If you're questioning whether or not you should get those eyebrows done, stop questioning and go here. Seriously. I spent months looking at different places that offer microblading and never found a place that I felt comfortable going to and, of course, once I stopped looking I found Cat at Tint Brow Studio! From the very beginning, Cat was understanding and happy to help me navigate the differences between microblading and microshading ombre powder. Helped me figure out what made the best sense for my skin type. And walked me through every step of the process and worked with all of my hesitations. She talked about how it works and the entire process before I made the appointment. During the appointment she took time to get to know me and totally understood what I was looking for and helped with my fear of looking too dramatic after the first time by making the first/initial session more conservative and having the second for a touch up/darkening (if I chose to make it darker). She spent SO much time making sure to map the brows to my face and checking from multiple angles and even double checking herself with a camera to make sure it was truly even but still natural looking. And let me tell you, if that sounds like overkill, it is NOT. The nearly non existent brows when i hadn't yet used the eyebrow pencil (no lashes either...) 2. The "best" i could manage with the brow pencil (a smudgy mess that would wear off in spots as the day went on) 3. The new Tint ombré brows immediately post application (darker than final stage) 4. 10 days after - faded to the final shade. Basic brow perfection. When i tell them what i did- people can peer closely at my face and still not see that it's a tattoo or fake - as hard as they try. I simply look like i was "born this way" Besides being so sparse- they were also very uneven - which challenged me every day. I've always struggled with my brows and was tired of spending 15 + minutes every morning strictly dedicated to penciling them in, only to find I just made them even more uneven. I had the ombré tint procedure done a year ago and because I just loved Cat's work so much, I recommended this place to my mom for their services (because these brow-less genes had to come from somewhere). My mom ended up choosing micro blading with the beautiful Bekha Kim. My moms brows got mapped out by Bekha and then after making sure my mom was 100% happy with the shape, she moved on to draw the strokes. My mom did not use numbing cream (GIRLLLLL but I mean she had three kids so ‍) so Bekha just got straight to it! My mom was left with beautiful, filled brows. If there's one thing I could say about Bekha is that she is SO patient. She really makes sure that the customer is satisfied before leaving because my mom had a lot of say (ex: can you fill one more stroke here? Can you tint it for longer?). With each additional stroke, Bekha needs to leave the tint on for about 10 minutes so you can imagine how long the process took. While Bekha originally planned for it to take 2 hours, we almost used up 3 hours of her time, which Bekha assured was alright because she wanted to make sure my mom was happy with the final product. And that's exactly what Janet gave me. She suggested ombré powdering them and voila! I have been considering permanent make-up for my brows for years. At almost 60 years old, I finally got tired of filling in my brows and researched the best salon in NYC for brows and found Stay Tint Artistry. From my initial call with owner (Cat) to the end result... this was a very pleasant experience. This is a long overdue review. Sounds dramatic but new brows changed my life, I think any woman who spends the extra 10 minutes or more each morning to "do" her eyebrows understands how liberating this feels. I now wake up and feel confident in my face, this old mug- to wake up and have perfect brows that frame your face is a great way to start the day. I have brows that are light, not very defined- I always felt the need to fill them in as you barely saw them in photos. I've used pencils and powders; the last product I loved was Wunderbrow which was easy to apply, waterproof and long lasting. THEN, after many friends around me tried microblading I came upon ombre powder brows and thought- I'm going to finally give this a try. This was my first semi permanent make up experience, I don't have any tattoos and didn't have any gauge as to what this would feel like, how much or little it would hurt. I've tried micro-blading THREE times in the past and each time it came out uneven, not the shape I asked for and only lasted a short period of time. Cat did a phenomenal job on my ombre powder brows and my touch-up! My eyebrows are naturally light blonde (lighter than my natural hair color!) and I used to always fill them in whenever I did my makeup. Now, I don't have to worry about that. Having ombre powder brows saves me so much time when I'm doing makeup now. The procedure wasn't painless but it wasn't super painful either. I've had " issues" in the past with this studio but this latest transgression has prompted me to leave a review. Back in November I paid $650 for eyeliner tattoo. The technician opted for a very thin application that after 72 hours had all but disappeared. I complained immediately and sent pictures to document the inadequate application I received. I was told to return Dec 19 for a touch up at which point they would correct it . At the follow up, the technician determined after speaking with the owner Cat, that it would not be wise to proceed and that instead I would get a "full refund". We are now Jan 6 and still no refund. Instead today, I received a call where I was offered a refund of $150 and not the full $650 that I was initially promised. The audacity of Kat and her team!! The new story that they are peddling is that I'm only eligible for the touch-up refund and not the entire service.; Which is absurd and a LIE! I have opted to proceed with legal action as Cat remains steadfast that all I'm entitled to is a $150 refund even after receiving "rub-off" permanent eyeliner. Cat! Shame on you, but then again it doesn't surprise me. You closed down your business at one point without refunding people's money or rendering services until months later. read more

There are 2 questions that most ladies have concerning getting their brows done: 1) Does it hurt? - I'm the biggest baby/wimp when it comes to pain and needles. I had no problems with this! Honestly I was expecting to be wincing or crying, so I was surprised when I came out thinking, "that wasn't bad at all". There will be a little discomfort and they use an amazing numbing gel that works great! Based on your tolerance, they can give you more. So no worries! 2) Scared that you won't like your brows? - They spend a long time to map and draw out your brow shape. The girls are very meticulous and detailed. During this process, you can tell them what you want to be fixed or adjusted before the procedure. Only after you like them, they will start. The methods used gives you the best look for your face and making them symmetrical. Plus, it's semi-permanent. I think people forget that. Major bonus, there's a complimentary touch-up just in case after the healing process! I was so amazed when I arrived at the studio. Everything was brightly lit, clean, and beautiful. When doing any kind of beauty procedure, you want to be reassured that you're not walking into a shady dirty venue. As a mom to a toddler, you really don't have any time for anything, let alone to put on makeup. Now with my new ombre powder brows, this will be one less thing to worry about. I can wake up, go out without looking tired/sleepy. Brows really make a big difference! They will last anywhere from 1-3 years, making it a great investment. With my long commute to work daily, I no longer have to struggle to fill them in every morning and also feel safe about getting these ombre powder brows because it was done by Cat. My brows have been trash for years. I fell victim to over-plucking & threading - which makes growing full brows (again) quite difficult. This year I pledged to remain tweezer/thread free, in a last ditch effort to grow my brows back. Several months later, I have nothing. I had been on the fence about microblading ombré brows due to my dark skin, etc. But Cat and Jen put me at ease. My appointment started out with a consultation and brow sketching, wherein the team meticulously shaped my brows to my bone structure and face. I'm notorious for having 1 raised brow (ie resting b-face), so I was pleasantly surprised by Cat & Jen's patience and ability to shape my brows around this particular hurdle. Lol After agreeing on the desired brow shape & style, you're given numbing cream to help with the brow procedure. If you're accustomed to ink via tattoos - this should be a piece of cake. After about 30 mins - you're ready for showtime. Prior to starting, Cat & Jen begin the color selection process taking into account your complexion and desired depth. Once defined, Cat begins to outline your brows and complete the full process. My ombré process took about 40mins per brow, but this may vary depending on your style. Cat will review progress with you during the course of the procedure..so don't worry. Besides she's a perfectionist- which is always a plus. I have to say, this was the best decision I've ever made! I spend countless of dollars on beauty treatments, but this is absolutely invaluable. I no longer have to hide my brows beneath a bang or side swoop. I'm complimented everyday and have become a bit more noticeable (sans makeup) now that I have full, clean brows. If you're on the fence, go for it!!! This is a game changer! I am the girl who sucks at keeping her brows clean after getting them threaded. I also am the girl who sucks at shaping her brows and coloring them. Now I basically have a stencil I can tweeze around AND I don't have to worry about filling them in EVERY. DAY. On a daily basis, I don't wear makeup. I don't wear it to work, hanging out with friends, or working out. It's really not because I think I don't need makeup (my face is perpetually red due to battling acne for over a decade). I don't wear makeup because I'm lazy and I don't really care. But BROWS. Brows frame the face. They make a HUGE difference. I have naturally black hair, but my brow hairs are so light that more often than not, it looks like I don't have brows in pictures, especially when it's bright af. Onto the studio and the ladies who started it. I've only communicated with Cat, and she is absolutely wonderful. She takes the time to walk you through everything and answer ALL your questions (before I even scheduled an appointment, after I scheduled an appointment, at my appointment, after my appointment lol). Her email response time is quick, which I love because I'm so bad at picking up phone calls. When I went in for my appointment, she really listened to me and provided her opinion on how we could achieve the look I was going for (which was an everyday kind of look). During the process of drawing my brows, she was supremely diligent in making sure they were perfectly aligned with each other. I've never gotten a tattoo before, and I would describe my pain tolerance as medium/low. So although this procedure hurt, I honestly think that it didn't hurt as much as it could've been because Cat is amazing. Tip: just ask for more numbing gel if you begin to feel pain (that's what I did). I recommend following all the instructions they have on their website in order for you to properly prep your face for the procedure as well as know what's expected after the procedure (e.g., no working out, can't let the brows touch water for 24 hours after the procedure). I followed all the instructions for before and after the procedure, and my brows came out flawless!! I've received so many compliments from my friends - all of them say that my brows look clean and natural. I feel like these brows portray that I'm put together, even when I'm not. This is pretty important since I'm a consultant and client-facing. If you're on the fence about getting your brows done, I say bite the bullet and go for it. If you're worried about the cost, I say it's worth it for this studio, these beauticians, and the amazing results. They really go above and beyond with taking care of you and making sure you're satisfied with everything. Keep in mind that everyone is different, but all I'm saying is I had an amazing experience with this studio and these ladies to the point where I will be distraught if I ever leave New York (or if Cat ever stops this line of work). read more

Knew I needed serious eyebrow shaping and something to cover the gray stragglers I've developed in my eyebrows, but was super hesitant to trust anyone! We are all afraid the stylist will take off too much and then what? I did some research on Yelp but mostly went in blind, just trusting Cat (after spending 10 mins on the phone with her) and opting for a brow shaping and tinting with henna and an eye lash curl. Daniela was my stylist and is an absolute perfectionist. Was there for 2 hours and it all turned out stunning. Very happy with the results. We all wore masks as well for safety. I had meant to write this review earlier since I did the ombré powder brows in early Feb, but I'm so glad I got them done now that I'm quarantined at home and haven't worn makeup in a few weeks. My brows are the only thing making me look alive on all my video calls. I can't recommend Tint Brow Studio & Cat enough, she was so friendly that it felt like chatting with an old friend. She's very meticulous in the brow mapping which I appreciated and she understood all my hesitation since I wasn't used to my brows looking so perfect.
