After he fixed the right side, the left side immediately blew out. Both sides are connected to the same transformer via a connecter. Requested quote for dryer vent cleaning. I was told service would be $79. When technician checked the vent he quoted me $540. I told him I had been quoted $79. He asked me my budget, I told him I didn't know because I had not gotten another quote but I wouldn't pay more than $300. He said he would go outside and call the office. He came back in and quoted $350. I told him I would get another quote. He said he could do it for $300 without calling the office. I said no. He left then 2 minutes later I get a call from the office offering $250. I said no. I got the job completed for $179 from another vendor. K & K are liars and price gougers! read more

I couldn't have had a worse experience. The worker arrived almost two hours late. He then told me he wasn't sure if he'd have time for my project because he had other customers that day (again, he was already late for my appointment). Two hours later, absolutely nothing had been done besides making a hole in my ceiling. Apparently he ran into a wood beam and had spent almost two hours trying to thread wires through for my lighting fixture. I then started to notice my whole room was trashed. He was standing on top of my bed with his ladder. My nightstands were COVERED in drywall bits. My canopy bed was covered. My quilt was destroyed. He didn't even attempt to cover anything with plastic. He said he didn't have any that day. I called to speak with someone. The woman refused to let me speak with anyone higher because it was after business hours. It was barely 4pm. The owner then called and immediately started yelling at us. He said he knew what "us people" were like. He then told his worker to leave and refused to finish the job. So he then left a hole in our ceiling which wasn't ever there until they came. Nightmare. Do not work with them. There is something very off with the owner. On other reviews, any time a customer has a bad experience the owner claims it's because people are refusing to pay. This is just a lie to divert from his terrible services. We never refused to pay. In fact, we agreed to pay more than the estimate. read more

I would do no stars if possible. Didn't show up TWICE. The first time they at least had the courtesy to call me to tell me the technician had an emergency and would need to reschedule. They told me they would call me back on Monday to schedule me for that same afternoon. Monday a different person called me and advised me Monday was not available, only Thursday mid day which did not work for me because I have to be at work. So I choose Saturday again. Big mistake, I should have chosen a different company instead. I had cancelled any plans I had for Saturday in order to be here only to have them not show up. Not even a call. Very unprofessional. The only good thing about K&K was that were very responsive and able to come out quickly. Unfortunately, the tech they sent had trouble communicating in English which I believe led to many problems. I had a complex issue involving both electrical and hvac problems that were intertwined resultjng in power outlets not working, flickering led lights and ac not working. For all of those issues the tech stated bad light bulbs were to blame. Obviously that cannot be right and I advised KK I wanted a more thorough explanation and recommendation which they eventually provided with a lot of back and forth prompting. Owner got offended because I called their evaluation garbage - which it was based on the above. He then attempted to charge me more than the agreed upon price which was $125 and stated his hourly fee is $350. Seriously. They eventually adjusted their invoice back to the original quoted price again only after I sent a screenshot of the original agreement. Also, I asked for proof that the electrician they sent was licensed since my problem was more than bad bulbs and again the owner responded poorly stating his own licenses and certifications - but not the tech he sent. Owner then threatened legal action for not paying the invoice within 24 hours as I wanted some answers prior to paying and a REAL diagnostic other than change the light bulbs. One of the worst experiences I have had with a licensed contractor. I hired a separate company who came in the next day and immediately identified and fixed the problem: I had three breakers ( 1 60amp and 2 30amps) which went out in a surge. KK's electrician couldn't even find that which should be pretty basic for an electrician. In fact, it should be the first thing they check. The KK analysis was completely wrong - everything they said was incorrect - my Nest thermostats were perfectly fine as were the LEDs. Owner even said he had a number of "poor customers like me" - I believe him as I am sure he has a bunch of problems with his customers. Bad attitude of the owner and incompetence in their techs. I wholly support the prior review of K and K. The owner came out to assess a job. Then gave us a reasonable bid. They had all the information they needed from that estimate visit to order supplies and come prepared to do the work. I got up at 430 am to meet them at 6 am. The day the work was to be done. The owner arrived with a subcontractor to do the work. The sub actually did a good job but on the day they arrived with the K and K owner , they had no supplies and spent over three hours out getting supplies and pulling the permit. When I reached out to the owner to find out what was going on , he immediately got hostile and just hung up on me. I was polite at all times. This was a small commercial job and I had gotten up at the crack of dawn to follow the work only to sit there for hours with nothing done unnecessarily. The owner of K and K is rude and impolite. And I never saw him again after he explained the work to the sub. I told his service manager I would never use them again. When she asked by email what the issue was I said I would be happy to explain. I never got a call back. I'm sure the owner said don't call back. If you value courtesy and service I would not use these people. read more

Last week when Michael's and Sons' tech flaked and didn't show I called K & K. Same f*cking thing! Maybe my damn lights just don't need to be fixed lol. I usually don't waste time posting negative reviews about companies I plan to never do business with again, but damn it my husband took off time from work to be home for these services. Do. Not. Use. My usual electrician was not available and I found these guys on Thumbtak. Over email he suggested the cost for a job would be about $200. When the technician came out, they of course charged me $125 for the estimate, but later that night wrote back with a final quote of over $1,000. I thought I was going crazy--how could such a simple job cost so much money? I asked him to reimburse me the $125 since his original estimate was so wildly off, and he refused. Finally, my usual electrician was able to come over--he fixed the problem in about 15 minutes and charged me a grand total of $25. Stay away from K&K Electric--it's a scam. read more

I contacted the office and e-mailed back and forth several times to make sure of the price to be charge. When I hesitated, Robin offered me a $25 discount and I agreed to get the job done. The tech came on time and I was very pleased with the work. I paid the agreed price with discount plus an additional $25 since they provided the doorbell. Two days later, I got an invoice for $59. When I e-mailed and inquired about the bill she just keep re-sending the bill. The company has not called to discuss this. Be careful with this company. This is the second time we have used K&K Electric, both times to replace and install ceiling fixtures. Both times, the service was excellent. The technicians were courteous, informative, and answered all my questions. Electricity is one thing I avoid. I am amazed at how quickly each technician installed the new fixture, tested his work, and made sure that I had seen the finished product before cleaning up and leaving for his next assignment. Then they called me and demanded payment though their own invoice said it was due seven days later than when the call was made. They are shameful in their service, integrity, and skill. This company was referred to me by Home Depot. They sent a technician who was supposed to install a fan that I purchased from Home Depot in our living room. He was supposed to remove the fan from the living room and install it in the bedroom which has vaulted ceilings and install the new fan in the kiving room. He did that but the problem is he used an 18" downrod in the living room and a 6" downrod in the bedroom which has a vaulted ceiling instead of visa versa. I called the day of the install to let them know that the job was not done properly. I spoke with Robin R. Wetzel who said she was the manager. She told me that my wife, who is really not very mechanically inclined told the installer that it sounded OK the way he was going to install the fans. Then she said they would have to charge me 60.00 to come back out. I said no, that was not acceptable. She then said she would look into it and get back to me via email. She did and told me they would come back out and make it right. We set the appointment for 6/12/19. I had the fans installed on 5/31/19. the time was to be between 2 PM and 4 PM. They did not show up nor did they call and they do not answer their phones. I emailed and no response. I have opened a case with Home Depot and hopefully they wii make it right. We will see. I would never do business with this company and I hope that this review steers you away from this company as well. By the way, I paid them $285.00 for this aggrevation. read more
