I was nervous to use a pet sitting service because I had the same cat sitter for several years, but unfortunately she moved away. I was searching for a cat sitter online and found K9 and was impressed with her website and outstanding reputation online. We met the owner, Charlotte, before we left for our 12 day trip. She was very thorough with asking questions about my two cats and their routine, temperament, and eating/litter box habits during our meeting. Charlotte sent Emily, Dylan, and Julia to check on our boys for morning visits and evening visits every day for almost 12 days (a total of 23 visits). The three of them were excellent with taking care of our cats. They gave them a lot of attention and made the 30 minute visit worth it. One of my cats likes a lot of attention and they made sure to give him lots of love and pets while we were gone. My other cat is shy, and they were very patient with him. Even with my previous cat sitter, he usually would not come out much, but with Julia, Emily, and Dylan he seemed to be very interactive, and even let them pet him sometimes. They made sure to always send a very detailed report of how the visit went. They described my boys' personalities perfectly. It was nice to see all the cute photos and to read what they were doing when they visited. I appreciated them giving my cats the attention they needed, as well as cleaning up and being detailed with their routine. I really felt like I could enjoy my time on vacation and have peace of mind that my cats were taken care of. After trying several pet sitting services, I've gotta say the team at K-9 Kats is my hands down favorite and imo best pet sitting service ever. The team is just phenomenal, and truly took wonderful care of our cat (Luna) and our previous foster cats (Oliver and Rupert) as if they were their own pets. They're like fairy-cat aunties, seriously. Charlotte, Mirian, and Julia checked in with every visit, were very thorough in their care and always sent over detailed reports of their visit with our cats. Even sometimes adding in updates about their health or behaviors, like that Oliver likely had a UTI based on pee clump sizes (which his vet confirmed on our return - poor baby!) or that our spunky girl Luna was being clever and breaking into her treat and food containers. And best part yet about the updates were the photos of the cats, which we always looked forward to and found comfort in while being away. With our most recent trip where we had to spend 3 weeks away from Luna, we were pretty nervous on how Luna would behave and adjust since this was the longest she had ever been away from us. Because I work from home, Luna's used to being around me most of the time and has been known to show quite a few separation anxiety behaviors when I'm away from her more than half a day. With the first week, I could tell through the updates and photos of Luna that she wasn't loving the change in routine and was reluctantly adjusting to her new normal. But by week 2 and 3, her mood was noticeably happier and in fact I could tell she looked forward to seeing and playing with Charlotte, Mirian and Julia. With previous pet sitters, Luna would be in a state of distress and anxiety on our return home. But with the K-9 team, when we returned home, Luna was in such a happy and well adjusted state that my partner and I were in total shock and surprise.
