I stopped by with my girlfriend to look at rings, and when we walked in, she did not feel comfortable and didn't want to stay. After I had exchanged a few words with the salesman, I too did not feel comfortable nor wish to continue the interaction. Another customer walked in, and after a brief moment, the salesman excused himself to go address the new customer. My girlfriend and I took that opportunity to gracefully exit and try to do so discreetly. This is when I realized we were locked in the store. The salesman had a key-fob that unlocked the door when a customer rang the doorbell, and in order to leave, he had to be the one to let you out. Unfortunately, I had to get the salesman's attention in order to leave. He asked if we were done talking with him, and after my "yes", he said, "well, before I let you out, do you want to come over here and get a business card?" Immediately, I felt trapped inside this store, wanting to leave gracefully and discreetly, but I couldn't. Let me be clear. I do not appreciate being locked in a store and not being able to protect my woman (even by simply leaving the building) when she feels uncomfortable or threatened. I have absolutely no intention of returning. I will add, before we went to this place, we went to Duffy's Jewelry, and had an absolute 10/10 great experience. They were very pleasant, professional, and extremely kind and knowledgeable. Wanting a second opinion, I took the rings to the jeweler inside the Benbrook Antique Mall. They quoted $65 per ring. They even explained that their standard charge would have been $45 per ring (charges can very depending on material and sizing), but because the rings have small side stones that require additional labor, the final price was $65 each. That's a difference of $124 per ring for the same service. I would encourage anyone considering jewelry repairs or resizing here to get a second opinion and compare prices before committing. Shopping around could save you a significant amount of money.
