Overly-fatty brisket, and tater tot casserole has...green beans and kidney beans? Meh. We used K Blocks in Oxford to cater a family holiday party. Hadn't tried their food yet, but heard good things. I looked over the menu, and then gave them a call. It took three phone calls to get my order the way I wanted it. The online catering menu offers half or full pans of meat, stating a half pan feeds 12-18 hungry people. My party had 13 people, and I wanted to have at least two different types of meat. So, I called to see if maybe they could do 1/4 pans. The person that answered the phone wasn't able to make that happen, but said she'd have the chef call me back when he got in at 4pm. No call back. The next day, I called again, asking the same thing, and said that the chef hadn't called. "Oh, yeah. He's been working a lot so he decided not to come in yesterday." Hmmm, okay. She said that if I called back the NEXT day after 4pm I could talk to somebody who can make it happen. So, I called the next day after 4pm. No chef, but talked to the original person who said she talked to the owner and they can do 1/3 pans, not 1/4 pans, but it isn't on their online menu. Great! So I ordered a 1/3 pan of the pulled pork, and a 1/3 pan of the beef brisket. I also ordere a half pan each of pit beans, mac n cheese, and tater tot casserole. We picked up the order on time, and everything was ready to go when we got there - good customer service. The pulled pork is good. Not "Oh my god this is amazing!", but good. (For comparison, we had catered a different party two weeks earlier from Bad Brad's in Auburn Hills, and I'd say their pulled pork was a notch above. The beef brisket was waaaay too fatty. Like, it had a good 1/3" of fat over the top of every piece. I get that brisket has fat, but that was just not good. I won't keep making the Bad Brad's comparison, but for this final comparison, BB's brisket is much leaner, and with more flavor. The mac n cheese was good - everybody loved it. The pit beans were a weird color of light brown. They were good, I guess I was expecting the deep, molasses, smoky pit beans I am used to. Still, really good. The tater tot casserole was NOT good. The menu doesn't say what goes into this, and I guess everybody assumed some sort of cheese, tater tots, and maybe pasta... nope. It had a tempting layer of tots on the surface, glued together with melty cheese (so far so good), but when we took a portion out we exposed green beans and pinto beans. I mean, if that's what they want to make for a tater tot casserole, more power to them, but they ought to say what goes into that on the menu. I'd bet that if I asked 100 people to tell me what they think goes into a tater tot casserole, none of them would mention kidney beans or green beans. (Okay, maybe one person might.) Everybody had a "What?!" look on their faces. If it had been amazing, I would've laughed and admired their creative genius. But as it was, it wasn't good. The flavor of the tots and cheese was lost in the weirdness of competing with the green beans and kidney beans. We are local to Oxford, and wanted to give our business to a local place. I'm glad we did. But if I go back, I'll be sure to ask a LOT more questions and maybe sample things first.

I think it used to be a Coney Island-style diner, but now it's serving up some seriously good deli food. I went in for breakfast but couldn't resist their savory, delicious-looking corned beef sandwiches. I ordered the New York Reuben -- piled high with corned beef, coleslaw, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing, all on an onion roll (you can choose your bread). This is my all-time favorite kind of sandwich, and I'm thrilled to finally find a place in the area that makes it -- and makes it right. It was absolutely fantastic. It's also great to see a local spot offering pastrami and carved-off-the-bone ham sandwiches. I can't wait to go back and try one of those next time. The service was excellent, the place was clean and charming, and the whole experience felt welcoming and genuine. If you're anywhere near Oxford and love a great deli sandwich, do yourself a favor and stop at Omega. Highly recommend!

We were quickly offered coffee which was typical diner fare. My wife didn't care for it, but I'd certainly had worse. We heard about the specials and took both. One was a Doc Holliday skillet which was typical skillet material but also had country gravy. The other special was a Stuffed Strawberry French Toast dish. We also ordered the suggested Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. We knew we'd have some to take home to the kids. The pancakes were a little dry as was the biscuit were traded our toast for; but everything else was pretty great. The service was fast but somewhat rushed and inpersonal. Enjoyed sitting in a booth in the window. There are cute tables for outdoor seating in good weather but they are right on street so I likely would choose to sit inside. The food was good. I ordered the gravy omelet. Good portion and potatoes were perfectly crisp. The sourdough bread is $1 more. I think next time I would try white bread. Couldn't really taste the sourdough flavor but had great crumb. The gravy was outstanding just like my mom made. A friend tried the egg sandwich. The waitress said it was a croissant but looked like a biscuit. My friend said it was tasty. The e sausage were links which was a unique twist. I do have to say it was a little chilly so I was glad I had my sweater on! But hard with Michigan back and forth weather to properly regulate the temp.

The coordinator and staff were personable, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our day special. They took the time to listen to our ideas and offered thoughtful suggestions on how to make the space work best for our vision. Their experience and attention to detail were invaluable. Honestly, we had planned to "wing it" when it came to the setup, but when we arrived, we were blown away. The entire upstairs area had been beautifully organized with seating, and they had even created an aisle for me to walk down. It was such a special surprise and made the ceremony feel even more meaningful than we had imagined. We specifically chose this venue because we wanted an intimate wedding surrounded by our closest family and friends, and with about 40 guests, the space was absolutely perfect. It felt warm, comfortable, and personal--exactly the atmosphere we were hoping to create. In fact, it exceeded our expectations and was even better than we had imagined. If you're looking for a venue with a wonderful staff, exceptional attention to detail, and a space that feels both intimate and special, we highly recommend this venue. They helped make our wedding day unforgettable!
