I visited this Nail Salon for approximately 8 months, I saw Marianne who is pleasant however her work is subpar. She never seem to understand how I wanted my nails and most times they were slanted. I spoke with Tammy the Owner who did my nails nicely. I guess her schedule was full so she suggested Snow, whom she said was an excellent tech. Very disappointed in her work, I made it clear I do not like nor wanted the pointed nail tip. I saw her for two months each time telling her to please not make tips pointed, some visits she tried to do better, but never able to give me the look that I was looking for. The last straw was when I asked her if she heard of the chrome color polish. She said yes, I asked if she could do it and she grabbed the polish and started polishing my nails not once did she tell me the polish was $20 more dollars than my polish. I was very upset that she didn't inform me of the amount so I could decide if I wanted to pay that cost. Needless to say I find that type of business dealing underhanded. Heads up ask how much their services are because they don't post them! read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE!! My daughter came in to get a full set done, and this man named Steven was her tech. He didn't listen to what she wanted. She wanted coffin and he did square, made it way longer then what she wanted, and didn't test out the color that was picked out and when she asked him to change it after the first paint coat on her nail he refused to change it! He said too late and kept painting on. She asked for red glitter and he put silver! And they charge you $55 for a full set gel not to mention the gel was only on a nail or two and looked like she did it at home . Never again will I take someone over there nor recommend them to anyone!! Not to mention one of her nails broke off within 45 minutes of her getting them done! Discussed. I went in for a pedicure. The gentleman technician proceeded to prep my nails. At a certain point in the service while my feet were in the water bowl he dipped his large metal file into the bowl and proceeded to clean it. I did NOT have this procedure done to my feet during my appointment. The dirty file was covered in his previous customers skin. I pulled my feet out immediately. The female technician near my chair asked what was wrong I told her and she laughed. I left K&T nails and will never return. I will be tell everyone I know in Rochester about this awful experience. This nail salon does not take the health and safety of their customers seriously. I will be contacting the health department as well. I give this location NO STARS! read more

I have been going to K&T nails for over 20 years. I started in high school for the normal dance and vacation nail needs. I have had acrylic nails for over 15 years and have always gone here. I have lived in Clawson and still drove to get my nails done here. I live in Oxford currently and still make the drive for their service. Tammy and Kevin are fantastic but honestly I trust myself with Stephen, Mary or Katie. They are friendly and I am honored to be one of their loyal customers. I give this place 2 stars because I was taken back right away and didn't have to wait. This was my first time here so I'm not sure about the other nail techs, but Katie was...not good.. to put it nicely. My cuticles are still throbbing as I'm typing this review. She was so rushed for some reason and hit my skin so many times with the electric filers I was actually sweating from the pain and anxiety. I got the dip and the final product left me with polish all over my cuticles and fingers which has never happened before? I honestly could have done this at home with the essie gel polish instead of paying $45 plus $5 tip. I'm annoyed and will not be returning. read more

Two of my friends and I came in to get our nails done. I got dip on my nails and this was truly the worst manicure that I have ever received. My nails were not prepped whatsoever. Not even filed. The lady (Loan) who did my nails got the base and dip all over my skin and my cuticles. She did not correct it before putting the bond on so the dip quite literally fused to my skin. She then proceeded to jab her nails between the dip in my skin to rip them apart which was quite painful. She left my nails in the strangest bumpy texture, and there were literal hairs cured into my gel topcoat. After paying I spent 20 minutes trying to rip the cured dip off of my skin. I then went home and had to file off what I couldn't rip off of my skin with my hands. The entire process was also very unsanitary. The nail drill she used and all of the drill bits were dirty and her station was covered in dirt and dust from previous clients. For one of my friends, she had her previous acrylics removed and just wanted gel on her natural nails. Stephen did not properly remove her acrylics and instead ripped them off of her fingers. Yes, RIPPED THEM OFF, which consequently also ripped her natural nails off that she had been growing out. He also left gel polish all over her skin and did not clean it up. For my second friend, she had asked for tips and gel. First off, Stephen did not shorted them like she kept asking. He also used the complete incorrect tip size on all of her nails so there were very noticeable and ugly gaps on the side walls of her nails. This made it look as though she had cut little pieces off of the sides of her nails. He also did an absolute mess of a job on her nails leaving gel polish all over her skin. Usually you get what you pay for but this was not worth 47$ (57 w/tip) for my dip, or the 60$ my friends payed. This place must to have been violating so many health codes because nothing was sterilized and the same exact files and drill bits were used on each customer without sanitizing. Skip this place and get your nails done at Mynt, Oasis, or Nail Lounge. read more

However she told me that I could only use 2 so that there would be a pattern. They were also very rude the tech told me that my nails were too short. I would never go there again. read more

Came in with no appointment and loved the place itself. Very clean and relaxing. The staff were super nice too! My nails were what I wanted and they were done fast. The only reason I couldn't give five stars was because of the pedicure. The ambiance was great but it was really rushed and the water was cold. It seemed like the technician didn't want to miss out on other business, but when you pay as much as they charge I expected a long, warm relaxing pedicure. I basically paid pedicure price for a polish change with a cold rinse. I came here a few weeks ago, never going back! They butchered my nails taking off a gel polish! The lady was ripping the polish off when it was not soaked all the way through and also used the thick side of the four-sided nail filer to polish my nails, basically scratching the surface to the point that weeks later there are visible marks on them... The atmosphere and decoration is just a trick to make you think this place has it all together. Customer service and execution is absolutely awful. I called ahead of time knowing it was close to closing as a curtsey. They told me it was still ok to come in but that's not how they treated me when I came in. I have never been so rushed or rudely addressed in a nail salon. The second I sat in a chair a woman was asking for my card to pay the bill so she could go home. Then a man rushed through my nails doing an awful job every step of the way! He even rushed me through picking my nail color and proceeded to tell me that he knew he wasn't doing his best but it was my fault because I had come in "so close" to closing. They used an unused acrylic nail to peel the dip off my nails that was on when i got there and when the nails didn't easily come off she continued to scrape and pry at them. i've never had a place not soak them off in acetone and it was the most painful thing. She then said oh your nails broke we need to put tips on as if she didn't expect this when she pulled my nails off. They look decent but I would never go back. read more

My nail tech rushed through everything she did and my manicure looks like my 5 year old cousin did it. Nail polish is all over my skin. (will post pictures too). I almost walked out when I saw she would do my nails, but decided to give her a chance because I was in a crunch. My nails are ruined- peeling, cracking, splitting. The nail technician did not spend nearly enough time on my pedicure, maybe 15 mins tops. The manager came up to her and told her she had an appt in 15 mins and she hurried up my pedicure so she could be available for her appointment. I can't believe I spent $35 on a half-ass pedicure. She didn't even finish with a top coat polish. And the WORST part is that she used a foot scrub/scraper on the bottom of my feet and then used it on her next lady. Very unsanitary!!! read more

just now I wish I read the reviews because the bad ones are spot on. I just walked out from a crap experience. I was rushed to the pedi chair in a dark room and handed the swatches for my nails. So instead of sitting back and enjoying I'm straining my eyes to see. Mid pedicure the swatches where taken away to give to another customer--- quick pick I went with neon yellow..the one color I could see. Pedi lasted less then 10-15 mins, btw- Next, during the dip manicure again..a huge rush (they were not busy) no asking about shape.... My cuticles weren't done so I asked- and was told "they don't do that normally". I've always had it part of getting your nails professionally done and was then asked to "list the places that do ". Really??? I've lived in 8+ states.. where should I start?? Why oh why?? To add to this delightful experience the workstation was covered with other people's nail grindings -I was asked to put my arm on top of such ( coincidentally while wearing a new black shirt) so I wiped it down with my hands (gag). So for an extra five dollars for the some cuticle love we continued. Again rushed/ no hand washing between steps like normal/ sloppy job / color and top cost all over my cut cuticles IMAGIne THE MESS if I didn't stop and insist they cuticles be managed One nail was not coated properly. I cringed at the thought of what was to come when I pointed out!! Yup you guessed it more lectures excuses. Out of nowhere the experience ended.. she was done. the my cuticles dry mess.. had stripes of top coat on my hands, dust- "Done like done????" I asked "hey they are pretty dry..perhaps.. "before I could bust out the rest she lectures chemistry this time and slaps oil onto my dirty mess of hands and then here comes the lotion. I asked to was my hands before we continued in hopes I could remove filth before this step HEREs the BEST. ... I was told I could not wash my hands. A human told me , another paying ADULT no, I could not clean my body on my own accord until she completes the process of grinding the other garbage and remanence of strangers into my hands then go wash off the lotion!!! I always lotion after I wash/ shower...perhaps I am doing this wrong all these years ??? Classic. I needed to check my toes in light before I go .... There was a chunk missing and half my baby toe was not painted. Another lecture,,, a ted talk on drying times etc. I never did mention the baby toe with issues... I paid and asked if I could write in a tip or rerun the card. I'm used to places that have this option - I was told to go buy something next door (not sure what store next door meant, nor what I needed there) and get money back to tip her with. Instead I'm sitting here typing this before I return - to be honest it's the very first time in all my years on the earth that I really don't feel a tip is proper (nor is the proper tip worth anyone's time). Never have I felt this way and I'm ashamed to even admit it. There are many other ridiculous moments in this experience but I'm blabbing too much - I will return and tip the employee for her time , educational insight, eye rolls, and strangely only asking me one question (outside of the demanded responses aforementioned). "Are You Married?" I'm not and that was random. So yeah don't do it at least not with this lady. I won't drag her name into the dirt... but the place isn't clean and The odds are you won't be clean or happy when u leave. read more
