This place was such a peaceful getaway in the crowded concrete jungle of NYC it's hard to find a place that does it all and does it well. I literally LOVED the woman who did my appointment. I came in for a hydrating facial, eyelashes, and an eyebrow wax and let me tell you. I was blown away. The facial was the most hydrating facial I have ever received and it was with both micro current stimulation and the blue light. It was amazing! For $60 you could not ask for a better deal. As for the lashes I got $100 mink lashes each eye for $49. The placement is lovely and they're lightweight and soft. My eyes don't feel heavy at all. I was super nervous to go with them because of the mixed reviews. But I'm happy I did! I'll be going on vacation and can't wait to see the updated results. My brows were a tough one! I wanted to get them done out of convenience because I was already there and didn't want to go to my normal spot later this week. So I took a gamble! Like many others, I found this deal on Groupon and decided to try it out. The staff was kind and accommodating with making an appointment and being a few minutes later than expected due to train delay. The chair where you get your lashes done was sanitary as they had you take off your sock as well as paper to switch where others feet have been. The pillow even had a paper covers so that you wouldn't need to worry about having your hair getting dirty. The day I got them done I was super excited and loved them. I had two people who worked on my lashes. They traded off (Not sure why). The first lady who did my right eye's lashes who spoke Korean and Mandarin did my lashes nice, but almost all fell out after a week. The second lady who did my left eye's lashes did it okay with some spots missing lashes, but after a week, a lot of them were left. So now I have what looks like one eye with lots of lashes and one eye with less than half the amount. tl;dr - I did love the lashes when I first got them, but not after a week of having them. EYE INFECTION. First time and last time I will visit this studio. With the plethora of eyelash extension salons in NYC, I typically will buy a Groupon to try a new place out. Now that I've been to a majority of them, I've found my "spots" to get eyelash extensions. Let me be clear that K Beauty Studio was a last minute decision. I called them and they said "we'll give you Groupon price, just come in". Okay, cool.... so I went in. They kept trying to upsell me on mink lashes like I've never gotten lashes done and don't know how they work on my eyes. Anyway, after filling out some forms, a lady who was very... abrasive took me back to her room and put my neck in a weird neck pillow thing that I don't even know if it was clean and wasn't really comfortable at all. Regardless, I semi-fell asleep like I usually do at these appointments, only to be woken up by a very strong burning sensation. I've felt burning before but this was like BURNING in both eyes. Regardless, I tried to ignore it and continued on with my half-nap. Woke up and my eye was sore but whatever, it happens. She gives me a mirror and I look and there's one eyelash that is hanging way lower than the rest - she blames it on my eyelashes and tells me to fix it. By "fixing it" she meant she's going to take a tweezer and just yank my entire eyelash out - which she didn't tell me - which hurt like a mother. Thanks, lady. I get home, I'm trying to get to sleep, but my eye hurts. I go look in the mirror and it looks like some rogue natural eyelash got caught in the glue weirdly so I went and had to do some arts and crafts on my natural eyelash to get it to stop poking it in my eye. 5 hours later I wake up for my flight and I realize it wasn't the eyelash poking my eye but rather a freaking EYE INFECTION. Let me be clear, I've gone to plenty of different places to get extensions and this is the first time this has ever happened - so I know I'm not "allergic" to anything. 30 hours later, still red, still hurts. I'm big on Groupons when it comes to lashes. I try to find the best deal at the newest salons and I've tried plenty, but Sunny at K Beauty has been the best so far. She was thorough when cleaning and applying my lashes (even though I had some glue leftover from previously applied strip lashes). In total, the process took about an hour and a half but it was totally worth it. It's almost a week later and my lashes look like they were just applied. You get to choose the style of lashes (I went with the 'sexy' look), length of lashes (I went with 14 since I have big eyes), and the regular or mascara look. The mascara look is extra $ so I opted out of this. The studio itself is a no-frills kind of space and difficult to find. It's located on the 14th floor but you need to take the elevator to 14A and walk down the corridor. The management is great here. I was taken precisely at my appointment time and sent a reminder text a few hours before my appointment. I decided to revisit this place again and instead bought the 100 lashes per eye mink set. I arrived early for my appointment and they gladly took me. Filled out the paperwork again and my technician recommended a length, style and curl for me. They have separate rooms for each client now as opposed to what it was before. There is plenty of privacy and a blanket if you need. My technician was gentle and I actually heard her counting under her breath while she was doing my lashes. In the end, I love how they turned out. They're super soft and I barely even remember that they're there because of how natural and weightless they feel. I have gotten my lashes done at a bunch of different places in the city and my specific tech made a difference for this experience! During the process, I realized that my technician was actually counting the lashes. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this because not everyone counts and I really feel cheated at times. I will definitely return after being three weeks in, I still have a healthy set with some loss ones at the ends. I care for my lashes very well and I can tell when they use the right glue and the lash quality. I had an appointment for 7:30 PM and arrived earlier in hope of being welcomed, but they are fully packed and honor their appointment times. With that said, it is ideal that everyone arrives at their appointment times so that others are able to get serviced at their appointment time rather than having to wait another 10 minutes because that was what happened here. Luckily, the girls do not rush through the process and really give you the attention you deserve. For Midtown pricing, I think this is very fairly priced and would recommend it. They moved to a beautiful new space, where each room holds up to two beds. Some rooms are entirely private. I found this spot through Groupon and despite it having pretty shabby reviews, I decided to give it a shot as a trial before I had my prom considering it was pretty affordable. The first time I came, I really liked them. I got them a little too long for my liking, length 12-13, C curl, and in the sexy style, but regardless I thought I found a new go to spot for eyelash extensions. They held up for more than 3 weeks. As the week of prom approached, I scheduled an appointment for a fill 2 days before the event so that I'd have them looking fresh. I switched it to a length 11-12-13, and everything else the same. I loved them, they were exactly what I wanted. I thought it was good timing considering I had graduation within the same week, but by the time graduation came, (a 4 day gap from my prom, I may add) more than half of my eyelashes on my right eye came off. I had a 70 piece per eye fill, and I could actually count the extensions left. The day of graduation, some were flipped and so sparse, I couldn't brush them out properly! I called them a day after my prom, and the staff told me they could not offer a free fix because their 3 day policy had passed, but I called them this morning because I woke up with 8 extensions that fell out on my face. They told me I should've came in because they also do fixes within 4 days. I was pretty upset on the phone, and the receptionist told me to come in, only for 3 of the staff members to tell me it'd been too long for a fix, which was nothing they couldn't tell me over the phone. I wasted 1.5 hours commuting to their shady shop to have the door slammed in my face. I would not recommend anyone to come here. Do not go to any other technician but LEE who does a good job but the other ones were so bad and glued clumps of lashes in a fan style, one eye fuller than the other. I'm sick of all you complaining your lashes fell out few days after getting them so here are some tips: 1 invest in a eye lash extension shampoo and gently dab over your lashes and rinse Off gently around the eyes. Don't splash water on your eyes. 2. Do not use micellar water or oil based cleaners around your lashes. Avoid glycol, glycine and anything that is oil based which is death sentence for lash glue. 3. Avoid eye liner pencils and use liquid oil free eyeliner. Pencils have wax and oils that hardens your lash glue and make them fall off faster. Or buy a liner brush and gently line with dark eye shadow. 4 cup your eyes with your hands when you're rinsing off shampoo etc so the water doesn't directly spray on your lashes. No brainer 5 try to sleep on your back or on your side at the edge of the pillow. Side sleepers will notice the lashes on the side you sleep on falls off faster. 6 gently comb your lashes so they don't clump which weighs down your natural lashes and makes them fall out. If you rub toner, scrub your lashes then say you got a crappy service. This is a NO BRAINER. Your natural lashes shed along with your extensions so the life of your lashes depend on how you shed as well. I really like the work Lee does here. I have been getting my lashes done in NYC for about 8 months now and this is by far the best place I have been! The pricing is super affordable, mine was under $50 with the tip and tax included! They also have refills and loyalty cards. Check for Groupons! Also, some studios will honor the Groupon price, as Groupon takes a lot of the profits from them. The quality of the eyelashes is genuine mink or silk, whichever you prefer. At the beginning of the appointment, the nice woman at the front deck or a technician will help you select the style, curl, and length! You can choose your own, but I really appreciated their help. I ended up going with the natural style and the curliest curl in the mid length with sort of a longer cat eye on the end. The location is really nice. It's a little difficult to find as it's I n a larger building, but once you get into the salon it is super clean and calming. My technician was very gentle and quick! One thing I love is how I paid and tipped. I hate it when salons automatically add a tip. I've had salons add a tip before of over 40$, and then you feel too awkward and obligated to just pay it, even if you aren't happy with the lashes! Here is MUCH better because you pay on an iPad and can add your own tip. Honestly they did an amazing job tho so I had no problem tipping well! I've had my lashes on for about a week now and they look perfect! Only one has fallen out, when I was washing off my waterproof eyeliner. I haven't noticed any lashes on my pillow either. I was a bit iffy about this spot since it only had 3.5 stars. But the latest reviews seemed pretty good, so I gave it a shot - especially since I got a great deal with Groupon. I came in with a 5:30 appointment on a Wednesday. This isn't my first rodeo with lash extensions but for some reason, I can never get the perfect length. I've finally figured it out at K-Beauty with my lab technician, Tina. She was super helpful in helping me decide. I told her that I went to a different place last time, got the 11s and it seemed like it was just my regular lashes but fuller. I told her I wanted a more noticeable look, but nothing too crazy and she advised on the 13s. I went with the sexy shape, B curl. Tina explained that if I was going for the sexy shape, I would need the 13s because they need to be longer on the end, and my natural lashes are already a 10. This was the perfect length for me and I was very happy with the way they turned out. The procedure itself was good. They have individual rooms, so it's more private than other lash places. I did feel a bit tugging at times but I think it was because I still had a few stragglers from my old extensions. Overall, it was relaxing and I dozed off a few times. My only complaint would be the pillows. It's a bit uncomfortable because they're just travel neck pillows. Tip - they have a loyalty card and it has your lash preferences on it in case you forget. You get 20% off your 5th visit, and your 10th visit is free. It has been almost three weeks since my visit and most of the lashes are still intact. I just came out and my eyes are BURNING. I ve been to multiple lash extension places and my eyes have never burned like they do now. My eyes are pink and purple and it hurts to even blink. The entire one hour process was extremely uncomfortable. My neck was hurting the entire time and it was making me extremely fidgety and my eyes were on fire. The front desk lady was definitely not friendly either. First thing she does is hand me a form and places x s next to where I need to fill out without even welcoming me or introducing me to how they would go about the process. They make you pay tax which was not in the descriptions of the coupon and make you pay tip in cash from the original price. I ended up paying $64 which I d rather spend elsewhere. I will not be coming back.. Update: This is day 2 and my eyes are completely inflamed, throbbing, and swollen. The toxins in their glue have caused a reaction and have caused an eye infection. They are refusing to help in terms of medication or issuing a refund and have blamed me for the condition. The owner is stating that I should have known that there would be problems and yet the only thing she had me sign was the style of my lashes. The appointment process was easy - which is great because some eyelash places just take forever to get ahold of making the appointment process a HUGE hassle. Writing this after my 2nd visit touch up - 5 weeks apart! I was skeptical at first because of the reviews, price, and location. I used $37 Groupon for 80 Mink lashes. It was really cheap so I thought why not. I chose a natural set, 11mm, smallest thickness (only two options) and B-curls. Basically the most average choices because I was scared it would come out bad. I wasn't used to them at first but I received a lot of compliments and was quite happy with it. I paid with card which includes tax + $20 tip it ended up being $60? Thy don't speak a lot of English so if you know Chinese they might be better to offer better explanations and recommend to you. Now the main thing is: I think I maintained them well or these lashes were just that good, but even after 5 weeks I had plenty of lashes left over that it didn't look sparse at all I decided I'd try a touch up before school haha (I didn't feel I really needed one) but I went anyway for an upcoming party. I didn't know that the longer you wait the more they charge, makes sense since that means more lashes. But they saw my lashes and assumed I was there 2 weeks ago and gave me a discounted touch up (70 mink lashes for $35 + $6 tip) because I was inquiring about the price. The fact that they don't speak English isn't as much of a problem as they don't care that they're not providing good care to their customers. I've had lash extensions applied 30+ times before. Nearly all locations put some kind of cream, or at a minimum Vaseline, on the delicate area before the eyes before adhering medical grade tape to keep the lower lashes out of the way. I asked for this when it seemed like it wasn't going to automatically happen. The young man who didn't speak any English asked the manager to help. She said the Vaseline was "on order" but hasn't come in yet. So go down the block and buy a jar at Duane Reade. Really! They applied several layers of cheap, non medical grade tape under my eyes with no cream. When it came time to pull it off, they couldn't remove it without harsh pulling and pulling. This broke blood vessels under my eye and left splotchy glue adhesive under my eye. I'm furious. Ten lashes already fell out. I've had to continually moisturize to try to repair the damage they caused to my skin. Terrible. Awful. Painful. Save yourself and go elsewhere. read more

I found this place on Groupon ($40 for 100 lashes/eye). I only use Groupons for eyelash extensions and for the most part had good experiences, except for this place. I chose 10-11mm, Sexy shape (cat eye) and had 100 lashes per eye. I always get this combination so I know exactly how it should look. My esthetician definitely did not give me 100 lashes. She finished too quickly (1 hour) and the results looked sparse. The right eye has the cat eye shape I requested, but the left eye does not (more of a natural shape). I got my lashes done on Wednesday evening and by Saturday morning, about 1/3 of my lashes on my left eye had fallen out despite following the care instructions So now, my left and right lashes are noticeably uneven and to make them appear similar, I've started applying mascara to the left eyelashes. When using a groupon, you still have to pay $4 (taxes) before the service. I didn't have enough cash, so I asked to pay with a credit card. I was asked, "How will you tip then?" (BEFORE THE SERVICE). Wtf?! I'm very disappointed in the results but the saving grace of K Beauty Studio is the service. My esthetician was nice and gentle. I'd like to think if you go in and pay full price, your experience and lashes will look better and last longer. I did my lashes this Saturday. Despite the fact I didn't wet my face on that day (used wipe to remove make up+ hair was washed in the same morning), a lot of lashes fell out already Not sure if they offer free fix within certain days like other salon, but I'll try. The technician was gentle during the procedure which is a plus because other salons they tag your lashes and I'd never go back to those salons tag my lashes. read more

For starters, I had EXTREMELY low expectations for K Beauty. Having found this place through a Groupon deal and reading mixed reviews on Yelp, I ended up just taking the chance and purchasing the Groupon for a natural set of 70 piece/eye eyelash extensions. The price was cheap and the only things I ended up having to pay at the studio were tax and tip. Prior to my appointment, I had no trouble with booking (for my sister and I) and they even sent us a reminder text the day of our appointment! The studio is in a small and very sketchy looking building in K-town, and you MUST take the elevator up to the fifth floor. There are stairs but the doors to the fifth floor are locked (my sister and I learned this the hard way). Upon entering, you fill out a waiver and pick the extension style and shape that you want. This was my first time ever getting eyelash extensions and I wanted a more natural look, and the ladies were very helpful in guiding me through which style/shape/size would suit my eyes the best (I ended up getting 12mm long, 0.15mm thick, B-curl, natural shape). There were about five stations, some of which had beauticians already working on other customers, and they started on us immediately. The whole process took about an hour. I wouldn't say it was the most uncomfortable hour of my life (beds were comfy and music was soothing), but the studio was a bit hot, which made me a tad fidgety. My experience with the overall procedure and outcome was great. It's been two days and all my lashes are still in tact. I can't speak for my sister though - her lashes have been falling off. Though I'm extremely satisfied with the outcome, I was taken back a bit by customer service. Firstly, at the end, my sister received a spoolie and loyalty card from her beautician, while I received nothing. Also, the ladies weren't blatantly rude in any way, but they did make me feel a bit uncomfortable in the end, regarding tip. The regular price for our extensions were $99, and there are signs stating that you should tip 15-20% of the normal price, which is completely understandable. However, they expected tip to be in cash, which my sister didn't have. I stayed behind and explained to them she went to get cash, while she ran to a nearby bank. Almost immediately after she left, one of the ladies asked if she tipped, and another had to explain she went out to get cash. When she got back, we tipped our respective beauticians and began to leave. Before we even got out the door, the lady behind the front desk asked how much we tipped them. All the talking between the ladies were done in Chinese, so I guess they just assumed I didn't understand, but all the talk about money and tipping made me slightly uncomfortable. Yes, I understand that tip is a huge portion of your pay, but people also tip based off how they felt about the service so questioning about tip, especially while the customer is still present, is such a huge turn off for me. read more

I discovered this place through Groupon where I purchased the mink set (80 lashes per eye) and I am not happy with my experience. It's a very small and sketchy studio located in K-town. There' s no business sign that says K Beauty Studio, it only says "Apartment" when you're inside the building and elevator. First off, they immediately tried to rip me off. They were speaking to each other about what type of lashes to give me when I clearly purchased mink. They were speaking to each other in Chinese and they thought I didn't understand. I jumped right in telling them that I purchased mink, she was like "Yes. Yes. Mink" to shut me up. But I still didn't get mink. It wasn't even synthetic mink. It was just synthetic - THICK SHINY PLASTIC. They also did not apply 80 lashes per eye which is what I paid for! Next, this place is not Korean - it's Chinese. The "K" in "K Beauty Studio" and being located in K-town doesn't mean anything. Lastly, they applied so much tape to my bottom lashes; it was the most uncomfortable experience I've ever had with eyelash extensions. The glue they use smells exactly like Krazy Glue. The scent was so strong. My eyes were so irritated after the entire process. This is my first time purchasing a beauty deal from Groupon. All I can say is you get what you paid for. Quality? If they get glue in your eye to the point of excruciating pain and end up tearing up, K beauty studio will tell their boss in a language they hope you don't understand (fortunately I did)that "her eye is just messed up" and only said she could use the more sensitive glue for me when I spoke back to her in that same language. Price? Complete groupon scam. I showed up for my second time with my voucher but they said they can't take it, as it was my 2nd time in 2 months. It says you can purchase another one in 180 days on groupon but doesn't explicitly state that's also the length of time you must wait to use it and yet, allows purchases within 180 days? Service? The 1 redeeming star was my first time which was good in consideration of the price ($36). This time, not only the service but the result was also terrible. Cannot believe I spent money on this. I bought a deal on Groupon​. I was there on Monday​ and 2 days later most of my false lashes on the left eye were gone ( only 3 pcs left) I do my lashes every month and this​ place is by far the worst. Come on 3 days really!!?? Don't​ waste your time and money seriously. read more
