I was in the area and wanted a donut. They had pretty good reviews on yelp so I decided to give them a try. They are located in a small plaza on the corner of Santa Monica and Alvarado. There are 3 businesses in the plaza and a total of 4 parking spaces, 1 of which is designated handicap. I was lucky to get a spot and went in. My friend was going to drop me off home, and knew that I needed to grab dinner before heading home so she took me to this spot that she's a fan of. I'm so glad she took me here, to this casual, lowkey spot with all kinds of sandwiches. The prices were so good, and they even had donuts, so I couldn't resist getting a cinnamon crunch blueberry donut on top of the #6 pastrami sandwich. Despite the cheap prices on their sandwiches, the pastrami was delicious and fresh and I really enjoyed it. I could definitely see myself having these kinds of sandwiches for lunch regularly. The woman at the counter was friendly and nice, and happy to answer my questions about the different kinds of donuts. She took my order quickly, and got the sandwich out to us pretty speedily. The croissant used for the bun isn't a typical, flake until it's dissolved pastry, it's way more stable and able to hold in the toppings. The amount of bacon and avocado put in the sammi is proportionally perfect. Not skimpy and not obscene. The mayo sauce is slathered on in the correct manner and makes me mmmmmm... The boba is absolutely amazing; it's one of my favorite that I've ever tried from all the boba shops I've been to. It's about $4.50 and it is sized as a large rather than a regular, so you get much more for its price. This has been my family's spot since the 90's. Therefore, it hurts me to write a negative review, but I hope the owner of the shop sees this and does something about it before it's too late. The price for a box of dozen doughnuts jumped from $9.50 to 11.99. That is ridiculous, if your business wants to compete with big chains like Dunkin and Yum Yum you need to lower the price.
