I moved on August 15, and the movers from K and A Movers were exceptional! They made what could have been a stressful experience feel easy and seamless. I had both my apartment and a storage locker in the complex to move. The team assessed everything and developed an efficient strategy. They used the time wisely, carefully wrapped my belongings, loaded the truck, and even drove it. They recommended the moving supplies I needed, and I was able to return anything unused to U-Haul. I had the dream team--shout-out to Theo and Kendric! They were respectful, professional, hardworking, and careful with my belongings. I was able to continue packing while they worked because I knew everything was being handled. I also want to recognize KB, who called that Monday to discuss my needs and ensure I had the right-size truck. DO NOT USE K&A MOVERS if you value your belongings. I trusted this company to professionally load and secure my things for a long distance move from MD to Fl in May 2025. The owner KB bragged that his loads are always, "stacked high and tight!" I provided rope, tie downs, plastic wrap and blankets none of which he or his employee used. The 26 foot ABF trailer I rented has bars on both sides, every two feet to secure the load and he was obviously too lazy to utilize. When opening the trailer in Florida the entire load had shifted, every piece of furniture was scratched and/or broken, multiple boxes were overturned, and it took 5 hours to safely unload the trailer. The movers on this end said they had NEVER seen such a poorly packed trailer. I have contacted K&A Movers multiple times, sent photos of just some of my damaged goods and KB has refused to return my calls. So, after nearly a month of silence from this company, I have decided to involve MD consumer affairs and today am filing a complaint with the Maryland State Attorney General. read more

I had an emergency because NuGen Movers failed to show up for a contracted move. K&A responded on a Sunday afternoon and showed up within 1.5 hours. Super helpful! Super efficient! They should be first on U-Haul Moving Helpers list! I'd hire them again in a heartbeat. read more

I recieved the worst service from this company today. Initally the two workers arrived late and the older gentleman sat in the vehicle for the first 20 minutes of the service. Only myself and one of the men moved items for 20 minutes out of a two hour move. I have ring cameras which can support this Then the second mover took a fifteen minutes break. So once again although I paid for two movers one is actually helping me move. Then the first mover took another fifteen minute break. Then they took a break together for 15 minutes. On top of hiding behind the uhaul box containers for his forth break. I posted some of my pictures although my entire property is surrounded with cameras. Granted the house was all over the place from tenants moving out and contractors unexpectedly placing items so they can paint. However, this does not mean for a two hour move I essentially only recieved one mover although I paid for two. They other one was resting. Each mover took multiple 15 minutes breaks and I have a picture of them both taking a 15 minute break together with both of them in the car. I brought this up to the owner, I was not offered a discount. He still required the full price. I hired another team to unpack the truck and fill the ubox container it litterally took 50 minutes. Compared to the two hours including of breaks of at least 45 minutes. I wouldn't spend my money on this company, I believe they tried to drag out the move to increase the price. read more

Do Not Use. They were 2.5 hours late. They could not be reached by phone for any information for 45 minutes after the appointment time. They failed to secure my load adequately, and my property was completely strewn about the back of the truck. They initially offered nothing but empty apologies. When I requested a refund, KB became quite rude. He finally offered 1/5th of the job payment. When I tried to explain that I did not think this was sufficient he was completely unprofessional and hung up. Horrible service. Cannot be relied on. Terrible customer service. Do Not Use. read more

They don't know how to pack. They leave huge gaps between boxes and furniture. Not only wasting space, but causes items to shift massively during transport, resulting in breaks and scratche. read more

I hired K&A through the moving help website to pack my U-Haul pods for me. They were on time, communicated with me ahead of the move especially when uhaul didn't have enough trailers to send both pods to me. So they packed a truck and with the second box's stuff and loaded in onsite at the uhaul center. I had ordered 2 boxes from uhaul for my one bedroom apartment but there was some question if I would need another one. They were skilled Tetris geniuses in packing my pods for me and got everything, carefully wrapped in moving blankets and shrink wrap, into just 2 pods saving me a ton of money! I originally book movers using uhaul and the movers never showed and told me they won't be coming to unload the truck, this left us in a bad situation. I called K&A Movers after searching for movers online. K&A Movers told me they could arrive in 3 hours, THEY DID! I hired K&A (Kasheim) through Moving Help when renting a U-haul truck. I booked the appointment several weeks in advance for two guys. Kasheim calls me about two hours before the appointment, telling me that he has only one guy available. This was a huge inconvenience and left me with a rented truck and no options. He then overcharged me for the one guy, who showed up a hour late, saying he had a minimum charge. Kasheim is not honest. Kasheim will not be the one who does the actual moving work. During my move to the DC area, I ran into something that I simply could not do myself. A 925 pound safe. Three neighbors and I managed to get it onto the trailer and off I drove for Stafford (storage is much cheaper there). KB showed up to meet me, along with his guy Hugh. Let me tell you that had the safe not even belonged to me, I would have paid him to move it anyway, just to watch them manhandled this massive safe. KB was friendly, professional, and made short work of my super heavy item. My girl and I will be using them when we move the family this fall. read more

KB was great! He and his team member wrapped my furniture nicely and effortless carried it down two large flights of stairs on an extremely hot day. I used u-haul movers, so they followed me while I drove the truck. It was such a smooth process - I can't thank them enough. They were so respectful and professional. KB and his crew were great!! The buying/selling process of my house was riddled with so many complications that I was at my wits end with the whole moving process. I got a free quote from a large moving company (who had great reviews) that it was going to be almost 1000$ just to put my stuff into the truck that I rented. And then they said there wasn't any availability on the days I needed. So, in a panic I looked online and found KB's company. I called him and even though it was only a week away, he found the availability to work around my tough schedule for less than half of what I was quoted for the big moving company. Then only 2 days before my move my schedule shifted again and he was able to again accommodate my needs (which was unloading the truck at 7 pm at night!). This company was the ONLY easy thing about my entire moving process and I am super grateful to them. The entire team was very professional and helpful. I saw their ad on Craigslist and called several days in advance to arrange the move of a mattress, box spring and some other furniture. Spoke to Kasheim, who said he would show up around 2pm. I called back the morning of the move to confirm. 2pm rolled around and nobody showed. I called again, and he changed the time to 5pm. Since it was too late to hire another mover, I was stuck. 5pm came and went. He finally showed up at 6:35pm, and all by himself, even though the ad clearly stated "2 guys". I had to help him push the mattress and supply him with duct tape to secure drawers. He refused to negotiate on the price, despite the fact that he kept me waiting almost 5 hours, and didn't bring a helper as advertised. I won't be using K&A Movers again. read more
