same day. I might stick to my regular stylist, but am still happy that I gave this place a chance. read more

Worst customer service ever. Not only was I lies to about my reservation. But I wasn't even given what I asked for. I wanted a simple trim and I ended up losing half of my hair. The ladies that ran the salon barely spoke to me and only communicate amongst them selves in their language. I felt very uncomfortable and not heard at all. Worst part was that at the end of my appointments, I was told that my cancellation through ClassPass was invalid and I was forced to pay for my terrible haircut. I wish the salon would've had better communication, because I went in blindly. I would've never paid for this if I would have known. They made me get on the phone with the owner after my appointment for to tell me that I was wrong about my prior reservation. Every single lady in that salon started attacking me and telling me that it was my fault, because I didn't ask about my reservation. I got there early to make sure that everything was taken care of and not once was the ClassPass reservation cancellation mentioned. I had an appointment with Victor for a root touch-up, but things quickly turned sour. After applying the dye, my scalp started burning intensely, suggesting an allergic reaction or some kind of sensitivity to the product. I asked Victor to wash it out immediately, which he did.But instead of showing concern, he demanded full payment and threatened to involve the cops if I didn't comply. I told him it was washed immediately, and he replied, "Madam, you wasted my color". He was like, "Pay up or I'm calling the cops!" I'm standing there, totally freaked out. Like, what? The whole thing left me feeling shook. Like, who treats a customer like that, right? And threatening with the cops? I ended up paying because I didn't want to escalate the situation any further.
