    Peeling/chipped shellac manicure

Spent almost $80.00 (including tip) on a shellac mani and pedicure. Lady told me it would last 2 weeks. It hasn't even lasted a week. I am a teacher who is off for the summer and I don't work with my hands, so there's no reason the paint should be chipping and peeling off so soon. I think she should have done an extra 1-2 coats of clear to seal it but she was rushing me out the door. Money wasted...

Even my Dad thought this was a horrendous manicure. I got to the salon around 11:15 this morning for a simple shellac removal, manicure, and shellac polish change. What should have been a procedure that took 45 minutes to an hour AT THE MOST, turned into an hour and a half of disappointment. Feel free to reference my photo for an example of what an "acceptable" shellac manicure is at this salon. My manicurist began our session by telling me she was sick and she was up all night with a cold. Great. I really want you to touch my hands now. She proceeded to take off my shellac which became a 35 minute process. Once we got to the shellac application, she put two coats on at once with a combination of horizontal and vertical brush strokes...she did not even paint the sides...no UV in between the two coats. After UV light, she applied a third coat..when I asked about the bumps and ridges within the polish she informed me they would come out with the top coat application. The bumps did not come out and my shellac is a cracked globby mess. After the manicure was over, what I assumed to be the owner or manager came over and looked at my nails. I informed her that this was unacceptable and if I had the time, I would have had her take it off. My manicurist started crying and explaining to me that she was sick and she usually does a great job. I'm sorry is it my problem that you are sick? Call in if your sick don't come to work and infect all your customers. I was charged $15 for a plain manicure instead of a shellac manicure. It should have been free. I spent an hour and a half+ in there wasting my time. Do yourself a favor and just make the drive to Creative Nails in Rochester.

Shellac mani I had to argue for 10 min to have it slapped on in 20... Never going back

Stay away! Worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon. Read a few google reviews that said the place was clean and quick but the owners were extremely rude - thought I would give it a try anyway because the location was convenient. Scheduled mani appointments at 2:30 for a girlfriend and I. When we got there, I was told by the owner that we couldn't sit together because our manicurist's stations weren't next to each other. There were 8 open mani stations. When I chose colors for my shellac, I wanted pink nails with one gold nail on each hand - was told I had to pick one color only. After an argument with the owner he told me I could have two colors, but it would be $5 extra. Fine - I will pay for a service but don't tell me you can't accommodate such a simple request. The owner did my friends mani himself, and made her feel stupid and like she picked an ugly polish color. I didn't realize how ownership could have such an impact on my experience - I figured if my nails looked good and the equipment was clean and quality it would be fine. Totally not the case. If you're looking for a fight and terrible customer service, this is the place to go.

*Please read before considering coming here* The people…read moreworking here are beyond rude, I have never had such a horrible experience at a nail salon before. I've come here only a handful of times, and despite my first few experiences being a little unprofessional, I decided to give them another try since they are the closest salon to my home and I love supporting local business. I wish I never gave them this second chance after my first few bad experiences. My most recent experience: I went in to get a typical full set (which I was told was $45 by phone). I got there and showed them a picture on Pinterest of the nails I liked, and she just began working. Not only were they kind of rough with my hands, but my tech was complaining that my hands were moist (it is literally a medical condition and no other salons have had an issue with it and have given me great services despite). She kept mentioning my health condition multiple times throughout the appointment, and then once she completed the nails suddenly the price changes to $75. This is such a common thing now with salons, changing the price once the nails are cemented on. I mean I know it is just 30 dollars at the end of the day, but for alot of people who pay cash (because the salon even states they prefer it!) it is really hard to properly prepare when you tell people incorrect amounts in advanced. I left a generous tip still, even though in my opinion the nails looked horrible but I just wanted to get out of there because I was so disappointed. The best part... that exact set all began cracking at the base of my nails (and severely damaged my nails) 3 days later. I came back, they were fixed. Then 2 days later, 8 more nails all broke off (besides the only two that were earlier fixed!). I called back because I was really disappointed and did not want to be up-charged such an absurd amount for a set that barely lasted me a week. I've had nails that cost me a fraction of the price and stayed on for well over a month, even getting multiple fills on those same sets! Whoever I spoke with on the phone, said I could come back and they would redo a set for FREE. I came in the same day, and then the lady said she couldn't do it (she didn't have the time) so I asked her just to take off the remaining nails left on and if I could come back the next day when she had the time. So, just today I went in to get the set replaced (since I virtually paid 95 together, that's more than enough to cover two sets in my eyes). I just wanted something very very simple. Again she was super rough with my hands, and when she finally finished she said it would be $50. I confirmed the day before, and on the phone before coming that the set would be complimentary and then she tried to charge as I left. I explained kindly and calmly to her why this is not an okay business practice, and the lady who was in the salon the day earlier who told me the set would be free was even in there. She lied and said she never said that. I never expect 'free' things from businesses, but when your quality is severely lacking, a customer should be compensated. With another customer in the salon as I was leaving, she caused a scene over it and tried to say it was "my body" and that was the reason the nails were not staying on. I'm so ashamed that this is the way a local business is being ran, to shame another customer in front of others for something like that is SO sad. I will not be supporting this business ever again, and I hope you will not either. Plenty of better salons locally that also know how to treat human beings. :/

My daughter is 12, we had to have our appts one after the other because they don't have staff, I understand that. So I sat in my car for an hour. Then it was my turn so we switched and she sat in the car for my appt. I tried to have some sort of conversation with the nail tech but she wasn't interested in being friendly. The service she performed was mediocre. My feet are fairly soft with the exception of rough spots on the outside of my big toes. So one spot on each of my bit toes. The rough spots are stiff there, the "massage" never went higher than my ankle and felt more like a tickle rub vs a massage. I also was told by my mother in law that the appt was made for both mani and pedi but we were told we were done after the pedicures. I didn't set it up the appt so we just left. $90 for 2 mediocre pedicures and I still need to give my toes some attention. I assumed this place was amazing since it's in a beautiful historic building and has been in business for years.. but that's not the case. We will not ever be returning. There are many other spas and nail salons where they are happy to have you as a customer and actually do an amazing job for way less than what we spent here. Thankfully we had gift certificates or I would have been very upset at the services performed. I'm rating this place at a 2 because the building, massage chair and heated table you lay on were nice. The paint job was decent as well but there was no scrub, or anything. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, you'll get better service at Le Nails done the road.
